Thank you for the updates/posts. I am so tired of these events like this. And I am angry that our government officials cannot/will-not work together, both sides, to enact whatever laws it takes to curtail some of this violence from guns.

Domestic disturbances always seem to be the most dangerous calls for policemen to respond to.
It's the unknown mental state and anger of the person that they are having to deal with that is so dangerous.
Prayers to all families involved in this terrible tragedy.

It tax payers money

There are lots of dangerous jobs

Do the scientists who are working on Ebola and die get one?

If they are using leave time imo that's fine .

We pay for then to drive around some streets - not attending funeral moo

in a domestic issue bomb squad and fire trucks is unique

it seems like we are missing an angle to the initial start of the tragedy

see now they are saying 5 shot i death --

IMO, considering that the police are paid to escort other people's bodies from time to time, I don't have a problem with them doing this on our dime.

In fact, in many public sector jobs, employees would be paid while taking off work early if a tragedy occurred at work, or to attend a funeral of a co-worker. I realize that not all jobs provide for this, but since many do, I don't have a problem with it.

I have many bones to pick with LE, but this is not one of them.

According to this, one deputy killed and 4 other officers shot in addition to him.

Do we know what class of firearm was used? This makes it sound like he opened fire immediately and hit all 5 officers immediately.

I wonder if the two civilians were the actual couple or whatever ??

that many cops don't usually get shot in a situation like this

It seems a part of the story has not come out -- unless two people were shooting at cops

maybe that is it ???

there was some blinds broken out maybe it was a hostage thing wiht one partner being held on balcony he she started shooting and they shot back accidently hitting the other citizen

something is unique tho ?

I also a ladder up to the adjacent unit so I am assuming that SWAT got up in that unit

so actually maybe all this happened in the actual unit ??

but in an apt how would they be able to hit so many cops??

oh no was it an assault rifle??
