Hi all, this is my first post, so please go easy on me. :)

I started following this story/case yesterday so have mainly read posts, pages, tweets and other information.

In all my searching no one appears to have posted a map of the CCTV. The FindCorrie website page setup states "There is not 100% coverage in the area and therefore police are broadening the search for CCTV images and continuing to view the footage already collected."

After some brief searching, I located a PDF overlay of the town: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/319850/response/802518/attach/5/Bury St Edmunds.pdf

I'm sure Suffolk Police has been more than diligent in its search of the area and securing any and all CCTV, but this might help someone; perhaps a CCTV Google maps collaborative effort?

Physics directs he didn't disappear, but only full access to all CCTV might yield a result. Some things might also be considered: he wasn't seen walking from the area, but that's assuming the 'horseshoe' was under constant surveillance. Unlikely. Also, while the CCTV camera was turned away, a vehicle could have collected him upon request or by force, but if the camera were not watching, there would be no lead - again, I'm sure all of this has occurred to Suffolk Police, and I doubt there is anything I can personally add, but different perspectives help, sometimes.

At that time in the morning, with most revellers being tired and/or drunk, the chances of someone remembering him is slim. Even if they did recall seeing him, getting any further information such as where he went will be difficult. Key pieces are missing.

I welcome any thoughts.

Thanks,
Adam.

So could corrie have met someone from this accommodation or from the centre and arranged to meet and stay in one of these flats for his alcohol (ab)use? More importantly can you leave by a different exit, stay one night if you are in a fix or even stay with a friend who lives there? If he has taken advantage of such rehabilitation wouldn't it be anonymous? Remember one of the reasons for the fundraising? Wasn't it for his mental or physical welfare upon his return? I couldn't see a better way than this for fitting the few facts we have right now. Binning the phone could even be a requirement to sever all contact. JMO.
Am reposting my thoughts from 22 Dec which were commented on then as the most ridiculous scenario ever but please have another look. Also, do these premises have a door out on the other side? I would think they would if only for fire escape purposes.

Okay, this is my first post, so I hope its okay. I just found something interesting. I have been looking into the ALLEGED sighting of Corrie -

" O
fficers were called by a man who told them he had been driving in the area when he spotted a man in light clothing at the back of a sugar beet factory at around 4.20am."

Link here

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/10/24/possible-sighting-of-missing-raf-serviceman-corrie-mckeague

I looked on googlemaps, and to walk from the horseshoe (last sighting 3.24am) to the Sugar Beet factory (ALLEGED sighting 4.20am) would be 26 mins. This leaves 30 mins to allow for drunken walking and the event of leaving the horseshoe if we assume for a second that he did manage to leave undetected for some reason.

So I google the sugar beet factor to ensure I got the address correct, and look what I find:

http://www.eadt.co.uk/news/unexplod..._bury_st_edmunds_in_sugar_beet_load_1_4777819

Then more searching to see if there have been any other similar incidents, and i find this which took place a few weeks before Corrie went missing.

http://www.eadt.co.uk/news/bomb_disposal_unit_called_to_bury_st_edmunds_1_4688637

I just find this very odd. Maybe it's just due to there being a relatively heavy army presence what with a few bases in the area, that these things happen, but it just seemed to ring alarm bells towards terrorist activity, especially considering the attempted abduction at Marham ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-36906031 )

I'll keep digging!

The alleged sighting of Corrie wasn't behind the sugar beet factory per se, but on Hollow Road; I realise you are new and I've mentioned on here before that the road has housing so wouldn't be unusual for someone to be walking that way, depending how far along the road it was.

Lived around Bury nearly 20 years and WW2 bombs being dug up with sugar beet and delivered to the factory isn't at all unusual!

Since the following from last night's Facebook Live Q&A session has been reported in MSM, it is open for discussion in this thread:

Mrs Urquhart said she wants a man seen walking along Cornhill Walk in the town at 03:35 BST to be identified.

[...]

She explained how four vehicles had entered the "horseshoe" area where Mr Mckeague was last seen and that she believes one of them did not have a legitimate reason for being there.

[...] also said three men had set fire to a vehicle not far from the site the next day, which she thought was "highly suspicious".

[...]

"[Corrie] will make choices and decisions that are sometimes reckless that other people might not."

Please continue to discuss anything else from the FB Live chat in the thread in the parking lot. Posts in this thread referencing anything from the chat other than what has been reported in MSM will be removed.

Thanks :)

I might be missing something that has already been discussed, my apologies if I have but I'm just curious, out if six images of unidentified people, why has this one has been deemed to be the most vital to Nicola?
I'm just trying to figure out what information could potentially be known to the family/police but isnt in the public domain which would lead to this individuals importance

Welcome Cappsi. There is a simple cctv map earlier in the thread which I think came from TW and is also available on www.findcorrie.co.uk and there also others on here posted by midsummer. Marky also posted a spreadsheet showing possible gaps. If they could be reposted it may help us all. Your thoughts are helpful.

I'm gonna suggest a female with small breasts or a male.
More than likely a male as the chest area isn't big enough for a female and neither are the hips. The shoulder tops seem bigger than a females. I'm also tempted to say short hair, thinning or bold as the person appears to have a shiny head. I can't see this being a woman along with this style of haircut, slim hips and a small chest? The left arm looks raised which suggests operating a phone (holding it and texting with the other hand?). The 'look down' head would match that theory. Looks like a light coloured, short sleeve shirt or blouse with darker trousers to me?

Since noone else has mentioned it this is no doubt a silly question. Does noone else see the left arm raised to shoulder height and a large item being carried? Looks like a case, full bag ? Or are my eyes deceiving me ?

