What if she didn't finish her homework until later than anything we've assumed so far but still wanted to go and pick up the car that night? If she thought she was safe would she still have walked over to her Mom's house even though it was quite late?
I proposed the same theory in a previous thread. She would likely also put the dogs in the basement before she left. I guess the only issue is that I would think that she might send a text first, to let her mom know she was on her way. I’m confident that law enforcement has this nailed down though, by their statement that they are confident in their timeline.

NE Ankeny incident appears to have happened around 7pm on Friday 24th July.
Miner, MO PD on facebook has video footage and screenshots of the alleged perp and his van. Video footage is dated 17th July at around 4:19pm. Interesting that the two men have similar subscriptions.

Looking on the map though, there's quite a distance between the two places. Brooklyn is not far from Ankeny at approx 68 miles. Miner, MO is 484 miles (roughly 7 1/2 hours away.)

The pic on their page looks like a black mini-van, not an SUV?

Here's a screenshot of the man driving the black Mercury van in Miner, Mo. who tried to abduct the jogger. He looks very muscular and his arm appears to be covered in tattoos. He also looks like he has a gray goatee. Here's also a screenshot of the van.

And his left arm appears quite tan and only up to the hem of the short-sleeve, which tells me he spends a lot of time in his vehicle.

LE, without even getting a warrant, just by talking to her friends, might be able to get a feel for the timeline, by when she stopped opening them--which will show on the friends phones, right?
RSBM. I think they'll be able to know which she opened and which she didn't, so sort of yes? Not sure how specific this info is as reported to her friends in the app so they could report it to LE though.

But the amount of information they can get once into her accounts and stuff is MASSIVE, and for someone active on social media I imagine there's a pretty clear "before" and "after."

And @ChuckMaureen to your point about her busy day, that just makes me think even more she'd be checking in early, knowing she wouldn't have much time to do so all day.

Video interview of Miner Police Chief:
Man tries to abduct young female in Miner, MO, still at large
  • Police believe the man in Miner who tried to abduct the female runner may have done it before.
  • Miner Police Chief Chris Griggs says they've been following leads for a week and believes the suspect may be wearing a new disguise or even be in a different vehicle.
  • Confident that the vehicle is a black Mercury van made between 2005 and 2007.

Assuming it's the Mercury Monterey, only 13K sales total. There can't be that many black ones still on the road.

Which makes a yesterday / previous-evening abduction more likely than an early next-morning abduction.

"On Thursday, search teams scoured ditches near a pig farm that had been searched nearly a week ago after finding nearby a possible clue to her disappearance -- a red shirt."
FBI speaks to pig farmer for second time about missing Mollie Tibbetts

I think most of us have probably heard that pig farmer W C has been interviewed by the FBI more than once.

I suspect if he maintains his 70-acre farm all by himself it complicates confirming or disputing any alibi Mr. C might offer to authorities.

If he's being interviewed a SECOND time, that seems to suggest if there is an alibi, it has yet to be determined/discovered.

Anyone know anymore about an alibi. He told reporters that law enforcement asked him Thursday to take a polygraph test and he refused?

I know we've talked about how safe the town seemed, but she has lived other places including Oakland, CA. I can't imagine she has zero street smarts and no sense of self-preservation at all.

Since people seem incredulous that the FBI would talk to a witness more than once, here's a data point: I, personally, have sat through multiple 12-hour FBI interviews with a witness who was not only formally cleared, but given immunity for the testimony. I'm sure if busybodies were watching who walked into the office over those weeks, they would have posted about this completely innocent person's guilt. But it was just someone who happened to know a lot about the subject matter and the company. So unless LE comes out and names someone a POI or a suspect, they could just be a helpful witness.

Thank you for the insight! Curious if you watched the interview, and what your opinion of WC is?

Question... Wasn't it in Mo. that someone reported seeing a disoriented looking MT..? Wondering how close Miner Mo. is to where the possible sighting was. I know that sighting has been discredited, but...

I'd guess we'd have to take in to account that MT had to gather clothing for the day, shower/bathe, make/eat breakfast, prepare to escort a large group of children at camp plus deal with attending college classes, jogging routines, take care of the dogs, etc. This makes me think that even though MT heavily used her phone, Fitbit and whatever else, that she did so not in an obsessive manner... only when it was part of her routine or necessary.

Well, I tend to believe that she was a little obsessive about social media, judging from her mom saying that she was sending Snapchats like mad to her bf, who wasn't into social media all that much--because she wanted him at the top of her friends list.

I just realized--everyone else is probably miles ahead of me--the extent to which LE may be able to get a timeline from her friends.

Remember back at the beginning, when we heard that she was sending massive numbers of Snapchats to her bf, to try to get him to the top of her Snapchat friends list?

That should mean that she had a lot of other people she communicated with on Snapchat. People who probably sent her Snapchats...

LE, without even getting a warrant, just by talking to her friends, might be able to get a feel for the timeline, by when she stopped opening them--which will show on the friends phones, right?

They also subpoenaed Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram early in the case so they should have access to everything she did. Even before that, they could see publicly when the last time she liked or hearted other people's posts on Twitter and Instagram. If she was a regular user there's probably a bright line when she stopped interacting that they can use as a data point.

Quoting myself, lol. This brings me back to the idea that if she found herself in this situation, maybe she'd have someone available who would offer her a ride over?

Or she'd just wait until morning... IDK.

I had that thought too, but the Miner Sheriff says he may be driving different vehicles. Man tries to abduct young female in Miner, MO, still at large

We may be off the deep end or we may have discovered the reason for the large FBI presence. ?

BBM. Lol, it's one or the other. Or something else we haven't figured out yet but will discuss at length tomorrow. :D

Yep. Most people will not fight back if they are outgunned or outnumbered. Me? I would scream and run. I'm not going anywhere with them.

You and me both!! After reading the cautionary warnings of the experts of what may happen to you if you are taken, I'd rather it be right there on the spot.

All we know is that he’s been interviewed previously and was to be questioned again today. No information as to an alibi. The moderators only want us to use his initials, WC in referring to him.
