I read somewhere they recorded the funeral for her in the event she were found.

That thought just grabs at my heart. What a horrible thing to have to do, but it might be part of the closure and healing process. I leave it to the professionals on that one. : (

I guess it's a bit hard to get privacy when your on the front page of every news broadcast in the nation. I dont think there's any turning back from that.

Had she not been missing there would have been no need for her name to be put out there. She would have been afforded that privacy.
If she has endured SA, there should be a way for that part of the charges to be sealed, just because of the fact that she is a minor. MOO

But that's what happened with the Groene's. What's his face was driving by and saw Shasta and her either playing outside in bathing suits. He came back later at night with night vision glasses and attacked.

Absolutely that is what happened...one random sighting of SG and her brother outside playing in the pool. I do think he watched them for a couple of days, but yes. RANDOMNESS, rare but happens with the demented mind of these perps.

I actually considered exactly this same scenario. Either this is exactly what he did or he had Jayme in mind way earlier than he actually carried out the plan. He definitely had all his "ducks in a row" before he pounced. IMO Premeditation to the max!

I think both theories are possible. Did I read back in October that the dad came home from work earlier than usual that night? If so, I wonder if this changed JP’s plans. Maybe it’s possible he wore a disguise and planned to tie up the mom and take JC, without having to use the gun. Maybe...

Has anybody been able to find a link between JTP and Barron that can be discussed here? I believe that one of LE at the press conference may have mentioned that he had a connection to Barron, but i can't remember. Or maybe i miss heard it?

Elizabeth Smart went into great detail in her testimony - I think that is healing. IMO JC is no shrinking violet, she may want to make sure the jury hears it from her.

Everyone is different. Rehashing the details can be a trigger and why talk therapy doesn't work all of the time. I didn't mention my early childhood until I was about 12 and I didn't discuss it with anyone until I was in my late 20s. As I said earlier, rapid resolution therapy (RRT) changed (saved) my life. Talking about trauma can re-victimize the person and I can't imagine doing that in court. There are other methods to work through it and get healing, such as teaching your subconscious that the trauma is in the past and isn't currently happening to you--the basis of my RRT.

We'll have to wait and see how Jayme feels.

Thank you very much indeed for clearing this up. That link (I’ve copied it over) actually makes much more sense and is quite clear: so media only read part of the documents and jumped to an erroneous conclusion. And I followed like a sheep .

So, to repeat/conclude: Patterson father did NOT give the house back to the bank. He paid off the mortgage.

Now I REALLY AM calling it a night!

Sheriff F said they were trying to confirm if JTP had worked in Barron at one point besides at the Jenni O plant.

Is it possible he decided he would take "a girl" and started planning and prepping before having a specific target? Maybe it is more random than we think and he just went out hunting once he thought he had a perfect plan and was ready to go get "a girl" that turned out to be Jayme. Could have seen her and her mom out that same evening perhaps. Dunno, just thinking.

Saying she was targeted could mean many things I guess. It could be that he saw her perform at halftime on the dance team at a junior high game in his hometown then became obsessed? It could be like you said- saw her for the first time at a public place that night. I’d like LE to elaborate on this part. It makes me think of Mickey Shunick. Brandon Scott Lavergne was driving around calling escort services when he spotted Mickey on her bike, so she was his target. Wrong place wrong time. I feel like Patterson May have been similar. It couldn’t have been planned too far in advance because going to her home late at night knowing her parents are home and killing them seems impulsive. Less impulsive, though horrible as well, would have been to kidnap her while she was alone. Going in and shotgunning down her parents didn’t HAVE to happen to gain access to her. Unless she was never alone? Maybe he watched the home and decided there was never a “good” opportunity for him to take her. Maybe she was always with a parent or her Aunt. Didn’t her Aunt “babysit” her while her parents were at work? She did the carpools etc after school right? Or am I imagining that?

If he had found her before she found the woman with the dog, I'm pretty sure that she would be dead and he would be on the hunt for another victim.

JP’s tie to Barron is “Haugen” approx 8 miles north. Perp’s mom moved here when she left Gordon. In btwn Haugen & Barron is “Rice Lake”, where Jayme studied dance. If JP ever went to a recital, saw Jayme & became obsessed, it’d be easy to figure out who she was from viewing the names on the program- especially if Jayme performed a solo or duet.

I noticed his head was shaved in the picture with his mom bag in his mugshot which leads me to believe he always has a shaved head??

3 months after completely shaving your hair, your hair would be longer than his hair in the mugshot, right? If so, it seems he keeps his head buzzed cut

We're still waiting for a link that contradicts the neighbors' claim that they had no idea that Patterson was living there.

If a comment about comings and goings exists (and I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw it), it would not contradict the neighbor who didn't know he was there. I would, I believe, be a different neighbor.

Really? Is he new? I get giving Jayme time to readjust a bit, but fresh memories are the most accurate memories. SMDH JMO

I interpreted that as him meaning they are not pressuring Jayme of the assault portion while they are working on the crime in general. JMO
