The dying two-year-old girl who cops desperately attempted to save despite her knife wielding mother's attacks, has been pictured.
Cynthia Arce, 28, was shot by police during the incident at her home in Mamaroneck, New York on Saturday.
She remains in hospital while her daughter, Gabriella Maria Boyd, was confirmed as dead later that same day.
Authorities have not yet released any details about the manner of her death but NBC report it is being investigated as a homicide.

Cops were called to the property over reports about a woman screaming.
When officers arrived on the scene around 1.30pm they found the two-year-old girl unresponsive, but when they tried to help her, Arce charged at them knife in hand, according toABC7.
Upon entering the home, officers asked Arcer to show her hands as they called an ambulance and tried to help the little girl. Instead of complying, the mother attacked and stabbed two officers with the knife, police say.

Tasers were deployed, which failed to stop the female. The female was then shot by one of the officers,' she added.

grieving father and his attorney are demanding answers about the death of a toddler in Mamaroneck on Saturday following a disturbing domestic incident that led police to shoot the child’s mother.News 12 has learned that the death of 2-year-old Gabriella Maria came just one day after police were given a court order to get the girl from the Chestnut Avenue home where she lived with her mother, 28-year-old Cynthia Arce. A judge had signed the order after the child's father, Stephen Boyd, argued that Arce was a danger to their child.
Boyd and his attorney, Martin Rosen, are now demanding to know how the child died, and why police allegedly failed to fulfill that court order.

Police say they received a 911 call for assistance at a home on Chestnut Avenue around 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
When they arrived, they found a 2-year-old who needed medical treatment. They started life-saving measures on the child, and then searched the home for anyone else who might be inside. Sources have identified the child’s name as Gabriella Maria.

Police say a 28-year-old woman, who sources identify as Cynthia Arce, was in the home and was given numerous verbal commands to show her hands, but they say she didn't comply. That's when police say Arce attacked officers with a knife, injuring two of them. Tasers were then deployed, which police say failed to stop her. Police say they opened fire on the woman at that time.
Four officers were taken to the hospital and two were treated for injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

Another case in which authorities didn’t act. Just because the mother had custody doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have listened to the dad.

No biggie, Spellz -- I also thought the location was the UK, too, because of the reporting medium (UK), until I read a couple of lines which mentioned places, etc., that I knew were in NY.

It'll get fixed, and we'll be fine -- a big thanks for your starting the thread. :)

Oh, another sad, senseless case of a beautiful little human being's life cut short -- I'll say again, who knows what she might have done for her family, her neighborhood, her friends, her town, her state or her country. We will never know, and the world will be less without her.

And I'll also say again, just dammit.

More Charges Expected In Westchester Domestic Incident That Left Child Dead
http://bedford.dailyvoice.com/news/...omestic-incident-that-left-child-dead/736607/

As fingerpointing and accusations fly over the tragic death of little Gabriella Maria Boyd in Mamaroneck a week ago to the day, the woman behind all of the furor was charged with two counts of attempted murder in her hospital bed and the Westchester County district attorney says further charges could be coming.

The charges were in relation to injuries sustained by responding police officers when 28-year-old Cynthia Arce stabbed them during the incident on Saturday, April 28. Charges have yet to be filed in connection to the death of 2 1/2 year-old Gabriella.

"We are awaiting the results of the autopsy of the child which could take weeks," Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino Jr. said. "Those results could have a major impact on the direction the case takes."

Scarpino said the case against Arce was called in Mamaroneck Village Court but was adjourned to May 17.

"The District Attorney’s Office continues to investigate the very serious charges which currently consist of two counts of aggravated attempted murder of two police officers and could result in additional charges," Scarpino said.

Mamaroneck shooting: Lawyer says toddler's mother told police they'd handle custody issue the following day

Gabriella Maria Boyd was not turned over to her father April 27 when Mamaroneck police tried to enforce a court order after the toddler's mother, Cynthia Arce, told them the matter would be handled the following day when the father was scheduled for visitation, Arce's lawyer told The Journal News/lohud Monday.

Stephen Boyd never did see his daughter alive again....

A statement issued last week by the Mamaroneck village Police Benevolent Association said that police were given no indication that Gabriella was in danger and that officers were instructed that evening that they had no authority to forcibly remove her from the house.
[.....]
Portale said that Solorzano believes that Child Protective Services investigators went to the house about 11:30 that night. According to the PBA statement, CPS had been notified by village police that evening after police could not enforce the court order.

No charges have been filed in Gabriella's death as prosecutors are awaiting the Westchester County medical examiner’s determination of the cause of death.

Cynthia Arce was charged with two counts of attempted aggravated murder of a police officer and arraigned in her hospital room. She was not well enough to appear when the case was briefly called in Mamaroneck Village Court on Thursday.

Portale said Arce would remain in the jail ward of the hospital for a few more weeks. She is supposed to make her first appearance in Village Court on May 17.

Thursday, May 17th:

LE were trying save her baby, when she attacked them with a knife. Arce is in intensive care at Westchester Medical Ctr. More charges are coming, after autopsy.

What a perfectly beautiful little girl! I’m just floored. Would like to know if the mother was on some kind of substance when she killed her daughter and why she wasn’t removed from the home immediately.

Mamaroneck shooting case headed to grand jury; new details on Arce's injuries
https://www.lohud.com/story/news/crime/2018/05/17/mamaroneck-shooting-cynthia-arce/618398002/

Charges that Cynthia Arce tried to kill two Mamaroneck police officers are headed to a grand jury as she recovers from three gunshots and a knife wound that required nine staples on the side of her throat, her lawyer said today.

The new details of Arce's injuries were revealed by her lawyer, Richard Portale, who appeared in Mamaroneck Village Court for her latest scheduled appearance, which she missed as she continues to recover from an altercation at her home on April 28.
[.....]
Portale has agreed to let Arce's case proceed to a grand jury, which will decide whether to indict her.

Arce is in the custody of the Westchester County Department of Correction. She remains in intensive care, her lawyer said, and has now missed both of her court hearings in Village Court after she was arraigned May 1 in her hospital bed.

Portale said the shooting left Arce with a perforated bowel and wounds to an arm and a leg.
[.....]
After Arce's case was briefly heard in court on May 3, Portale called the situation "a tragedy" that warrants fact-finding without a rush to judgment.

Any updates on this case? Is she still in the hospital? Any court dates yet?

TIA!

Mamaroneck mother of dead toddler Gabriella Boyd on the mend at Westchester County jail

The Mamaroneck woman who was shot after allegedly attacking two village police officers with knives as they tried to help her dying daughter has recuperated enough to have her mugshot taken at the county jail.
[.....]
Arce was charged with two counts of aggravated attempted murder of a police officer.

The case is in a holding pattern because the cause of Gabriella's death has still not been determined. It is believed prosecutors are waiting for results of Gabriella's autopsy before presenting the case to the grand jury.

"The Medical Examiner's investigation into the death of Gabriella Boyd is not complete at this time," Helen Jonsen, a spokeswoman for Westchester District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, said on Tuesday.

Bumping for Gabby.....

Anyone find anything "new"? I couldn't find her in the list of inmates in Westchester County jail!

Arce is not in the court site yet, and have looked at the court calendar up to 7/17. Nothing.

Would this be the right site to look up dockets?
