His instagram has "Love my kids and grandchildren". I saw her (MD) facebook page this morning, but now it's gone, but didn't hers also say "Love my kids and grandchildren"? Not sure what I'm getting at, but just seems weird that both of them would use the same quote? I'm not trying to make a big deal out of something, but caught my eye.

I notice that Danley is being described as Paddock's "companion" or "room mate" rather than wife or partner. It makes me wonder what her relationship to him was.

Police say shooter, Stephen Paddock, apparently had some identification from Danley on his person.

This does not seem like an Isis attack to me. They usually make sure the victims hear who it is that is attacking them.

OMG!!! I'm in complete shock!! Just waking up to this news this morning!! Praying for all those affected by this horrible tragedy.

We had tickets for the TIm McGraw and Faith Hill concert last month. I kept saying to my husband I didn't know if I wanted to go because of something like this. He convinced me everything was going to be ok and it was an awesome concert and I'm glad I went~~but I don't think I'll be going to anymore concerts in the future.

Interesting. This is a different definition of terrorism that we've traditionally used in Europe where terrorism is invariably connected with attempting to force political change rather than perpetrating violence for its own sake.

I stand corrected in the US context.

You're not wrong, that is typically how it has been defined here too. Perhaps it's changing, and I guess that could make sense. It's not like he had individual grievances with that many people, it's clearly an attack on the group as a whole. That has to have some kind of motive, unless you were dealing with someone totally disconnected from reality which doesn't seem to be the case from what we know so far.

Could it have been anticipated that off duty cops and military personnel might attend a county music festival, and if so could they have been the intended targets?

TBH I'm not sure a country music festival would be the sort of thing to attract foreign tourists in any great numbers.

If that is his actual instagram, then it would appear he was calling her his wife. Maybe she decided to leave him?
