SC SC - Tammy Kingery, 37, North Augusta, 20 Sept 2014

I was wondering about the clothes too because PK specifically said she changed out of her scrubs and into pajamas, and that he gave LE her scrubs for the bloodhounds. So we are led to believe she went walking in pajamas?

I wouldn't go walking in my scrubs OR my pajamas.
Although, I am WAY into comfort, and I usually wear things like tunics and leggings. I have gone to bed in them many times. So I guess I could go walking in my pajamas. It just depends on what she sleeps in.

Catching up.
How long was she missing before he sent son to look for her?

I want to say it was within a couple of hours. According to what I've read, when he got home and saw her note, he was immediately concerned. He left the older son with the younger son while he went driving, with her phone, to search for her. When he got back was when he sent his son to look for her in the woods. While the son was searching, PK called his MIL to come right over, and when she got there she could hear him yelling Tammy's name.

If Tammy wrote that note (and it seems LE believe this to be the case) then I think its highly likely that, very sadly, we are looking at a suicide. Tammy might have travelled quite far by many different means to find the location she wanted. Her friends and family comment she would never leave a note, she usually always sent texts. But this just underscores the levity of the situation and the seriousness of what she was planning in MOO.

If the note is shown to be a fraud we are obviously looking at a different kettle of fish. I suppose there is the possibility that Tammy was coerced or forced to write the note, or that it had simply been saved from another time by the UNSUB but this seems extremely highly unlikely.

I'm curious why he sent the son to look for mom? Mom went out for a walk. Why didn't he wait for her to come back.

If a person dies, does their scent die with them? Would cutting the grass affect the scent? I'm trying to make sense that her scent was not found outside. If she rode in a motorcycle wouldn't her scent follow the path of the motorcycle? At least at the start?
Didn't see the disappear episode.

There's many things to ponder in this case.
Since she was so sick that she couldn't drive her car home from work, I can see him being alarmed that she went out for a walk. Also, mentioned in the show, that a written note (rather than texting) was out of character - another reason he was concerned...

Agree, suicide tops my list too... the note IMO was a way for her to buy time...

If it were I, I would have had older son stay at home to wait for MIL while I went out searching. Since note was so out of character for her, I would have also brought a gun with me in case she was forced to leave note.

After this investigation, I literally would not walk in those woods unarmed. Ever again. There is a dead dog in a shack that is in trash bags. Too creepy weird for me.

Did I miss where the LE said he failed the polygraph? I remember PK mentioned something in the radio interview that made it sound more inconclusive.

I think there is a big difference to someone failing it and the other.

Oops...I hope I didn't say he failed the polygraph, but I might have. What I meant/said was he didn't exactly ace the polygraph.

Suicide is a very possible theory too. The things that make me look at PK are the SAR dogs never picking up on her scent, and she had no transportation at home. The scent dogs make me wonder if it was a set of scrubs that she hadn't actually worn to work. Like if something sinister did happen, maybe she'll be found some day in the scrubs she wore to work that morning.

The transportation thing gets me too. If she was that sick (as her coworkers stated) I don't think she could have gone all that far. There have been so many searches in that area and nothing has ever been found. I'm not sure if you could commit suicide and make sure you're hidden when you do it to the point that dogs can't find you.

I keep kicking around the loud motorcycle the neighbors heard. PK said he and his family are into motorcycles, and there are pictures of Tammy on a bike. I wonder if maybe (???) she thought about taking the bike to go wherever she was going and then changed her mind. Or MAYBE the motorcycle the neighbor heard wasn't on their property at all. Maybe it was someone driving by and they just THOUGHT it could have come from the Kingery's driveway. Or maybe somebody was turning around and used part of their driveway to go back the way they had come. There are just so many possibilities and such a lack of clues! If she walked out of her house and got on a motorcycle, her scent really should have been there.

The last thing that makes me go hmmm...searches were called off fairly quickly. I read an article (I don't know how to link from my phone. Sorry!) where PK was talking about bodies of water and other areas that hadn't been searched. We've all seen cases where LE calls off searches for a while, and it seems crazy! But, it usually comes out later that LE had a working knowledge of what happened, and they're just waiting for the perp to make a mistake.

MOO

Since we're kicking around theories about what took place, here's one rattling around the old noggin -
Was any investigation made of where she worked and of co-workers and patients past and present she had contact with.... what are the odds of her taking off one?

I cant help but to wonder more about the older man she was in a romantic relationship with. Im also unclear about his actual date of death and the circumstances surrounding it. Was it suicide? Was he married? If so, did his wife know about his affair and find out who Tammy was? A jilted wife can be a scary thing. If he was married I would imagine the police would want to know her whereabouts when Tammy went missing. Also, if Tammy was still involved with this man at the time of his death I can only imagine the heartache she must have been feeling which may jave greatly added to any depression/medical issues she was struggling with. But that is assuming she was in love with him or at the very least cared for him. I remember reading that there was also a second man she was communicating with and im wondering the same thing about him. Was he married? Could his wife have read their communications and found out Tammys information (name, address etc). Anyone have a name for the deceased man? Are we allowed to discuss him or sleuth him?

I've wondered about who that was also. I believe he lived in Indiana, where Tammy and Park were from. I *think* he commuted suicide a week after Tammy's disappearance. But I will look that up...

Respectfully snipped from above
I have had all the psychiatric info confirmed - the previous suicide attempts including the one where she stabbed herself in the chest. It's so unusual for a woman to commit or attempt suicide in that manner so we should take note of that to say that we can't apply the "usual" or "standard" traits to Tammy
Could the stabbing have been done out of anger/rage, during a blowup, rather than being done while alone? I can see the former happening, while that later would be very unusual.

Regarding
I did speak with Park off air as well and I told him that if she made it home after work that morning
-
Doesn't her prove she made it home? - Or is it possible it was an old note?
The note is most interesting; on a few levels for either party. It buys the addition time of not being seen (the note) till he's back home, versus a text message... While she could have written it spur-of-the-moment, I see it more as part of something that's part of a plan - but who's plan; hers or his?

If she made it home there is still the possibility that the daughter came home and something happened. I feel it's possible that the note is an old note. Essentially the note does not Prove or Disprove anything for me. If it was his ploy then I would expect that he would have allowed several more hours to go by before sounding the alarm and then say he wasn't worried cause she left a note. But he immediately (so we are told) reacted in a way that the note was out of the ordinary and something was wrong. This could put it back on the daughter in my opinion.

I did have a strange private message several months ago suddenly sent to me in facebook by someone who I don't know at all - who was really going out of his way to tell me that she was fine and she left on her own etc - it was very strange to me. I just have a hard time believing she'd leave her kids like that - it's not that it has never happened but it is unusual.

Steve, I must admit I don't have that kind of detail of the chest stabbing incident to know whether it was in the heat of the moment during an argument or whether she was alone.
