I have missed so much of this thread. Is there confirmation that Jayme's dad frequented the casino or that he gambled at all? I have seen a lot of posts indicating a connection to the casino. He just didn't seem like the type. Jmo

Not sure they know as much as we’re hoping. Re: she’s alive - that seems to be standard verbiage (even Tibbetts they were saying that up until a day she was found.) I think it keeps case active and focused. I’m certainly hopeful that is the case, but wouldn’t infer anything else from that being said. Prayers she is found safe soon

Watched an ID Channel show this morning about the Sharp murders. Mom son and sons friend were killed, daughter Tina was taken and later her remains were found. No one has ever been charged for those crimes and no motive has ever been found. The specifics were different but it just made me feel a little hopeless for Jayme. I wonder if the parents had been out that night and Jayme had been home alone. Then when the parents came home they were greeted by someone who had assaulted Jayme while they were gone and a volatile situation erupted. I keep trying to figure out why this happened at this hour.
Maybe it happened at this hour for the element of surprise factor. Everyone would be asleep and the perp could just enter and do what he went there for and somehow it didn't work out according to plan.
I do think the plan was always to take Jayme tho.

At first, I was sure that Jayme was their goal, but after revisiting Hargon, I am thinking perhaps a simmering grudge and James and Denise were the target. Jayme might have been taken for two reasons. 1. Poor planning, I don't know what to do with the kid. 2. Someone to tell, to say look I won. I would then look at who was passed up for a raise? Who was fired? Not promoted? Who would James' award for hours worked out at the gym irritate more? Someone rejected by Denise? A family grudge renewed at the party? Land dispute?

agree hard to see its about the parents when they seem so squeaky clean ** from what we know **. I with you i just can't see kidnapping Jayme if see was not the target. Kidnapping someone must be super risky and a huge pain in the butt.

Yeah I cannot see any version of "they panicked at the 911 call and took her and left." Unless you ran out of bullets, you shoot the girl and hit the road, it takes way less time than getting a 13 year old out the door with no one noticing. So I think kidnapping her was the main goal.

Just wondering if Jayme is special needs, which could be the reason LE was no longer using "abducted" and why the nearby search. She could have bolted from the house. I note that Riverview School is small, yet has 3 special ed teachers and at least 6 special ed aides. Note that I have no knowledge that Jayme is special needs.

No, usually they would include any important information like that from the start. Imo

Just listened to a case where two teenage boys wanted to steal a friend's moms car. They brought a gun but had no plans to use it. One distracted her at the door while the other broke into the garage to steal the car. Something went wrong and the mom gets shot. The boys flee. Later that day they were worried her son could ID them because they had been in contact with him before they killed his mom. They asked their friend to meet them in the woods and he showed up with another friend. They killed them both. They were caught but it seems like it was a theft that went wrong and went even worse after that. We always want to think it has to be cold and calculated when innocent kids are involved but sometimes simple crimes escalate without a real cause. The whole case is a Debbie downer.

I think a likely scenario is that some one knocked, dad went to door, looked out and would not open the door for the suspect. He kicked in the door, shot dad. Mom barricaded herself and daughter in bathroom. Suspect found them, shot mom, took Jayme.

If you witnessed your mom being killed and saw your dad was killed also, it wouldn't be difficult to get you to be quiet, get in a car and leave the area.

They probably took the chair for ballistic evidence, there is probably a bullet lodged in it somewhere and they took it to the lab to have it removed without damaging it, for comparison, to determine what caliber, model, type of ammo, etc.

I do think Jayme was the target. I do not think they're was a debt involved. No chance in recouping your money if the warmers are feed.

Could it have been as simple as he didn't want to attend and DC and JC fibbed that he was working. You never know. Possibly he had other plans alone or with friends.

maybe he just had other plans or just needed a day off w/e and when grandpa ask denise just said he was working b/c thats easier and less likely to cause drama.

It’s perfectly natural to feel sad and anxious about a case like this. However, as long as no earthly remains have been discovered, we can optimistically work on the assumption Jayme is alive. Thankfully We can see that LE is vigorously pursuing her captor!

IMO, this wasn't random

I keep coming back to Jennie-O whenever I try to come up with scenarios. Maybe it is because they both worked there. Having worked in a company that employed spouses, it can cause lots of issues. Take for instance if one was a supervisor and one wasn't, this can lead to employees seeing favoritism even if there isn't any. 27 years is a long time and I am sure there are others who have worked there for many years also. In this situation, co-workers can become like a second family. Often there are relationships formed that wouldn't have formed in a different situation. People can form fixations on co-workers for various reasons. I just can't figure out how Jayme being taken would tie into any scenario that I have thought of in regards to fellow co-workers.

Do we have conformation if the Closs’ owned any firearms? I recall some discussion upstream about James possibly being a hunter, is this a fact? Because if so where is his hunting gun(s)? This would mean that burglary was in fact involved? Thanks is advance for helping clear this up for me.

Home Invasion in Barron Wisconsin on December 19, 2018 and another in Chetek Wisconsin 45 minutes later.

4 masked men with baseball bats and a GUN broke in and robbed the residents while holding them at gunpoint.
Occupant at second location was struck with a bat after trying to tackle one of the invaders.

Maybe they've escalated? idk

The suitcase being carried out of the house is interesting. It looked full and somewhat heavy for that female to carry.

It would not be unusual for the ME to have their own personalized “kit”. There is a lot of equipment brought into a crime scene, fingerprint kits, evidence kits containing collecting tools, bags, gloves, tweezers, tubes, etc,etc. Investigators will often set up their kits in a way that works best for them as will the ME. The pink ribbon may simply be a way for the ME to quickly pick out his/her bag at the scene much as a lay person uses individualized luggage tags to quickly spot their bags at the airport.

I'm not real sure what you are referring to??? My thoughts are the casino is so close to the house maybe Mr. Closs was sitting there playing and flashed a few 20's or won a few 20's. That's a lot of money to a lot of people.

I said at the outset I was ruminating over *possible scenarios" so there is not a link. Sorry if that wasn't clear. You may doubt that she'd be up drinking a soda but maybe she was waiting for Dad to come home and was reading or watching tv while doing so. I needed practically no sleep at that age LOL

I think it's way more likely LE heard her voice on the 911 tape and that's how they knew it was her. She could have said mom or dad and that's how they knew it wasn't the mother's voice. That's way more plausible IMO than something as nebulous as a cold drink still being cold.

Police always gather all video footage but they don't announce it and they don't go right after the ambulance leaves the scene of the crime.
