Antill was allegedly with another man named Preston Yates at the time.

Reports say he jumped out of a vehicle on State Route 250, then walked in an unknown direction.

Reports show Antill's Netspend card was used on December 22 and 23 in the Uhrichsville area.

Antill is 24, 5' 2",130 lbs with brown hair and blue eyes.

If you have any information as to his whereabouts contact the Steubenville Police Department.

Shawn was riding in a vehicle with Preston Yates and Louise Ford on December 23, 2017 from Uhrichsville, Ohio where Preston and Louise reside. Heading to Cadiz, Ohio to get Shawn's girlfriend's car for Shawn's use. Before arriving at the girlfriends house, Brittany Cunningham, Shawn had a change in his behavior possibly due to substance abuse. Shawn asked them to pull their car over because he believed the police were behind them. Around 7:00 p.m. They pulled over by the Harrison County Home on Route 250, Shawn then got out of the car, Preston exited as well and tried to calm Shawn down, and it only aggravated Shawns paranoia more and then Shawn took off on foot in the direction towards Cadiz, Ohio. Preston's sister Louise and Louise's minor child remained in the vehicle and then Preston returned to the vehicle and they left to take Preston back to his home. Preston indicated he contacted Sharon Bocek, Brittany's mother, and asked if Shawn ever arrived to pick up the car and Sharon responded negative.

Family members have been searching nearly non-stop.

"They were intoxicated and driving from Urichsville down 250 heading toward Cadiz.

There are many aspects complicating and frustrating investigators and the family.

“The sister, who was the last person to see Shawn, will not speak to us at all," Howell [Antill’s cousin] said.

"I think that the gentleman that let him out of the car and his sister know more than they are saying," Scott [Antill's aunt] said.

Further frustrating the family is what they believe happened when Shawn tried to find help.

"We believe that night on the 23rd he did knock on the door of the home on Route 250 and they believe he knocked on the door and didn't let him because it was so late and it was dark," Howell said.

I'm from Steubenville and the area where he left the car is very thinly populated and rural.

If I recall correctly, there are not many cars on the highways in that area at night, so he probably had little opportunity to hitch a ride.


Highway 250, or Cadiz Dennison Rd. where he was last seen, goes through Tappan Lake Park.

If he tried to walk to Cadiz from the 41000 block of Cadiz Dennison Rd, it would have only been 4 miles to the nearest open business. It would have taken him 1.5 hours.


He was intoxicated and paranoid though. So he could have walked in any direction after Yates got back in the car. If he walked any direction other than Southeast toward Cadiz, he would have headed into wilderness [EDIT - probably should call it the woods and not wilderness].

Not sure if that info is helpful as he disappeared the night of the 23rd, but it is new info.