Nope - still the most unlikeliest of unlikeliest scenarios. We have no evidence of "alcohol abuse" and drinking and socialising in the RAF is a big part of the culture. If he had a drinking problem then there would be plenty of support within the RAF with no real threat to his career.

Lusijay do you have the route that google gave for walking out the horseshoe? Was it up looms lane or short brackland? The timings are interesting. Welcome aboard.

Just to dispel or prove my 'male/female' theory...does it look like a handbag? Female opinions welcome.

to me it looks like his left arm is wrapped around it with his right arm helping to carry it, something heavy. not a skateboard or handbag though.

Seems everyone is seeing something different, I see a guy in a bike helmet, carrying a spare helmet, resting it against their stomach.

What about the Marham visits mentioned in TW radio interview and the lifestyle mentioned by the SC interviews both previously linked on here? Also he may have known someone attending and just stayed the one night leaving after 8 a.m. JMO.

I'd be surprised if anyone could positively identify someone from those grainy black and white CCTV images. Though I suppose they're hoping someone local might spot themselves and might then come forward, even if it's just to say they didn't see anything.

I've been following this case on and off for a few weeks and I'm leaning towards a hookup gone wrong. I just can't see any other reason why he'd have gone off with someone - and I think he did voluntarily leave BSE that night due to the lack of evidence regarding any struggle and his mother's comments that he was very confident and thought he could look after himself.

Defo carrying something. Also could be a teen or a woman. S/he looks short when compared to other figures from same camera. The direction walking is away from horseshoe is it? Where are the council cctv images of this person? Did they evade all other cameras? JMO.

Hello all, I have been intrigued in this case since I first heard about it and I have been reading over the threads on here over the last few days. Corrie struck a chord with me as there are a few things I have learned that remind me of myself a few years ago. I was around the same age and an airman from Scotland based in England, hardly unusual I suppose but his actions to me seemed unusual. I struggled with depression at various times during my career in the military and its only looking back now a few years later I can recognise it.

Living away from home at that age can be lonely and although the military can be close knit group I found that routine of working all week and then a drinking culture at the weekend soon took its toll on me. Coupled with tours to Afghanistan etc and you soon have a few different strains on a young person's mental health.

I find his actions leading up to the disappearance strange. Having a dog in military accommodation is completely unheard of as far as I know, were the RAF aware of this? And if so why was it allowed, were they making exceptions for him knowing he was having some issues?

He drove to BSE on his own that night, why? They say he missed his mates but I find this slightly strange, young guys that age are constantly txting/whatsapping etc so why did he not go with them? Could he have been not getting along with the guys on his squadron? Why did no one leave with him, or see phone to check on him? I know everyone is saying corrie was known to make his own way home but I find it strange that since they were all going the same way he couldn't have made contact with one of them and simply met them for a taxi back to base. This especially rings true after sleeping in a door way for hours and then txting someone when he woke up?

Also the phoning his brother for an hour whilst sitting in his car. Maybe this was normal for Corrie but I don't know many young guys that would sit on there phone for that amount of time on a Saturday night. Especially knowing his mates are partying a couple of minutes away. Makes me think he was having some problems and maybe confiding in his brother.

All pure speculation on my part and I appreciate all of the above could be completely untrue. I am just trying to relate my personal experiences as a young man in the military with what I have seen in Corrie. I put myself in some dangerous situations looking back and have been in much worse states than corrie looked to be in in that night and in far more dangerous places. I have a feeling I can't shake that he wasn't a happy lad and maybe was struggling a bit with his situation.

Some very interesting discussion on here and have enjoyed reading everyone's opinions. Thanks

Welcome stepmeek. Very interesting to read your experiences and comparisons,
I find that type of information valuable, though you say speculation that is mostly all we have to go on.
Your post does give some insight nevertheless. Thanks.

Thanks for doing the Parking Lot thread last night GT - much appreciated (especially as I had to go to bed early & missed the live Q&A).

From the article above 2 things pop out for me. I feel for Nicola, I really do. It's at times like this we can look back at our teenage/20's behaviour and realise what we put our parents through but with the relief that we all got through (relatively) unscathed

Anyway, the 2 things that pop out to me are

1/ "three men had set fire to a vehicle not far from the site the next day, which she thought was "highly suspicious"."
Yup, I agree with Nicola here. The vehicle was a van, but whether that is one of the "4 vehicles of interest" is unknown to us at this time.

2/ "He will make choices and decisions that are sometimes reckless that other people might not. Would he get into a stranger's car? Yes. Would he go to a stranger's house that he's never met before that he's met on a social dating site? Yes. He would put himself at risk because Corrie believed he could handle himself."
Sadly it looks like Nicola has reached the same thinking that many of us had from very early on. That can't have been an easy realisation to make :(

P.S. Bringing my map forwards from previous post - Greater Than could you possibly include it in new threads please? :)

stepmeek - Your provides a very interesting insight - so thank you. Phoning his brother a lot - and speaking to him for an hour on the night of his disappearance - does seem to suggest he was perhaps missing home and/or was having some personal issues. He seemed very excited about them going out in London and when a person is feeling a bit down they will often focus on the things they've got to look forward to in order to lift their spirits and get them through the tougher times.

to me it looks like his left arm is wrapped around it with his right arm helping to carry it, something heavy. not a skateboard or handbag though.

I have always thought from the shape of what the person is carrying, that it might be a small child with the legs hanging down, toes facing the body of the person doing the carrying.

I agree that it seems strange (to me) for a young lad to make such a long phone call. The 4 calls during the day don't add up to me. Yes lots of texts WhatsApp etc but 4 phone calls?
