Police search for missing Greene County woman, ask for public’s help

Officials with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department are asking the public to be on the lookout for 20-year-old Diana Guzman.
According to deputies, Guzman was last seen at her house in Chuckey late Wednesday night.

They found a body of a 21 year old on Friday in Greene County. It isn't Diana though. She was ID'd as Jessie Morrison.

TBI officials say the body of 21-year-old Jessie Morrison was found by a person walking along Jud Neal Loop in Afton.

Officials say they are investigating the death as a homicide at the request of 3rd District Attorney General Dan Armstrong.

She got off work at her family's restaurant in Jonesborough at 10:30 PM on Wednesday, August 10th. Her mom stated she was home by 12:30 AM on August 11th.

By 8 AM, she allegedly was no longer home. Her car, purse and and cell phone were gone at that point.

Her parents have not heard from her since.

She has not made any calls on her phone since 12:30 AM, August 11th. She is active on FB, but hasn't posted anything since August 10th.

Parents of missing woman say cell phone ping tracked west

Greene County Deputies say parents of missing woman, 20-year-old Diana Guzman, tracked a ping from her phone just west of Knoxville by using iCloud.
They said they saw the ping at about 2 a.m. Thursday morning.
Deputies said her boyfriend lives near Knoxville, that he's been cooperative and is not a suspect.

Authorities Still Searching For Missing Woman

Family members told authorities that she was last seen after working late last Wednesday and did not report for work Thursday morning at her job.
At 8 a.m. on Thursday, Guzman was not at her family's Earnest Drive home. Her car, purse and cellphone were also gone, according to a sheriff deputy's report.

I wonder where she was and who she was with from time she left work and then came home. It makes me think she may have left and snuck out to go meet up w/someone and was never allowed to leave after that?

One week later: No new leads in search for missing Greene County woman

On Sunday, Detective Holt said they took their investigation to the Knoxville area, where authorities said Guzman’s boyfriend lives.
“He lives in a hotel in Loudon, which is just down from where that phone pinged, she never made it to the hotel, we spent all day Sunday watching surveillance at the hotel she never came in, he never left, so no, he’s not a suspect at this time,” Holt said.

Greene County Sheriff’s Office detectives said Guzmán’s phone “pinged” on Aug. 11 at 1:46 a.m. in the Turkey Creek area of Knox County. It later pinged again the next morning around 7 a.m. in the same area.

“The ping actually shows at the Turkey Creek Medical Center, which is right next to Walmart. There is a lot of shopping and eating areas there,” Detective Michelle Holt said.

Holt said police spoke to Guzmán’s boyfriend, who lives 20 minutes from the “ping” location in a hotel, but he had no knowledge of Guzmán’s whereabouts.

GREENE COUNTY, TN (WJHL) – A Greene County woman reported missing more than a week ago has been found dead in Loudon County, TN, the victim of a car crash.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office found the body of Diana Guzman, 20, just after 3pm Saturday.
Detective Michelle Holt told News Channel 11 a TDOT worker found a wallet alongside Interstate 40 at the Interstate 75 interchange on Friday and turned it in to TDOT officials.
Saturday morning, the TDOT employee saw a news report about the search for Diana Guzman and recognized the name from the wallet found Friday.

Holt found Guzman’s car off an embankment in a heavily wooded area. Guzman’s body was found at the scene of the crash.
“Her wallet must have fallen out of the car as it ran off the road,” Holt said.

This one hits hard. The only thing I can say is that I'm glad she died in an accident and not at the hands of a predator.

So very thankful for the TDOT worker who found Diana's wallet, and made the effort after remembering her name, to return to the scene. It is people like her who restore my faith in humanity.

Although this is not the outcome any of us wanted, Diana's family and friends now have some answers, and most importantly, they are able to bring her home. :tears:

I truly hope that when the investigation is complete, Diana's loved ones will be able to find some solace in the information they receive.

She was a truly beautiful person. Her light shined brightly, and it saddens me deeply that her smile is now only a memory to so many.
