Woman bought a home from TK. Called the real estate board to complain about his erratic behavior.

Jennifer Waddell is a hearing specialist. Searched online and found information about TK who was listing agent for a home she wanted to buy.

She bought the home and during the closing meeting, TK bragged about his guns, said he was stressed out and going to shoot guns at the end of the meeting.

JW contacted real estate board. The board had repeated complaints and had to bring TK in several times. TK fled the county to practice real estate somewhere else.

JW contacted Spartanburg about his sex offender status and owning guns. Police told JW that TK had special permission to own a gun.

JW doesn't understand how someone that violent has access to our homes.

TK applied for real estate license with state in 2006. He said yes was convicted but only a verbal argument.

JW angry that TK continued to practice real estate which gave him the money to build the compound to torture people.

Law for real estate background checks started in 2014.

I have a feeling that we are going to find out this guy was brought to LE attention numerous times and nothing was ever done. I think we are going to find out that opportunities were missed to stop him before it got to this point.

I've missed so much on websleuths lately. I have some catching up to do. This guy is very scary, so many red flags disguised as "humor"....the potential victims he could have with that amount of land, and the amount of crazy he is, is a very scary thought.

Also, having trouble typing in websleuths...so I have resorted to typing in notes on my phone and pasting. Makes it much easier if anyone else is having the same troubles!

Just barely made out someone say they found a body under a building on the Fox Carolina feed that has just been running with people talking in the background seemingly unaware that they are still filming.

I hear some people talking in the background too. Yes, I think that they are unaware that their voices are being picked up on the microphone from the live feed. I don't know who they are, but it seems as if they are not anyone official, and are mostly discussing hearsay, the weather, and general chit-chat.

Has anyone here read "The Most Dangerous Game"? It's a short story about a rich guy who lives on island and hunts humans as if he were on safari (big game hunting). I know this is kind of out there but I'm getting that vibe from all of this. Yeah right he was setting up an animal refuge for future generations. NOT! This guy doesn't do anything for anyone but himself. Anything is possible at this stage.

I agree. Earlier I was wondering why no one figured out he was a sex offender with guns. Turns out this woman did, but nothing was done about it. And repeated complaints to the real estate board, too! I would like to applaud Ms. Waddell for having the guts to say something.

I actually thought of The Most Dangerous Game earlier today when I was on his FB page. I can't find the post right now, but someone mentioned hunting on his land, a woman IIRC, and he said something about them coming out and he'd give them a head start in the woods. Shudder.

The crimes committed by TK are horrific and there is probably much more we will learn in the days to come. Lets focus on his crimes rather than commentary on his appearance.

It's all the reporters. Live streaming crime scenes is still very new to reporters and camera operators, so they forget they are continuously on the air. Had this happen at a station I work at where they've said a few unsavoury things.. yikes!

I take no issue with the neighbors. I was shocked they knew he was a sex offender is all. I already addressed this in another post. Please don't think I was bashing the neighbors.

Why are you shocked they would know? I know in many states you can search to see if any RSO live near you. I know I've done it numerous times. I think it's smart to stay informed.

Solicitor: Kidnapping victim saw sex offender shoot boyfriend


During Friday's hearing, Barnette said KB was found chained by her neck and ankles, requiring first responders to go through multiple locks to rescue her. She was located after investigators said her cell phone pinged a tower near Wofford Road. The last contact KB had was with Kohlhepp to discuss plans to meet him, the solicitor revealed in court.

A spokesperson for the family of KB's boyfriend, Charlie Carver, said the couple met Kohlhepp online and were casual friends with him. Carver has not been found.

KB reportedly told investigators she saw Kohlhepp shoot Carver, according to the solicitor. On Friday, the Spartanburg County Coroner's Office will called out to the scene where KB was held hostage due to the discovery of a body. The remains have not yet been identified.

No bond was set for Kohlhepp on the kidnapping charge. His first court appearance will be in General Sessions on Jan. 19 at 9 a.m.

I also read that they found out her last communication (before going missing) was with him. Don't know if it was online or by phone, but shudder to think that investigators didn't bother checking that until two months in. I REALLY hope I read that wrong.

I am so confused by all of this. I really hope they didn't know about the contact and whatnot weeks or months ago!

Is the feed still live? I just uploaded video of the 4 hour live feed from earlier. At least, I think it's old. It's hard to tell.

Now, all of that being said......I would have found it weird and very odd that the man had a large tract of land such as that and he had it fenced with a 6 ft. chain link fence. I would have found that VERY odd. The only reason anyone in the country has a fence like that is if they keep deer or some other type of wild game in a preserve type situation, and is 6 ft. chain link even tall enough for that? I doubt it. I saw he stated on facebook that he did that so his dogs could run, but that doesn't make much sense to country folks. But, naturally the first thing that would come to mind is that he's just a city boy that doesn't know any better, not that he's keeping hostages on his property. It would be weird, but not weird enough to really raise any suspicions.

Snipped for space- 8 ft is the absolute minimum for deer and most game farms I've seen use 8 ft+ sloped/slanted fence at the top or 10 ft +. Chain link fence is pretty expensive and doesn't hold up spectacularly over time.

I think this guy has watched a few too many prepper shows. I wouldn't be surprised if the shipping container was a planned underground bunker. Berms and tunnels to go right with that bunker. The chain link was to keep people out in a SHTF situation (or possibly an LE raid). Ammo stashes and multiple firearms kind go with this. His Amazon also reminds me of the extreme prepper wishlist. I wouldn't be surprised if that metal working book was to make silencers/suppressors. I don't think BATFE would have handed a convicted felon a tax stamp for one.

If I didn't know he was keeping some poor woman in a shipping container and hoarding bodies on his property, I'd think he was just kind of a weird guy with a twisted sense of humor.

Thanks for clarifying that. I had gone to the beginning of this thread and all the way through and each and every one that I saw talking about the dog crate...said it was missing.

Is it odd (and I mentioned this earlier but no one seemed to notice in the flurry of activity) that if you google his email, the 5th listing that pops up is for a different Todd in Ohio that apparently uses the same email address for his real estate business. Same Todd, different name? Or am I grasping here?
