The woman (specialist) speaking now says those may be blood spatter or possibly bullet holes in the glass door.
I thought we all were in agreement that those were seasonal clingies.
I pray that isn't partially blowback. :(

I think there were pumpkin decals on the door but likely blood spatter as well. There is something important there or they wouldn't have carried it off. Right?

Are we allowed to site information from Barron County SD FB page?
You can link to the page and discuss what is officially posted by the Sheriff's department but not any comments in the posts. In some cases we're allowed to say "look at the comments under such and such post" or "look at a comment by (initials)" but seriously, 99.99% of comments from FB users are false anyway. IMO there are no FB "insiders" that have information that even LE doesn't have.

ETA: If you meant School District I'd leave that alone for now. The sheriff was very clear in today's presser to leave them alone so there's no point in focusing on their FB for now. JMO.

Wow, that's not a lot of time to get away, considering that the call came from inside the house, I would presume? 4 minutes........
On the way to the house you would think the police would be looking at any cars on the road, not specifically looking for the perp but in such a small town how many people are out that late? I live in a rural area and it takes the sheriff 15 min and our population is 800 people.

I feel physically sick since this all started and especially as she is not found yet.

And for all of you saying this case is too much for such a small police force, the FBI have been involved and they still have nothing.

Maybe they should search inside nearby homes.

I remember a case of a little girl missing and the police went door to door and most people allowed them in except for 2 sex offenders. They got a search warrant and sure enough that little girls body was found under a mattress in master bedroom. The police acted so fast he didn't have the time or opportunity to get rid of her body.

It's probably too late for this case but it's the only way I can see them vanishing into thin air.

He said they believe she was in the house at the time of the shooting based on evidence they obtained, some of which came from the 911 call. So technically, she could have been out of the house when the call was made.

I think they have enhanced the 911 call by now and could have heard Jayme's voice on it even though muffled. I think that may be one of the reasons they know she was inside when it was made.

I agree about the big one.
But the others, not so sure after repeatedly blowing that image up on a huge screen.
If the father was shot at the front door, it could be blood spatter.
I'm no expert, so I don't know.

Possibility the intruder/perp was injured in some way and left DNA (blood) on the handle going out the door?

i dont think dna can come back that quick !
DNA can come back in a matter of hours - it just depends on what you are submitting and the cost of it .
I know as a member of the public in a case like this, the opinion would be that it matters not what it costs BUT as a Crime Manager with responsibilities for a Forensic submission budget, I would still have to question the urgency of the submission against what evidence,if any, I am likely to get back AND the cost involved if I want an URGENT turnaround.
At the end of the day, finances are limited as much as we don’t want to hear it, and an URGENT DNA submission is thousands of pounds per item literally , more expensive. All these factors have to be documented in a Policy book by the SIO and reasons given for doing it or not doing it AND the urgency of the submission V not as urgent a submission V the cost ...,
It’s the way of the world nowadays unfortunately and it was one of my biggest frustrations tbh as I just wanted to submit everything from a Crime scene as quickly and urgently as possible but in the real world of monitoring budgets and public funds, I had to justify every $ spent !

But remember that LE didn’t know there had been a shooting. They didn’t have any info other than someone called, didn’t speak and yelling was heard in the background. So they wouldn’t have been “on the lookout for a murderer.”

Also, if Jayme made the 911 call and then left the house immediately (e.g., she got caught in the act of calling and was whisked away asap), 4 minutes is a good amount of time to get away from the scene.

That is what I mean about my theory that the person(s) who took Jayme possibly rode a four-wheeler and arrived and left from behind the house. They would maybe not have taken Hwy 8 at all.

But 4-wheelers are kinda noisy. In the silence of night, a 4-wheeler arriving at the house and leaving the house would I think have been loud. If it was just 4 minutes away when LE arrived, IMO they would still have been able to hear it at night.

Authorities said they have determined whose cell phone the call came from, but declined to identify the owner.
Jayme Closs disappearance: FBI asks for help in finding girl whose parents were killed - CNN

I said this back on thread #1 and I am going to say it again. I'm telling you guys that it was Jayme who made the 911 call and this is why they know she was in the home at the time her parents were killed. It is the only thing that makes sense. I think she called 911 and before she could finish the call there was a struggle over the phone and the perp took the phone out of her hands and took Jayme as well as her cell phone with them.

I am starting to wonder if this could have been a robbery gone completely wrong since they are now saying the front door was shot in. It sounds to me like it could be a home invasion and they didn't realize that a child lived in the home and after she called 911 they decided to take her so that she couldn't give LE descriptions. HOWEVER I still think the likely scenario is that they were after Jayme specifically.

They may have been but it is still unknown as to when Jayme left the house in relation to when the 911 call was placed.
