I don’t think any local cop was involved...

Do you think it could be cop outside the local area... either active or retired... or military police active or retired.

Cop or military police gives you access to weapons / ammo/ background knowledge of times to commit crimes.. maybe info on Closs family.

Cop is unlikely but perp in California killed 10 and raped 40... simply people couldn’t see that done by cop...

There’s been about 5 sheriff fired in last 2 years because of attempted sex with minor.

I dunno... trying to figure out what timing was so solid ... and evidence is 0... if it’s meth head he likely wouldn’t be patient.. or that clean ... military police or off duty cop would have a lot of boxes checked..and ability to do clean..

Ex-Cop Arrested in Decades-Old Golden State Killer Cold Case

The LE akways say child is alive or people will think it is a lost cause

There is a possibility of her still being alive. The family was probably told to say things to her as if they believe she is alive and to try and create some sympathy by the man who has her, to make her human and accentuate that she is a child. That's why they said her dog is waiting for her and that her grandpa wants more of her artwork. They know the guy is probably watching all the news about her.

My updated thoughts this week. I wish there was SOMETHING new to go on. But a few years ago, there was someone who knocked on my door late at night around 11:30pm. My husband wasn't home, so it was me and a bunch of little kids. The person kept knocking even though I didn't answer the door or turn any lights on. Our house is small, and I saw through the side window that the motion sensor lights were going off - I could tell he was walking around the house. At that point, I immediately and without hesitation called 911. We live in the suburbs and cops were there within 4 minutes, the 911 operator stayed with me on the phone. It was a guy high on drugs who didn't know WTH he was doing. The cops did NOT turn on their sirens, and they parked around the corner and walked onto my property.
All this to say...I think that James did NOT answer the door unless it was someone he knew. I think the perp's first shot was to get the door open and the second shot (within seconds according to the neighbor) was at James. All MOO. And I still think the ultimate target was Jayme. I feel this was someone who noticed her and decided to take her. JMO.

If you had one question or piece of evidence you could ask the sheriff about (and he had to adhere) that you don't know about or are confused about, What would it be?
Mine would be, even though they claim it wouldn't help us, to hear the 911 call

Your probably right..47!seconds isn’t long.. but if you’ve got 5/6 words from perp... might give dialect distinct voice... who knows...id rather have dna .. if he confirms that ... be big relief... that would make it when not if... plus people sound odd when they yell... no desire to hear jayme painfully scream.. if that’s there

I think they didn't search for you because this WAS unplanned and by strangers. This is how I imagine drug users, gangs etc. They didn't know you were there.

Maybe! The general consensus is they went to the wrong home and were probably just as stunned as we were, however, they aren't picking up the pieces we are! as are our family, friends & neighbors.

I don't think cop or ex cop. But something ex military. Get in, 'get the job done', get out. Calm, collected, prepared and intelligent. And I do think some 'off the grid' guy/doomsday prepper person.

That would also fit with my police scanner theory.
Monitor the enemy's communication and get out before they show up.

Let's look at this:
Sheriff Fitzgerald at the beginning stated that he is 100% expectation that Jayme is alive.
Why would he say that?

Sheriff Fitzgerald stated he did not believe the public is in danger. Could have said killers are on the loose, lock your doors, Make sure you know who your kids are talking to, LE is bringing in extra patrol to drive the streets at night for your safety ...etc

2 searches and if I'm correct, they were searches for suspicious things, not Jayme

Cameras set up at the house. Even though creepy man that went for her underwear is not a suspect, I'm thinking that they think someone may be going back there to get Jayme some things.

Aunts are speaking to Jayme, so it seems, at the press conference and not a plea for the perps to not hurt her. IMO

I'm sure there is more that I can add to this but it just seems like a picture is painted right in front of us and we're not getting it. I'm not saying that Jayme was a part of her own disappearance. I am saying that although we know they are holding back details to the public, I think they have a much bigger idea and we should just start piecing together the little they are giving us.

I think many of us have pieced those pieces together. Just gotta be careful what you say.

This case is quite a head scratcher.

By now, LE has had time to thoroughly analyze all of Jayme's digital communications. If they found anything, I would think (?) we would have seen more material advancement in the case by now? I originally thought it was a possibility that she had been communicating with someone who then came to "rescue", or abscond her. However, it would seem that that theory would have been revealed by now...

My second theory, and what seems more likely given the time lapse, is that the horrific crime was a result of a deranged individual who had a perceived grievance with the parents. Given what we know about the deceased couple, it's hard to conceive them being in any situation that would inspire such devastating action. The only semi-logical theories I can come up with are: (a) deranged ex-employee with a grievance (b) something tied to the casino and money

Really baffled on this one.
Locals: What's the word on the street? Do folks feel as there is solid progress being made on the case and that there is a particular theory being worked on?

Amateur opinion and speculation

Do we have any locals on Jayme’s thread?
I have not been able to keep up post by post.
Would be great if we did have some folks from close by.

One of My First "?"'s would be:
How many shots were fired total, based on how many casings were found at the residence?

I wonder if the panty thief had not gone into the house, if someone else would have, and how soon. The announcement that cameras alerted LE he was there blew that secret pretty quick. Ive never heard of LE putting cameras inside a place like that so Im curious who they thought would be coming in.

Yes, either he knew who it was or wasn't afraid. That's why I thought a female may have knocked at the door.
im still thinking that it was someone they knew... maybe someone came home with James for a beer after work?... maybe someone came to the door? Denise talked to her sister at 10 and dodnt mention anyone was there so i doubt it was anyone that was visiting with Denisr and Jayme

One doesn’t like to think of the possibility that it could be a cop but it’s a numbers game and there are bad apples (as a percentage) in all groups. Early on, after an initial suicide suspicion, my next thought was a LE raid on the wrong house. (Google: Police Raid Wrong House - it does happen.). Now that is a possibility we don’t want to think about because it would mean this is all a cover-up (which I am not suggesting). But I did think it, initially . . . Must be the City Mouse coming out in me (Chicago and all that).

I agree!!

Just sharing so MTO and possibly in outer space. With nothing new to go on the last few weeks and few similar cases to compare I've been searching what would compare to finding a needle in a haystack. Everything from whether registered sex offenders in the area are in compliance to criminal histories to court records, to cold cases, to basically anything I could think of that might spark a brain cell. It's like throwing random scraps in a blender and hoping it produces something. The only thing I found was the Lac du Flambeau unsolved murder case of Susan Pourpart which occurred 28 years ago. An article from 2017 did catch my eye. Susan's cousin made this comment and felt he knew who the perp was, "If you say anything about anything, they're gonna affect you," Poupart said. "They're gonna take away your job, they're gonna take away your house, they're gonna take away your kids or they're gonna take away your health." Not sure what that means but it reminded me of that TMZ (?) article posted many threads ago where the man was telling a young girl from Barron (paraphrasing) that there were bodies buried out there no one knew about. The only reason I was reminded of the article was because I somehow got the impression this man and his buddy were older and while the Pourpart case is 28 years old a perp could have been 20 at the time and would only be 48 now. For what it's worth hat's pretty much all I have from random weeks of searching. That and one nearby registered sex offender who was not in compliance but not named as a POI so I can't post his info. Here is the article from 2017 if anyone is interested:Murder of Susan Poupart remains unsolved - The Lakeland Times
ETA cousin statement and have to wonder about the 3 men who have been POI's in Pourpart's murder. I believe one was incarcerated at the time of the Closs murders via court records.
