Well they wouldn't want Meghan jetting off to America for the festivities. Tricky one, when you only have one parent (I know she has two, but...). OMG CHRISTMAS WITH THE FLIPPIN' QUEEN, Doria must be pinching herself. I wonder if she might move over here to be nearer the grandchild.
Since it seems that the U.K. gets our USA news before we do and in greater depth as well, and we seem to get U.K. news in quite a bit more detail but not nearly the frequency of coverage, I can tell you what I've read.
Some non- vicious tabloid type magazines ( People, for example) have said Doria has taken infant care and infant and child CPR classes in anticipation of a move to KP very soon.
There's also been photos of a baby nanny used by the Clooney's but who seems to only care for the infants for a few months before moving on to another celeb. neonate has " been retained" by Harry and Meghan. She's from Mobile, Alabama.

Whether any of this is true remains to be seen, and deserves a huge shaker of salt in addition, but as it's not malicious print, I thought I'd share what was said just before Harry and Meghan left for Australia.
I think it would be wonderful for Meghan's mother to help with their child or children if she wants to relocate.

No one can take the place of a beloved grandmother, and I'll never forget my special Gran. Plus, I imagine that Doria and Meghan miss each other and Doria can help Meghan adjust to married life, late pregnancy and being a new mum, depending on what the time frame is for her to move, if she does. I'm all for it. I also want to keep this positive, but say that I'm very happy Charles is so thrilled about the born grandchildren and this grandchild to be born, and that Camilla is not a strong presence in Charles' sons lives. She has several grandchildren and I'm glad she mostly sticks with them except for the Royal posed photos with Charles at events.

I wonder if the Duke and Duchess’s cottage at Kensington Palace is vacant now they have moved into the 21 room apartment it would probably be ideal.

Good thought, where would she move when she goes and lives there? And I think it would be fabulous if she did move. But then again, at that age she may have so many friends to leave and it will be very very difficult for her to make new friends outside of being a grandmother there.

Deep Thoughts

I say this with kindness and concern.

Do you think the queen would permit Doria’s partner to move with her into Kensington properties?

Doria may not be interested in the strict rules necessary to live inside those big double gates. JMO.

ETA: Thought I read that Princess Eugenie and her new husband were to live in the cottage being vacated by Prince Harry and Meghan as they move into the apartment next to Wills and Kate.

I didn't know anything about Doria's personal life... Still don't but maybe I can find out privately.
I thought she was a little lady doing yoga at a studio and washing her considerable amount of laundry at the laundromat in a shopping cart.
Traveling to meet Oprah, jetting across the ocean to get her daughter married with a slight family presence.

Wonder why there are photos of her doing infant care on one of those little baby mannequins made for the purpose? I don't think there's baby yoga..
She and Thomas, Sr. have enough life experiences to be what I'd call " street smart". If she knows she wouldn't be accepted by the Palace, she needs to call off the reporters who are obviously on photo calls. They weren't doing infant CPR out on the lawn but in an appropriate building. One on one, not in a group.

This is confusing and dismaying all at once. I had hoped Meghan had ONE upstanding relative. I'm not throwing shade on Meghan. I know we don't pick our relatives, but my gosh.

Princess Eugiene and Jack are believed to have bought a penthouse apartment in London and are moving out of Kensington Palace. They have been making visits to oversee renovations. They also have an apartment in her Dad’s Palace.

The Leicester tragedy is very sad indeed. I’m not a fan of helicopters and would never get on one. If anything goes wrong you are pretty much very unlikely to survive. Her Majesty The Queen uses helicopters and so do Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall and I’m surprised they do for safety and security reasons.

I'm now scared of helicopters, and wonder if the ones used for the monarchy are safer Than the tourist ones? I've been in one twice and never really thought about my safety that much.

Prince Charles in emergency landing drama: Royal helicopter forced to divert after technical fault

The accident with the newlyweds is a terrible, horrendous tragedy.

I would not get on a helicopter as I don’t think they are safe and if something goes terrible wrong you are doomed.

OK, this link was on my MSN homepage today. There are many photos of Queen Elizabeth as a young girl, young lady and young mother, as well as some of Philip, and most of the other royals. Learned a bit of history that I did not know as well. Well worth viewing, IMO, but be prepared if you go through them all, it will take a good few minutes of your time.

Thanks! I enjoyed the photos. Does anyone else wonder who writes the captions for these slide shows? The writing sounds the same on most, regardless of subject. Kind of juvenile IMO, but entertaining in their breathlessness and speculation. ;)

Texas Newlyweds Killed in Helicopter Crash After Leaving Wedding

After seeing the NBC reports about the horrendous helicopter crash that killed the newlyweds, DH and I were recalling our Alaskan cruise when we had seriously considered a helicopter tour of the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau. Helicopters actually land on the glacier for escorted tours on the glacier. We decided against it and took a land tour instead, visiting a salmon hatchery and viewing the Mendenhall Glacier from the visitor center. It was warm enough to stand outdoors on a deck and watched helicopters land with passengers disembarking for various tours. Those who participated in the helicopter tours seemed to enjoy the experience, but I'm glad we decided against it. I don't mind flying but have reservations about helicopters.

Star attraction at the Mendenhall Glacier visitor center: We saw a baby black bear while waiting for our shuttle back to the ship :) I'll take the rare encounter with nature over a helicopter tour any day.

Royal handwritten notes....Princess Diana, Duchess of Sussex, Princess of York, Duchess of Cambridge.

An insight into the Royals' personal correspondence

That first longer note written by Meghan hurts my eyes to read. All those top loops are hard for my eyes to process. But in the second card from her and Harry, just her signature looks much better as it is without that weird (IMO) top loop. Having been a Markle for over 30 years I also note that Meghan and I write our Ms very similarly.

I like Eugenie's handwriting the most. Catherine's is pretty and very organized looking. Diana's always looked so childlike to me. I got to see several handwritten notes from her at Althorp, and they look nearly identical no matter her age.

Here's a look at the Queen's handwriting: Queen's handwritten notes to her hat maker made public for the first time
