Police say they plan to go door to door Tuesday in the search for a young mother in New Jersey.

The search will focus on the neighborhood of Shanaya Coley in Paterson.

I wish there was more info out there. Did she have a BF? What about the father of her baby? Was there a custody dispute? I hope the police are looking into this. Does anyone actually think this was a random crime?

There is a lot of info being kept close to the vest from what I am seeing. The child's grandmother (babys fathers, mother) is on the facebook group and said she is the Grandma. Her son would be the baby's father. She is actively looking. No word on any of the other stuff.

Just heard about this and it is very concerning. I live in NJ (about an hour away from Paterson) and know this isn’t the greatest of neighborhoods. Seems like a lot of things are being kept very hush hush.

I also see 3 men arrested there this week for drugs, one man arrested there the other day for stabbing a 15 yr old girl as well as a huge fire...concerning

"Coley’s father, Willie, told NBC New York that his daughter had taken out a restraining order to protect her and her 3-year-old son, but he only learned about it from police after her disappearance and he didn’t know who the restraining order was meant for. He told reporters that his daughter’s glasses were found in the parking lot outside of her apartment and that there was blood on the ground."

I just want people here to have a clear view of the town this happened in. Someone said they fell on "hard times" okay. Most bad neighborhoods do...that does not mean its not a bad area. The below incidents all happened very recently. Could any of the fires be tied to her disappearance? Could any of the men arrested have anything to do with her disappearance?

I dont know...but I do know that Im not exagerating the rate of crime and lack of safety there.

Something’s not right. On her “missing” Facebook page her mother is vehemently denying any restraining order was taken out. She’s saying that the media made it up.

So do we have any police statements regarding the restraining order? I don't see how the dad would have gotten that mixed up though.

I’ve been looking and can’t find anything. It’s a huge discrepancy. It’s bothersome that there is so little information, and the information we have seems to be confusing.
