I literally said it was a joke. Their showers were awesome. Really???

Yeah....ok no problem. But it was tough times for the employees that lost their jobs to managerial/investment negligence. To which, I've heard about too often.

LE said yesterday they had a lot of security video to review. They're probably starting to come across some new information.

I'm guessing he had other business dealings and associates his gf wasn't aware of.

The lawyer relayed the statement really awkwardly IMO. Anyway, so she thought the trip home and $100k wire was to break up with her, but did she ask him why he sent all that money? Like i mentioned yesterday, he had to have either had all of her Philippines bank info saved somewhere, or he had to ask her for the account number and Swift code in order to send the wire. I mean if my SO wired me $100k to buy a home I’d question it.

I’m not sure I believe she knew what he was going to do, but I don’t think the statement her lawyer read is the real story. JMO and subject to change.

I think I will go with the idea that she is a victim who knows that lying to the government is a quick shot to jail or deportation if she is not a citizen. (I am sure her counsel has advised she be truthful as well.)

His brother also (in his rambling interview) mentioned he would do things like send money or spend money without reservation and generously. I think the guy who knew him indicated the same. In my opinion, his brother is also a victim. I watched the whole interview and thought he needed a good lawyer to help him sort out what to share and what not to share.

I can't imagine having someone I loved be a monster like this. So I am just going to follow the lead of the government, which seems to be that these are victims as well. As always, JMHO

How so? You can't detain a person unless they've done something worth detaining them. A well check would have likely resulted in police knocking on his door, seeing he's alive and coherent, and moving along. How would that have stopped him? He did nothing illegal up until the moment he pulled the trigger the first time.

Where I live we have the Mental Health Act. The police take you to the hospital for an assessment. As a result you may have all your firearms seized. I don't know the process in Nevada. However if the girlfriend had noticed that his mental health was deteriorating and made a call and the police attended at the very least he would have been on the radar and maybe that would have prevented him from acquiring so many weapons. I am not sure how somebody hoards so many firearms and nobody thinks it's a red flag.

If he told her about it he risked her telling someone else. I believe he kept it from her. He put a lot of time into this plan and anyone knowing might have interfered with his ability to carry it out.

In days to come, we'll probably see more examples of how he "compartmentalized" his life, hiding things away from family, etc. Probably because he was an authoritarian obsessed with privacy, but also because he was protecting them from knowing about his other activities and business dealings. JMO

A lot of people own, collect, or deal guns. When does it become a red flag? Who do you call, and what do you say, I know it's legal but my boyfriend owns a lot of guns?

I think you’re taking my comment far too personally. All of AC is suffering. Bad.

My comment made no reference to the workers. How many companies have gone down bc of managerial and investment negligence? Many.

Revel closed in 2014. I was there the last night. It was depressing but IMO all of the employees remaining knew it was coming. AC is a disaster.

ETA it’s design surely had a huge impact on the issues leading to closing. Have you been there? Those awkward escalators?? The whole place was laid out terribly. Non smoking?? Come on.

Family members and former neighbors were shocked to see Ms. Danley’s name surface in connection with the shooting on news reports, as the police sought to find her hours after Mr. Paddock killed himself in his hotel room.

“She’s probably one of the most happy, outgoing, full-of-life people I’ve ever known,” said Dionne Waltrip, Ms. Danley’s former stepdaughter, who lives outside Fayetteville, Ark. “Everyone who has ever met her likes her.”
Ms. Waltrip said her father, Geary Danley, traveled the world as an auditor for FedEx and met his future wife overseas.
Ms. Danley has ties to the Philippines, and several news reports said she was born there. She spent many years in Australia, where news reports said she was married, and is an Australian citizen.

After meeting Mr. Danley, she moved to Memphis. The couple wed in 1990 and their marriage lasted 25 years.

Ms. Danley worked retail jobs, selling mostly clothing and jewelry. Both she and Mr. Danley had children from prior relationships. Ms. Waltrip was 20 when the couple got together; Ms. Danley has a daughter who now lives in California. The couple moved to Nevada when they retired.

