Agreed and this is from the local news which is noted as being the reliable source:

“About 4 minutes after the call, deputies arrived at the house. Dispatch records state that James Closs answered the door. On Friday afternoon, Fitzgerald was asked if that was accurate in the dispatch logs that James Closs had answered the door, he said yes.

After more discussion with Fitzgerald on Saturday morning, [Fitzgerald said he was not releasing any information about how the door got opened. He said when the deputies arrived at the house, James was found dead at the door. When asked whether a deputy had kicked in the door, Fitzgerald said he could not comment due to an active investigation.”...

so it is possible that James opened the door FOR police. - when the 911 call was placed- but passed away by the time LE arrived.
That’s what I’m thinking. He was at the door and died at the scene but then there’s that whole suicide thing where officers called in s possible suicide - what’s that about?

I will do an alert on my post in case it's not allowed (if I can figure out how to).

Do we know that Jayme is the Closs' biological daughter?

With the references to Jayme's mother being so protective, I'm wondering if she could have been adopted at birth but is related to the birth parent(s) and wanted her back.

Strictly my theory.
Except she looks exactly like her mom. jmo

Just wondering out loud here: W
was the family dog taken in for forensic processing? Maybe the attacker pet the dog? Picked it up and put it in a room? Left. Tony shred of DNA behind in the process (under the collar?). It’s a stretch I know....

The church stated that James was a member, and most religious people don't gamble. If he did, that close to home, it would be notable.
Is this a joke? I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin, went to catholic school and church and had a casino 20 min nearby. I can guarantee everyone went to the casino regardless of what the church said. And nobody talked about it because it was normal. I don't think the church's comment has any indication as to who James Closs was.

I guess I was saying that JC (James) could have been doing something other than working and didn't want to go the the family party, and Denise and Jayme fibbed to other family members that he was working. Not that James fibbed to his own family

I wish the picture of the door could be shown on here. It was a couple of threads ago?

The break was maybe three inches from the frame. And the door was clearly at least two solid inches thick. Maybe it was weakened by dry rot or carpenter ants. But it is clearly a thick sold core door.
Early on a family member told the press the door was shot open. Later the LE report that the door was found kicked open. Why can't it be both? Maybe the Unsub is the one who watched too many movies and thought he should shoot at it only to realize kicking it in is more effective. Gunshots would weaken or crack the wood.

Just to clarify. We have no indication at all that Jayme was adopted. We also have no indication that she is not the biological child of both JC and DC.

And frankly if she’s not the biological child of DC, I’ll eat my hat because she looks just like her mom. Jmo.

No need to alert. You are simply stating a working theory in your opinion. It's when folks state things as fact with no link to back it up. If u ever need the alert just hit on report.

Idk. LE hasn't given us much information at all but the one piece that seemed undisputed was that James was @ work. If he had the flexibility to work from home I am sure he would have also had flexibility to get out of the house for a few hours. Also, Jenni-O is a production plant and doesn't seem like the kind of place where most employees would have work that could be done from home. MOO.

I have never seen law enforcement confirm he was working that day, the only place I have seen it is a quote from Jayme's grandfather Robert.

It's apparently a small dog. I agree with @SharonNeedles above post that Dad heard the dog bark and got up to check it out. If he went to the door to see what was going on, he may have put the dog in a location where it couldn't run out the door when he opened it. Therefore dog wold have been out of the messy mix from the beginning. jmo

I worked in a food plant. We did jams and jellies and operated around the clock Monday-Friday, sometimes through Saturday. The second shift people were trained in sanitation and worked hours that were 4 pm-Midnight. On the last day of production, their shift was sanitation. The whole plant had to be washed down and sanitized. I would think when working with poultry that sanitation needs to happen daily and would happen during an 8-hour stretch late evening or overnight.

Gotcha.

I really meant that if it’s general knowledge to locals that the plant doesn’t run on Sunday, the extended family who are also locals would know it. So the “work to catch up on” fib or fact made more sense to me. Jmo.
