Ron Logan has owned that piece of land for 53 years and said that the discovery of the girls’ bodies on his property is something he still hasn’t been able to come to terms with.
“To have something like this in your own house, your own home - I just can’t get my mind around it yet, it’s really difficult,” said Logan. “I can’t comprehend it.”Ron Logan has owned that piece of land for 53 years and said that the discovery of the girls’ bodies on his property is something he still hasn’t been able to come to terms with.
“"When they said the two girls were missing I never thought the worst," said

Logan "I just figured well they got into the car and got with someone else like teenagers do."

Logan said that with the steep embankments and rough terrain on the back end of his property, it would be difficult to even make it to the location, let alone carry two bodies down and drop them off.
“For them to get from there to all the way here with that rough territory they had to walk, you couldn’t carry them in a million years or drag them or drop them off,” said Logan. “They had to walk.”

His language regarding "the car" has always been strange to me, as well as "my house". While I don't believe he is BG, I think he knows more than he is saying. I also wonder with the timing of the search of his property, if he gave some information that prompted the search warrant and is being kept in a safe environment until this is resolved. MOO

i think if he needed protection that they would put someone outside his home to protect him instead of putting him behind bars. i don't think it was information that he did give them that prompted the search, but instead because of information he did not give them. he was not truthful in all of this statements to LE that raised their suspicion.

So, any discussion allowed about the True Crime Garage podcasts this week about this crime?

So with the BBR search and then this one both so public LE learned by those events? Eg maybe lots of false tips and wild goose chases? 13 other search warrants with 2 additional locations I know of being Peru and Lebanon IIRC.
I just mean I think it's why the reporters backed off other searches, they focussed on RL then maybe made other decisions regarding covering others. Imo always

This is one of the few cases where people keep saying LE is building a case. LE connects dots and finds evidence. Attorneys build a case.

In the previous thread I put a link to Fox 59 or was it Fox 9 and in it there was a prosecutor who gave his thought/insight into this case. So yes I believe lawyers are already working the case diligently. But still wonder if all evidence has been tested and if so what's the hold up of releasing something else to the public in order to get the perp/perps behind bars where they belong asap. Justice for Liberty and Abigail very soon I hope :) JMO

RSBM
He was jailed for having access to his vehicle, driving to the dump and for having a beer when his probation stated he should not.

yes, i know that. he violated every part of his probation. my response was that he was not put in jail for his "protection" as suggested.

I'm listening to True Crime Garage now:

https://www.truecrimegarage.com/listen

Thanks to the poster for the rec!! Looks like they have 2 podcasts.

(I'm happy to listen, but they are getting some facts wrong right off the bat. As I recall there was no school that Monday. Not simply half day of school.)

This reply is for the person who asked why the 6000 billboards went up if RL is the person responsible/BG.

RL did a couple of interviews in the first day or two after the murders. The billboards went up relatively quickly as well. I suspect LE and a lot of other people watched those video clips of RL and noticed how he walked with hands in pockets, head down. Maybe LE believed his alibi at the beginning but as time progressed his story started to unravel. (IMO). I also believe it wasn't by chance that an interviewer specifically asked RL to say "down the hill" in an interview. There is a reason LE let the media know about the search at RL's property in March. There is a reason the media was at the court house and RL had a who's who in LE escorting him for appearances/sentencing.
We know LE has stated that other people have been arrested for outstanding issues during the course of this investigation or had their property searched but why is RL the ONLY named person?

I don't know if he committed the murders but I do believe he is either involved or knows who did it.

RBBM

Respecfully, local LE already knew RL. He was not a stranger to them, having lived there for over 50 years and been arrested before.

Besides the difference in appearance between RL and BG, which has been the biggest point for me, I have great difficulty imagining a motive. moo

I am still on the fence re RL. If I was in his shoes I wouldn't talk to LE. From the beginning RL was a talker and I think, JMO, he felt good about being able to talk about the area because he has lived there for a long time and knew more about the terrain than most people. Personally I just can not see him killing the girls. The fence issue for me is: did he see something or did he tamper with crime evidence that he found on his property? There are so many more things we do not know in this case. LE could be talking to more ppl and/or going in a different direction with another POI that Websleuths has on this thread. LE's first priority is solving a case, not giving out info to the general public. I should add, a lot of ppl from the beginning verbally stated that RL was the killer but we as the public do not have all the facts to say guilty or not guilty. I truly think a SK can not be ruled out in this case. MOO

I've listened to them. I love TCG, but I was pretty disappointed with these episodes. As another WS poster mentioned, they got some of the facts wrong right out of the gate and more here and there along the way. Also, way too much rumor and speculation cited from a Blog that I have absolutely no confidence in IMO. I mean this blogger also tries to convince everyone that Bigfoot is real. If that's your thing... great, but its certainly not mine and I find it hard to take anything that guy says seriously. Anyway, all just MOO.