“They were extremely happy,” Ms. Waltrip said. “They loved each other very much.”

But before the marriage ended, Ms. Danley met Mr. Paddock

Eric Paddock, Mr. Paddock’s youngest brother, said his brother loved Ms. Danley and doted on her. For her part, he said, Ms. Danley made compromises like doing without perfume, hair spray and bubble baths in order to not set off his allergies. Though his brother was a multimillionaire, he said, he did not believe she was with him because he had money.

Some people who knew Mr. Paddock said he could take on an imperious, exacting demeanor. But with Ms. Danley, he was different, Eric Paddock said.

“She was probably one of the only people I’ve ever seen that he’d go out of his way to do a little thing for,” he said. “He went out of his way to be nice to her.

BBM

There is a simple solution to that:

Paddock should have bought a small island and make it a population of 1 - himself.

Reminds me of someone wearing the tee that says, "Stay home. It's too peopley out there."

Huh. There was an earlier post about how he was verbally abusive to her. Was that debunked?

This is what I refer to:

The workers behind the counter at the Starbucks inside the Virgin River Casino in Mesquite, Nev., winced whenever Stephen Paddock and his girlfriend, Marilou Danley, lined up for their usual beverages.

That’s because Paddock had a nasty habit of berating Danley in public. “It happened a lot,” Esperanza Mendoza, supervisor of the Starbucks, said Tuesday.

POPSICLE....daaaammm! Excellent question. I am in awe. Now it makes you wonder about the women at the concert who issued warning. (Ps....Lots of early rumors are starting to be confirmed....in the strangest ways.)
Money transferred to Phillipines (very recently) now confirmed by MLD attorney....

"she thought plane ticket and money was his way of breaking up with her" ????? (Who breaks up like that?)

Why couldn't my exes have wired me 100,000 dollars

I didn't realize he bought one of his rifles as recently as 9/28, the day he checked into the Mandalay.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/las-vegas-shooting-stephen-paddock-gun-shop-manager-bump-fire-stocks/

On CNN in the past hour they had an ex-FBI person on saying there is a database that logs all the inquiries that are done when people buy weapons. So there would be a record of him attempting to buy the 33 guns in the past year. HOWEVER.... law enforcement is not allowed to access this database and look for patterns. He did not mention why they don't have this access, though.

Also noted was that high-stakes gamblers with lots of cash are normal in Las Vegas, so this guy would not attract any attention due to that. And gun collectors also very common, so buying and owning lots of guns would not raise any suspicions based on that aspect alone.

I swear, I saw those on sale at Big Lots last year.

Mister Happy!!! Is that true ‘Big Lots’?! That’s hilarious, needed a good chuckle. My initial thoughts were either a custom Liberace style coffin purchased for himself or a jacked up jacuzzi. I’m serious on both.

Yes, this is why there are no clocks in casinos and the cell phone service is terrible. They don’t want you to know the time and they def don’t want you in your room.
(Our room at Palms Place was tastefully done in a nice simple Swedish/mid-mod kinda feeling. Definitely the nicest place my poor self has stayed. Even had a dishwasher ooh la la lol).

I'm very curious to hear more details in the coming days and weeks.

Ugh and while tragedies do often bring out the best in people, they also highlight the worst... I should have avoided reading various YouTube and other comments sections.

I totally thought it was a tacky free-standing Jacuzzi, too, until someone mentioned club chairs shoved together.

What makes people think she isn't a citizen? She was married to a US citizen for many, many years. More than enough time for her to become a citizen.

This one hit me hard . I went to the 1st one ever so when I heard the news I could picture in my head what the people were going through as I knew the layout. What is getting me right now is all the BS about more shooters on the 4th floor . Where is the broken window ? Which by the way has all been proven false by snopes . Also this so called woman telling someone what was going to happen. Sounds like and attention grabber to me . Why haven't they spoke to the LVPD and given them a description.
But my hat is off to the 1st responders the LVPD and to the concert goers who put their lives on the line that horrible night.
