Metro Police are looking for a man who's been missing for nearly two weeks.

Bret Broffman Jr. was likely headed to the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, TN on or about June 7, according to police.

Broffman's vehicle was found in Glasgow, KY on June 7 in the area of Veterans Outer Loop and Franks Mill Road.

Broffman is white, 27 years old, 5'10" and weighs 140 pounds.

[h=1]Human remains found in Glasgow[/h]

Glasgow Police say they are assisting the Louisville Metro Police Department in the investigation after human remains were found in the area of Veterans Outer Loop and Frank Mills Road.

"Today we were notified by Louisville Metro Air Unit that they had located a deceased body laying in a ravine back behind Veterans Outer Loop," says Sgt. Terry Flatt, Public Information Officer for the Glasgow Police Department.

Police say the remains appear to be a man.

Police say the skeletal remains could be linked to a missing persons investigation that has been going on between the two police departments since last summer.


LMPD says no information can be released until they have identified the body.

UPDATE: GLASGOW, Ky. (WBKO) - Although neither Glasgow Police nor Louisville Metro will confirm the identity of the body, last June 13 News reported that Glasgow Police had found an abandoned vehicle in the same general area where the dead body was discovered Thursday.

Back in June, investigators told us the car belonged to 27-year-old Bret Broffman, Junior of Louisville who they said was likely on his way to the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tennessee.
Both Glasgow Police and Louisville Metro are continuing their investigations.

The Glasgow Police Department has released the name of the person whose remains were discovered off of Veterans Outer Loop in 2018.

According to the police department, the remains are those of Bret Broffman Jr. of Louisville.

Death of Bret Broffman Jr. is now a criminal investigation

Now, the detective can proceed in the investigation, which he is calling criminal. However, he said since it is early in the investigation, he does not want to jump to any conclusions and hopes no one else will jump to conclusions, either.

“We are working it as a criminal investigation until we can prove otherwise,” Atwood said. “So at this point, we’ll go back and try to come up with a good timeline for back when he did disappear: where he’d been, what he’d been doing, who he’d been with.”

Atwood said he intends to re-interview everyone who was initially interviewed when this was a missing person’s case. He hopes that could lead to details that might not have been understood before. He said there could be physical evidence that was found with the remains or in Broffman’s car, which was returned to the family after it was processed, that could help in the investigation. However, Atwood could not go into detail since it is an active case.
