It will be interesting to see if BB and SW had on going communications since June, and who made the initial contact Jan 2nd and who suggested they meet up that night.

I've been sitting here thinking of something else I wanted to say but couldn't remember it but this post triggered it. Thank you!

I was thinking about the hate crime, heat of the moment, etc aspect because the "outing" happened in June and payback didn't come until January.

Could it be that both men were busy the rest of the summer, vacations, jobs, getting ready for college life, family events, etc so that there was never the opportunity to put something together for the murder? Then Blaze went to PA, probably in August to prepare there for the new school year and his holiday break was the first opportunity for SW to exact his revenge. He may have been laying awake at night plotting and planning how he was going to seek revenge. IMO

When LE saw SW was cleaning his car was there nothing they could do to stop him? It seems strange they would just sit and watch him destroy possible evidence.

Is there a media only thread of SW's social media that has't been scrubbed like ifunny?

None of that makes any sense to me. I have a very hard time believing he had a body stashed somewhere and then went back to that same park to bury it. WHY do that? He could have driven up to the vast Angeles Forest area quite easily, and place him somewhere no one was looking already.

And I really don't think he could have carried a body around or put him anywhere with out being detected. JMO

He was killed in the park.

Ha! That's a good point. Can LE search something if they have a search warrant without notifying the suspect?

The teacher did not say that SW was strange. He said that he was quiet, reserved, and direct, and not really a jovial guy.

It was ex-students that talked about SW being 'strange'.

“Lends itself to being strange”. I didn’t say the teacher ‘said’ SW was strange.

Below is Snipped, I capped some of the words used to describe SW (from 2 classmates and a teacher).

http://www.philly.com/philly/news/cr...-20180116.html

The man charged with fatally stabbing a University of Pennsylvania sophomore at least 20 times was described by a former teacher Tuesday as QUIET, HUMORLESS, and OUTSPOKEN IN HIS POLITICAL VIEWS.

“I can’t remember a single joke or a single light-hearted moment from him,” said Philip Schwadron, who taught acting to Samuel Lincoln Woodward in 10th grade in the fall of 2012 at the Orange County School of the Arts in Santa Ana, Calif.

Still, “I never thought I was looking into the 15-year-old eyes of a killer,” Schwadron said.

Both Woodward, 20, and his alleged victim, Blaze Bernstein, 19, had attended the exclusive school. Schwadron, who didn’t teach Bernstein, described Woodward as “very QUIET, very SERIOUS, very DIRECT.”

Meanwhile, Jake Chustz, a former STUDENT who knew Woodward at the school, SAID in an interview Tuesday that Woodward “had a REPUTATION for being VERY STRANGE AND FOR RUBBING PEOPLE THE WRONG WAY”

In Schwadron’s class, Woodward occasionally voiced conservative beliefs, mentioning at one point that President Barack Obama’s policy in Iraq was “wimpy” for not including more troops on the ground, THE TEACHER SAID”

In his online musings, Woodward veered more sharply to the right.

Woodward defended the Confederate flag in a post as a symbol of “Southern pride, not hate,” according to the CBS Los Angeles affiliate, and in a thread on *******, a site that invites anonymous commenters to post questions to a specific person, said atheists will go to hell, and called Obama a “spineless coward” and an “arrogant, hypocritical, spineless socialist.”

THESE VIEWS UNNERVED WOODWARDS CLASSMATES at the generally liberal performing arts school, which Schwadron said Woodward left after his sophomore year.

Michael Joseph Wells, a classmate of both Bernstein’s and Woodward’s, said in a public Facebook post that Woodward was “AGGRESIVE AND MADE SCARY REMARKS TO PEOPLE”

Wells, who did not immediately respond to a request for comment, wrote that Bernstein was “playful and kind hearted” while Woodward always “WAS DRAWING GUNS WHEN PROMPTED TO DRAW OUR FAVORITE THINGS”.

Sure it does. It goes to motive.

IF they went there to have sex or some type of sexual encounter, they both wanted it.

Maybe after sex?, when the excitement wore off, Sam went into a fit of rage if/when Blaze tried to kiss him? Sam apparently had issues with accepting his own sexuality, so maybe he went crazy on Blaze. This all jmo.

Either way, it'd be Sam's fault as he friggin slayed him.

Hopefully once more information gets released the picture will become clearer. I am not convinced this was premeditated based on what we know so far. If it comes out that SW made contact with BB and initiated the idea of meeting up that night I will be more convinced of premeditation.

I agree with you. It is absolutely SW responsibility. I was not suggesting otherwise!

from your link...

"Woodward told investigators he pushed Bernstein away and wanted to call him a "f----t," The Orange County Register reported of the 16-page affidavit.

The affidavit has since been sealed and NBC News has not been able to verify the reports"

NBC cannot "verify" the reports, because you know it's a sealed document. Unbelievable. I don't believe I ever seen something like this before. Somehow I think this controlled leak is going to backfire.

When LE saw SW was cleaning his car was there nothing they could do to stop him? It seems strange they would just sit and watch him destroy possible evidence.

To prevent it they probably would have needed to either arrest him (but don't think they had probable cause to do that then) or have a search warrant for the car.

Cherry, that’s actually inaccurate. Any attorney worth a damn will advice the family involved in a murder trial to stay out of the media and keep their mouths shut. One wrong word can be twisted into an admission of guilt.

She said the most appropriate thing she could - she asked for privacy for the Bernstein’s. Let’s not put the parents on trial.
I agree!

I can't help but think that the teacher was in violation of at least California Student Privacy Laws but may also have traipsed over the boundaries set by the Brown Act with those statements. At the very least it's not his job to lob gratuitous barbs at his students and contradicts his own professional duty. Completely unprofessional. I'm sorry to quarteback the information and sources surrounding this tragedy however to me they are and continue to be strange (and crafted).

I agree with you, I too was surprised that a teacher would engage with the media casually. It’s not appropriate.

This is BEYOND HEARTBREAKING! 😞

"Shortly after Jeanne Pepper Bernstein got word Wednesday morning that her 19-year-old son’s body had been found and that Orange County sheriff’s officials were investigating the case as a homicide, her daughter discovered a note in her brother’s belongings.

Beaue, 14, handed it to her mother. With tears in her eyes, she urged her to read the note.

It was a letter Bernstein had written to Blaze on day one of first grade.

“My stomach clenches a little bit at thinking of my tiny little boy (all 46 inches) walking to class by himself, but I know you’ll make it to Room 16 when I leave you at the curb of Foothill Ranch Elementary School,” she wrote on September 21, 2004."

Hey Everyone,

Please remember you can't post random quotes or information without providing a link to an approved source.
Thanks

Rackauckas later added in an interview with ABC News, "We would need evidence beyond a reasonable doubt that Sam Woodward did the killing because of a group that the victim might have belonged to. ... We'd have to show that the reason for the murder was substantially for the reason that he was gay," he said.
