(Snipped for focus)

Excellent point. I don't know why that didn't occur to me. Maybe just because I don't get that kind of "vibe" from this family ? I sure could be wrong, though.
Just want to know where the family speculated about James and money problems.

Minor children can receive emergency medical treatment without a parent or guardian present under the principle of implied consent. Care can be initiated for life threatening conditions, injuries, or illnesses for the minor child without waiting for the court to appoint a guardian.
I'm feeling better about this part now. I guess it was obvious to others that she was without guardian. I get deep in thought in one area of this whole incident and the obvious just flys right over.

got it now. id which family member made the call.

Well, no way for any of us to know, and it can’t be confirmed without a direct quote from the Sheriff or one of his staff, but it sure seems like it was Denise from the vantage point we have now. (My opinion).

I also think about how with new information, which should not be taken lightly, opinions can change. But that’s where I am leaning right now. Denise made the call.

Think, this was likely a fast moving crime scene. I have read from victims of crimes, the crime seems to go in slow motion when remembering.

In the fast sequence, whoever made the 911 call acted so quickly, and was very brave. I lean toward Denise, but there is no way to know based on the evidence, even after the release of new information recently.

They also dispelled their original thoughts of debt etc.
" 'They also wondered whether Jim had gotten into trouble somehow, such as racking up debt.
"I don’t know if he would have said anything to me if he was in trouble. I think he would have. He would have confided in my mother and said, 'I need help,'" Jeff Closs said.
But as the investigation progressed, no evidence of an enemy at work or trouble with money surfaced.' "
UPDATE: Jayme Closs' family shares grief one month later

Thoughts from everything coming out today:
  • The Closs family interview and the Naiberg family interview are remarkably different.
  • I'm starting to think Jayme made the 911 call based on the fact that the phone was found "in another room"
  • Not convinced of the family's insistence that they would have known if she had a secret boyfriend. My own family would've been floored if they knew I was an active member of a Star Wars fan forum starting at the age of 12 (and IMing with people from the site many years older than me)
  • This whole thing reminds me of the plot of Harry Potter. The father was killed because he was defending his family and preventing entrance into the home. The mother didn't need to die, but was killed because she wouldn't give up her child. The child was the target.

Trying to remember which school was Jayme was going to so hope this is the right school district. This is from the May 18, 2018 Barron Area School District newsletter(page 4 last paragraph): "Cameras are installed on each of the buses to review and reinforce safety as well."
https://www.barron.k12.wi.us/cms_files/resources/Color-Newsletter-May1.pdf
I believe these cameras are videoing the students inside the bus, which means the cams would likely not catch what cars are behind, in front, or flying by. Read the sentence prior to the one about the cameras. This is likely in response to bullying, violence, and harassment on the buses. "Safety and behavioral conduct issues are addressed quickly with information being evaluated by both the Principal and our Transportation Supervisor. Cameras are installed on each of the buses to review and reinforce safety as well."

Thank you.

Hmm, we haven't seen this verified by LE, but this article also says Denise was in the bathroom. Seems to me only Radar and Daily Mail reported it before and so I haven't personally run with the theory before.

New Video Surveillance Search Expanded, Electronic Device Detecting K-9 Utilized in Jayme Closs Search

When Barron County deputies arrived four minutes later, they found the door appeared to have been kicked in and a male who answered the door, was down. There were multiple spent rounds nearby. As authorities made their way farther into the home, they came across a second person down. It was Denise and she was in the bathroom.

When I click on the story, the part about Denise being found in the bathroom is missing!

If Denise made the call any chance LE telling us this could put Jayme in more danger? If so, why? The perp(s) surely know someone called LE by now even if they may not have in the moment. So aside from holding it back to ensure rooting out false tips, what difference does it make to tell us this info?

Can’t help wondering if the dog was hiding...I know we have been over this...but if she had been right there, barking, I doubt she would have survived. Dogs are the first to go, sometimes, just for doing their jobs. Ijust can’t picture where she would have been in all the chaos.

I know the meth theory isn't a popular one but it is the only one that makes sense to me so far.
  • Barron sheriff repeatedly speaks about the severity of the meth problem
  • Meth's affect on the brain causing explosive, violent, motiveless, and unexplainable behavior.
  • Meth related arrests so close to the Closs home. Anger or retaliation but wrong house? Many here have had a hard time finding it using the address and google maps. The shortness of time it took to kill 2 people and abduction/kidnapping of Jayme?
  • And even though it experience may not make sense to others, I can't forget the cases I was involved on the court side. Some are almost like drive-thru murders or a shadow passing in the night. They were hard to solve. No connection to the victim. Random. Violent. No motive. None of the usual footprints left for LE to follow.
  • JMO: the above could explain many of the unknowns in this case. Or not. In no way am I being flippant but this case is the 1st time that old mystery "guess who done" game comes to mind. Over and over again.
Even with those thoughts it is still just a hunch based on a few general facts. As far as age? I wouldn't be surprised at 15, 25, 40, or 70. Statistics place the age as older but this case doesn't fit with statistical info.
I believe it's ok to mention LE Facebook pages here. Has anyone seen the St Croix Tribal FB recently?
The information on that brings me back again to a targeted but somewhat random crime.
There was a couple(man & woman) found at the Hertel Casino on OCT 20th. They were in the casino parking lot and found with drugs, a revolver ,and a bullet proof vest. They were alerted to security due to their doors being wide open. Not that this couple had any involvement with the Closs family , but it made me think that the casino could attract transient people to the Barron area. JMO.

I wonder if the attack was carried out in a similar fashion to the home invasion in "A Clockwork Orange". The criminals picked a remote, rural, residence as a target. The leader pounded on the door, claiming that there had been a terrible car crash on the road. I can see how JC would be conflicted, his natural suspicion at that late hour battling his desire to help, he might have opened the door a crack. I suspect the perp(s) was/were using shotguns. This would inflict a terrible head wound to JC (and might have caused the responding officers to suspect a suicide). With JC down, the attacker(s) kicked in the door, and shot the wife. The attacker(s) may have assumed she was dead, and proceeded to assault Jayme, the target. Mrs. Closs could have crawled into the bathroom and attempted to call 911, but, due to blood loss, she was unable to speak. This would account for the time-line discrepancy between the neighbors recollection of gunfire and the 911 call.

it is sickening to think about but I am thinking the mother could have lived a short time despite being shot.

The attack could have taken place in less than a minute. As James went to see what was up at the door (heard them opening the storm door) Denise went to the kitchen to get her cell phone.

The door is breached and James is shot.

As Denise is furiously dialing she is shot in the kitchen. The call goes through but she has already fallen.

Without noticing the perp goes to Jamye’s room. The muffled sounds of the perp grabbing Jayme are heard on the 911 call.

When they leave he notices the phone and disconnects before stepping over James on the way out.

Sounds like a pro. IMO
