Memphis police searching for man last seen leaving gym near Oak Court Mall

Shaun's car was found only .6 mile away or so. I'm not sure what I think of that. The 4400 block of Poplar Avenue has a few churches and most notably, an aging condo complex. It's gated, which seems strange looking at the google street maps. I don't think it's gated as in "gated community," IYKWIM. I'm sure LE has way more information about what was left in the car, etc.

ETA, there's also a mall or two right there, but not what I would consider the 4400 block exactly. But I'm not a city girl.

Police release surveillance photos of car missing man was last seen getting into

He went misding about 50 miles south from where I live. I've been trying to find ways to set up a search party but I can get his family to respond! I've even was asking if there was somewhere I could donate to help any efforts for finding him - and still nobody will respond.

Police say man may have been abducted after leaving East Memphis gym
As of Monday, police said Hamblen has still not been located and his disappearance was being investigated as an abduction.

[MS] says her son Shaun is a creature of habit, so when he didn’t return after a trip to LA Fitness on Thursday she knew something was wrong.

Shaun had plans to go to dinner with his fiance and friends.

His family offered $15,000 toward a reward, while Crime Stoppers added another $1,000.

If you can help, call MPD Communications at 901-545-COPS or call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.

It looks to be on the roof of the Oak Court Mall where his car was found. The light pole in the released photo has the same accents as the light poles on the roof of the mall where his car was found.
Memphis here too. I live 3 minutes away.
This is absolutely unbelievable and stunning. I’m following closely and praying.
I have no words!

The Oak Court mall is a sludge of crime. They need to tear it down. Yes Memphis has 5-6 homicides in a weekend, but this is a very rare occurance in this area. Center of the city.

The mall and LA fitness are across from each other on Poplar Avenue... One of the major and busiest streets in Memphis.

Oak court should have video cameras up on that top lot. Note the “should*

ETA: i hope LA Fitness has security footage. I also think the perps photos are from Oak court as previously stated, but dang they haven’t improved quality! Ouch

Shaun Hamblen Missing: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com

Shaun Hamblen has been missing in Memphis since Thursday, November 29. Family and friends are concerned that the 23-year-old engaged man was abducted. He was last seen on surveillance footage getting into a Ford sedan that has not been identified. He had just gotten his hair cut with a buzz cut a few hours earlier, so his hair may be shorter than it appears in many photos circulating online. Here is what we know so far about what happened to Hamblen.

From the link:
His mom says, "He is not ‘running away’ for personal space. He has never vanished before. He is in grave danger. This I know for a fact… There is not an official search party. I would not be able to tell you where to look. If you have a feeling in your bones to go walk around XYZ place, feel free to do so. If you go searching and find something, don’t touch it, call 545-COPS."

I also think the perps photos are from Oak court as previously stated

Some of the articles state that the footage with Ford Focus that he got into was taken near the LA Fitness, and NOT Oak Court Mall lot where his car was found:

LINK: ---> "Investigators have located video surveillance depicting the below vehicle. It is believed that Mr. Hamblen was last seen getting into this car (possible Ford Focus) in the area of Poplar Avenue and Perkins."

That's about a 9 or 10 minute walk from where his car was found. Wouldn't he just park at LA Fitness? Or would he park at the mall lot and walk to the gym? (see attached map) Seems like that would be risky in that part of town, especially in the evening.

SCARY! - “The number he last called is a fake number, then it’s cut off the next day,” Lamberth said.

And another article says:

LINK: ---> "Lamberth said mall security found surveillance video of Hamblen getting into a car that he didn’t recognize around 5 p.m. that day – a few hours after the LA Fitness sighting."

A FEW HOURS? I wonder what he was doing for those few hours between the gym and getting into that other car.

This article below says that it WAS at the Oak Court Mall. I'm pretty confused.

LINK: ---> "Investigators looked at surveillance video and saw Hamblen getting into a gray or charcoal Ford at Oak Court Mall Thursday. It is not clear if anyone forced him to get into the car."

What's the exact timeline?
