I saw the newly created MP casefile for Diana Martinez

https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/30051/0

She was LKA in North Bergen New Jersey; however the circumstances indicate that she was headed for Hialeah Florida (a suburb of Miami)

With that in mind, she seems to be a pretty reasonable possible match to this Jane Doe.

• Her age 14 is consistent with the age estimate (11-20)
• Her height (61 inches) is within an inch of the Jane Doe's height estimate based on skeletal remains (60 inches)
• The Jane Doe was located in Weston Florida, about 20 miles from Diana's ultimate destination (Hialeah, FL)
• The timeframe (20-Mar-87 to 19-Jan-1988) is slightly tight compared to the Jane Doe's estimated date of death (late 1985 to mid 1986, according to Doe Network), though not unreasonably tight.

Unfortunately, according to her MP casefile, no identifiers of any kind are available for her.

According to the UP casefile for the Jane Doe, DNA and Dentals are available.

Perhaps if the Law Enforcement contacts for her case know that there is a plausible possible match, they might have a motivation to locate family members and obtain FRS's or dental records.

I always thought that this JD reminded me of Angela Rader, who was believed to have runaway with Tammy Akers in 1977, from VA. They were allegedly heading to Florida. I'm wondering if its possible they made it to Florida, after all.
She was around the same height but would have been early 20s at about the TOD.

I think it's a good submit. Plus we've seen TOD estimates be way off before

Shannon Potter http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/p/potter_shannon.html has been missing from Baltimore, Maryland since 3 March 1984. At the time she was 13 years old, 5'5" tall and 140 pounds, had brown hair and eyes, and she has previously fractured her pelvis. She apparently climbed out of a window in the middle of the night to go to a party and never returned home. A few days after she was last seen her mother received a letter in the mail from Shannon that was postmarked Orlando, Florida. The contents of the letter have not been publicly disclosed but that was the last known contact anyone had with her. It was later discovered that Shannon had made long distance phone calls to several states including Florida shortly before she went missing but it's unknown whether they were directly related to her disappearance or not.

I was scrolling and decided to read a little about this case because I grew up in Broward county and I see the age range for this girl is 11-20. My first thought was how I recognize that charm from when I was young. They were popular charm bracelets in the 80's and I remember collecting them as well. I'm guessing her age is closer to the 11, because I'm 39 now and in 1988, I would have been 10 and obsessed with these charm bracelets.
They were marketed toward the tween girls and younger back then if I remember correctly.
Here's a picture I found. I would bet it's the same kind of charm.

Just a random thought, maybe it won't make any difference in helping ID her.

*Edited to fix my age. I would have been 10 years old in 1988*

It is mentioned in Shannon's Charley Project profile that she has had plastic surgery, it was likely on her face. This is elaborated on more in Shannon's NamUs page https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/1868/0/ under Physical/Medical: "Shannon has scars on her abdomen and near her left eye. Surgical scars on her back and buttock from surgery concerning a cracked pelvis. Spilt mandible with surgical scars." Side-by-sides of BCJD (1988) and Shannon: Broward County Jane Doe 1 (1988).jpgView attachment Shannon Potter.jpg.

Weston Jane Doe has been unidentified for 30 years today.

Sad anniversary :(

"Barbara was last seen with her parents, Carmen Burhans Garcia and Diego Garcia, in Los Angeles, California on March 15, 1982. They lived in a house on Division Street in the Glassell Park area, and Carmen's mother lived upstairs. That morning, Carmen's mother went downstairs and visited the family at breakfast. Carmen was crying, but her mother didn't ask her why. At about noon, Carmen, Diego and Barbara drove away in their brown 1977 Toyota Corolla. Carmen's mother never saw them again. They took nothing with them; they left behind luggage, clothes in the closets, dog food in the refrigerator, and the dog itself.
On April 25, the family's car was found abandoned in a snowbank 500 feet down a gorge in the San Gabriel Mountains, off Route 2 near Big Pines, California. It was buried in five feet of snow and the top was crushed in. There was no blood inside the car and no evidence of foul play.
(Osteoarthritic changes were seen in her hips and previous injuries to her lower back and pelvic region were identified.)
That particular road had been closed since March 16, the day after the Garcia/Burhans family vanished. Police theorized the vehicle was either pushed down the mountain by someone trying to conceal it, or accidentally bumped off the roadside by a snowplow whose driver didn't notice it parked there.
Diego is Carmen's second husband and Barbara's stepfather. There were rumors that Carmen, who had recently converted to Mormonism, was involved in a cult-type religion involving candles and live chicken sacrifice at the time of her disappearance, but this wasn't confirmed. Another theory was that Diego had gotten involved in a drug and/or gambling scheme and he and Carmen took Barbara and fled to the Little Havana neighborhood of Miami, Florida; this too could not be substantiated.
Although there were reported sightings of Carmen after her disappearance, none were confirmed and there were no sightings of Diego or Barbara. There has been no evidence of any of their whereabouts since March 1982.

Missing Person Case
Tammy Sue Clements – The Charley Project

Tammy Clements is reported missing out of Michigan, but was actually last seen by her family in Nebraska. They moved back to MI, but she did not go with them. She told them she was going with friends to CA, so I think it's possible she could have ended up in FL.

She was 15 in 1980. They believe the UID was probably killed in 1985 or 86, so Tammy would have been at the upper age range at that time.
