They didn't go to the doctor regularly, so if any were diabetic, they would not know it, and would not be able to obtain insulin without a prescription. It is highly doubtful that they withheld food for any "good" reason.

You keep mentioning context. The context here is that they were all malnourished to the point that they had to be hospitalized, chained for weeks and months at a time, never saw a dentist, rarely saw a doctor, etc. In context, it is highly unlikely that there is a benign excuse.

There also is the fact that medical professionals treating the children have told the news media they have left their rooms in tears. These children weren't just denied food for short periods of time such as no cookie before dinner; they were denied food for extended periods of time to the point it stunted their growth.

I think we can assume there was a TV at least somewhere in the house, but the captives were not allowed to watch it. As a former model, it probably was pre-wired for Cable TV in the "great room" where the TV is placed in the photos. The captives were locked in bedrooms in small groups thus probably were not allowed in the great room probably, except in limited circumstances.

They probably do have a TV, But its like the old school days of growing up. There was only One TV in the house (usually in the living room) and parents had control.. When you can and cant watch TV. I remember growing up this way and at my friends house also same rules.. Geeze I remember when my dad finally bought a Color TV! ha!

There was a TV but the kids weren't allowed to watch it, nor listen to radio.

We don't know any of the medical history if any of them. Could be they suffer from something in genes, or just their normal size for them or a combination of many. Just at time found they didn't have any medical history and did what needed to be done. If kids didn't know what medication was very possible didn't know medical history. Jmho

If any of the 11yr old + kids don’t know what medication is, it’s probably more likely they didn’t have medical care. And thus no medical history.

I think a poster in the first thread hit the nail on the head when she/he said that his haircut may be tied to a Prince (Disney) fantasy they share!

He had the same hair style in high school.

All depends on context. I haven't starved any of my children or grandchildren, but have not allowed them to eat stuff bought.jmho again goes to which told LEO and in what context. What if that particular individual was diabetic?

If they were diabetic and hadn't seen a doctor for years, they'd be dead. Diabetes can't just be left for years.

When officers from the Perris Police Department and Riverside County Sheriff's Department searched the home, they found "several children shackled to their beds with chains and padlocks in dark and foul-smelling surroundings, but the parents were unable to immediately provide a logical reason why their children were restrained in that manner," police said in a statement.

"Unable to immediately provide a logical reason why their children were restrained in that manner" "in the dark"

Arrived at 8:30a.m., per DA they slept all day ,so this would be their normal 'night' so why would they have lights on?

So did they provide any reason at all after the 'immediate' timeframe? How long after arriving did LEO place under arrest and remove -DT &LT? Was the report from LEO at home or Detective at the PD?

I am not doubting you, but I have not read or heard anything about the police questioning the parents, particularly about chaining the children, would you mind providing a link, thanks!

Authorities last week said that David and Louise Turpin were “unable to immediately provide a logical reason” why the siblings were shackled and chained and that Louise Turpin seemed “perplexed” by the investigators’ questions.

Sorry, what lewd act was that? I have mostly taken a break from all of the cross chatter in this thread. Are we talking about the hotel sex a year after the wife had sex with another man?
I think, it’s about the one charge of a lewd act. What hotel sex? I’m lost with that one.

Similar imo. That was more bowl cut. This looks some sort of Prince Charming cut to me. More like those from the illustrated fairy tale books I used to read growing up

The older children (and even some of the younger) may remember some of the things we recently brought up here... they may know they never saw a doctor/dentist while living in this home, but remember seeing one at the last home or when they were a certain age, etc. I would imagine even with limited cognitive abilities they can give some factual details.

Here is a brief instructual video about medical restraints. This does not seem to bear any resemblance to anything described in the Turpin home. For one thing, the restrained person is to be attended to every two hours (bathroom needs, nutritional needs, etc.)
Using Restraints Wrist & Ankle Restraints: http://youtu.be/mt2L3Ud4xGE

Agree! Nor do the photo from owner of Rio Vista brick home baby bed he said look like a rope when clearly appear to be zip ties.

LEO state chains and padlocks, so I am not dismissing as anything other than.

As stated in my post quoted. Hearing as we been told and what LEO found is horrible. But we don't know that they didn't have medical reasons for restraints. Chains and padlocks no I know of no legal reason, but there are people who have restraints used for their safety. I know of someone who had an athletic straight A son who started falling asleep in class. Acting totally different. Had appointment to have drug tested at Dr when had a seizure. Long story they found a tumor on his purity gland. After surgery he had to be literally stood by and watched to make sure he only took in so much water. They had to put a lock on fridge because he got up in middle of night and got frozen hamburger patties and was eating them! He wondered off and found walking down road. So yes MANY real reasons, just not saying they get pass just there can be reasons. Jmh

Shackled. Hogtied. Chained. Muscle wasting. No doctor in four years. So what diagnosis is it that is so intense that they need to tie them up, yet couldn't state the diagnosis or reason for tying them when sheriffs showed up (instead hey hurriedly started unshackling them, showing consciousness of guilt), and didn't take them to see a doctor regarding their condition in all that time?

I don't understand why anyone is nitpicking things that don't matter. Was there a pie on the counter? Maybe, maybe not, who cares?
The only things that matter are what LE said, what the Doctors said, the fact that they all needed to be hospitalized, and the charges brought by the DA.

Anyone found like that would be taken to hospital and get full check out. Being released that's a good sign.
