Was that the Midlothian Police Officer who was shot after going undercover at the high school? I watched that story on ID. There was a female's home that was burglarized involved in the story of the narc who was shot and killed, Officer George Raffield. A Dallas PO's son was one of the two young men convicted of Raffield's death.

That was a drug undercover cop from Dallas who was sent to clean up the so called drug problem Midlothian thought they had. It was not related to my friend's buglary. I cant remember now which happened 1st. Now that I think of it I believe she was robbed in 85 I moved there in 86 and people at the courthouse were attacking me saying I said that was a good town lol. Back then no one knew where Midlothian was and it was long distance to call Dallas. My 1st phone bill was 350 dollars YIKES.

That killer was not from Midlothian originally, he was from Arizona I think, his daddy was a Dallas PD and he used his gun to do the shooting. All these lawyers were talking about it at lunch one day. They were noting the boy who just rode along and only watched was 17 he could have been put to death but the one that did the shooting could only get life. Turned out they both got 45 years. The 17 year old did get out some years ago and last I heard the killer still in prison. It was a big deal or the media made a big deal out of it. I remember drving to work and seeing all the Dallas PD horse trailers going south on 67, I though wow there must be a parade. Did I ever get a shock when I got to the courthouse. Will never forget it and those court clerks were really questioning me and almost attacking me. I told them " it is a good town, dont you see this is why it is making news" in Dallas it happens all the time. Was very painful for our town.

looks like the murder was 10/1987 I moved there 11/86 so I had been living there 1 year before it happened. Long enough for everyone I knew at the time to know that was my hometown.

Here's a link from an interview of an Austin Crime Scene Specialist -it's an interesting read.
"by the time we leave it could have been 8-20 hours after we arrived on scene"
http://www.daconfidential.com/2009/12/question-and-answer-crime-scene.html

I'm sure this varies by scene, department protocol, experience, etc. While I was googling for an answer I've seen as few as 5 hours.

Here's some info on how to process a scene

Yep, I found the same thing back in the early days of this case. Back when so many were saying that LE knew exactly what they were doing and that an arrest was imminent.

One more picture to ponder.....as I watched the video again and again, I enlarged it as much as possible and was able to grab this photo. This view was taken before they park and I believe in back of the building. Try and enlarge the photo yourself to look more closely. My feeling hasn't changed, I still see a female driving the car with brown hair, as well as strands of her hair sweeping across her left shoulder, and hair tucked behind her left ear. Further, I see someone behind her in the back seat, almost leaning on the back of the driver's seat so to view where the driver is driving? Or trying to stay hidden. On another interesting note, it appears there is an object on the dashboard but not sure what it is. Any thoughts?
I see a dog in the backseat
I'm unable to attach the picture

did I use the word " liars" ? No I said fibbed slightly there is a slight difference and BTW, I didnt say there was anything wrong with it, sometimes it takes a crook to catch a crook. I might add that car was performing in ways that make you go Hummm since a major crime was commited just across the street a few hours later. IMO something was up with that car.

Oh, we were so young and innocent then.

Looking at the lengthy video of the COI (car of interest!) in the parking lot in the rain, it occurs to me that the driver was driving around the lot in a very similar way as the perp wandered around the church. Surely the driver would expect the lot to have security video? Yet, s/he drove around the lot as if to make sure to get on camera. What other purpose would there be? Maybe nervous energy? IDK, but the movement of the car reminded me of the movement in the church.

And, I noticed when the car pulled out of the lot, the driver used the blinker. I thought that was telling. It was the middle of the night with little traffic (though there was indeed some traffic)....to me, that shows an otherwise law-abiding citizen. It was not a "reckless" driver tearing around the parking lot or zooming out of the lot to the road, but a careful driver. Even when parked in the lot for a few minutes, the driver pulled into a designated space when s/he could've just parked anywhere in any fashion.

FWIW, JMO.

The blinker thing struck me as being odd, too. The perp is coming out of an empty parking lot and puts his blinker. Plus, he puts it on as he's making the turn. I honestly think, based on the strange car behavior of stopping and starting, lights off, then on, then off, and of course the bizarre behavior in the church, that he/she is a few cards short of a full deck. He/she even walks like a dud. I know he's been elusive for a very long time, but I think the person was mentally slow. JMHO

The driver knows police would like to speak to them by now, imo (unless the driver was passing through town)
Also, why would the driver turn headlights off as soon as s/he turned into the SWFA lot? I can't think of any good reason unless something sketchy happening.

I look at it this way; LE would not ever put out a statement saying that the driver of the car could possibly be involved in a brutal murder but could the driver please contact them. If course LE is going to say the driver isn't suspect.

MB's personal transformation in life still inspires me to get in better physical shape. As some may remember, I posted of that inspiration and how I started working out with a trainer at a time when lifting a gallon of milk was becoming difficult for me and I had to use a cart to get the dog chow into the house from the car. I kept at it, thinking of MB when I really wanted to quit. I am still going, twice a week for my workout. I still hate it, but I do it anyway.

Not only do I feel better, have more strength and stamina but my cholesterol dropped 90 points back into the safe zone, my blood sugar fell out of the pre-diabetic range and I no longer need pharmaceuticals to remedy these issues. I sleep better and no longer have aches or pain that requires so much as an aspirin.

Plus, I no longer need a housekeeper. I can handle the manual labor without hurting myself unlike before. I would say it is a miracle but it is really just a blessing from above and I now have $5,200 more per year in my pocket so I can take a trip or splurge on a purchase once in a while.

Am I 45 years old again? No, that mark passed over 2 decades ago but I am a much healthier retiree.

Thank you MB. You are still my inspiration.

I urge you all to get inspired by MB's life transformation story rather than dwell on her horrible murder. I think she would prefer it that way.

Really nice tribute, TeaTime. So nice to hear a positive take on this tragic crime. You go girl!!!:yourock:

Off topic - How about the Cowboys? :18 sec left in the 4th and tied up

Sorry - couldn't resist!

At about 15:55 he starts talking the license plate. And to me it does not look like a Texas plate. I can see it possible being California, or New - --something, or Pure Michigan. The 2nd character he's speaking about looks like it could be part a Wyoming plate. In other words I don't have a clue.

Can someone with magical zooming powers give us a better look and tell us the state?
Imho...not following closely but I am thinking the reason this case hasn't been solved is perhaps the perp or perp's is/are not local.

welcome and you know what this means, cops fibbed just slightly when they said car was not related so what about folks they said were cleared? things that make you go Hummmm

Great observation! Thanks, DC!!!

I think that could be a possibility. I would think the police have seen the local POIs and their walk by now and would know who
It is. However, they may know who it is but need more evidence to convict.