But I thought on a billboard the time stamp was 2:30. Something about last seen or BG was seen. Perhaps that was the snapchat photo time? Because the pictures snapped of Abby and BG, LE could decipher the time.

Your memory about 2:30 is correct. BG last seen at 2:30 was on one version of the 6000 billboards.

SO behind I thought I posted this reply already, LOL - Just for future reference.;

Where are the nosy, aggressive reporters that we used to have when cases like this happened? The ones that forced LE to give updates, even if the update was "we still have nothing." I don't get it.

I don't think there are any real reporters any more. Reporters used to have to investigate, find and use more than one source for facts, then coherently report and/or write the story. There was genuine competition so they always wanted to scoop the competition but it also had to be accurate. When news became a 24 hour thing it was all about the scoop- everyone wanted to be first with the story and everything else went out the window. Now they don't even seem competitive, one comes up with a story and they all copy each other. If the story isn't accurate often the original journalist will correct and the others don't even bother.

People are referring to it as "fake" news and only think it refers to politics because that is what they follow; but I find it in every subject, not just politics. I don't see it as fake news as much as "lazy" news because they don't seem to put out the effort any more to really investigate and report things like they should. I read an AP article yesterday that had nothing to do with politics or this case, it was so badly written I could not make heads or tails out of it. Most 5th graders write better than that AP reporter, professionalism even at the top seems to be a lost art.

I just spent much more time than I should have snipping and removing posts that violate TOS.

Some of you should take a break from this case for a bit and explore some of our thousands of other cases.

Stop the snark, stop the right-fighting, stop the personalized posts.

This thread is not about you. It is about Abby and Libby. Please try to remember that and think before you post. Use the helpful "ignore" feature if you truly cannot stand to read a certain poster's opinions.

Reasons some may feel RL holds info or could be peripherally involved might include:

He WAS out driving that day, going to and from, so may have seen activity or person (s) of interest also outside around there at that time.

A neighbor came to his door around 6:30 asking if it was OK to search his property and they may have had additional conversation.

What neighbor found the girls? Could it be same one? If so, ironic.

Said neighbor may have seen activity or person (s) and mentioned to RL.

He has lived there more than 50 yrs, likely knows those nearby who have lived there too, present and past, and perhaps knows a lot of their personal info so may know something that way as in a link from one person to another including possible shady personalities or connections.

He may have had someone staying with him in Feb, or off and on, or in the past who could be involved somehow.

Perhaps someone borrowed his truck that day or on occasion in the past.

He may know who frequents the bridge, who hunts in the area or just likes to walk the woods.

Someone he knows in the area may have unusual interest in young girls or other traits or habits that are odd.
He may feel he strongly recognized BG and even told LE and could be fearful hence his serving time is warranted yes but also not entirely undesirable to him as it keeps him safe from harm until an arrest when perhaps he will get off on time served. (Sentence does seem a bit heavy handed to me.)

May have picked up a rider while he was leaving/returning that day.

May have seen a vehicle parked in the vicinity and possibly even approached driver inquiringly or had some interaction of sorts about it.

He may be suspicious of a neighbor and asked questions that caused the neighbor to share info that RL then shared with LE putting him at risk and thereby involving him.

He may have a friend or relative who visited day before, night before, that morning.

He may pay someone to do work for him on occasion and this person may be involved or brought someone along at times who may be.

He may know more about drug use or nefarious activity in the area than we would think!

He may have seen a car or person multiple times scouting the area but did not think much of it at the time.

Maybe he attends community meetings that bring him in contact with someone of interest.

Some one has done some work on his truck and been around the area?

May know transients in the area?

He likely knows delivery persons in the area if he sees them regularly OR may know of a delivery to the area That day, saw delivery truck, etc.

Many ways he cld be involved, not just that they were left on his land which was likely by happenstance I would think. IDK!!! Just thoughts!!!!

Yes I know that is why I was reiterating to emphasize that point.

This is one of the few cases where people keep saying LE is building a case. LE connects dots and finds evidence. Attorneys build a case.
LE (investigators) and prosecutors build cases to charge someone with a crime. attorneys representing the accused build their own case on why their client didn't do it.
