Some good comments here but I think the date should be 1982.

Yes the details, dates and verification of their supposed holiday are virtually non-existent and very convenient for Marilyn and Paul.

The question, "Who minded the girls while Lyn and Chris went to counselling" needs to be asked.

Will the police be able to interview Paul and Marilyn again before the trial or will they leave it to the Prosecution to cross-examine them now?

Whoops yes a typo there Estelle sorry. Definitely should be 1982. (Fat fingers from too much Christmas ham :()

I lnked Marilyn’s interview in my post you quoted but here it is again.

RE: Marilyn's interview.

Bottom of page 19 makes for interesting reading. From that it is abundantly clear Marilyn knew Paul was 'playing away from home'.

Further re: Marilyn's interview.

Marilyn's responses to Damian Loone's questioning about whether or not she forged Lyn's signature on an insurance document are absolutely damming (refer pages 31-33).

I can't wait til she gets her turn in the witness box at the trial.

Really quite a goldmine from that interview, defending Paul but then throwing shade be implying he would stand by his brother...
Page 8 and 39 the phrase “the story” seemed to stand out to me.

How true-crime podcasts find clues the police miss
"Last month, police finally made an arrest in the case: Lynette's husband. He has always denied any involvement.

It is hard to say exactly what prompted this latest development, but more than a few people have pointed towards a podcast released in May 2018.

The Australian's series The Teacher's Pet - which reinvestigated the case in huge detail and uncovered new witnesses and evidence - caught the attention of millions of people around the globe.

As yet, it is unclear exactly what role, if any, the podcast played. After all, police had been conducting their own reinvestigation for the past three years.

However, many have been left wondering: if not for the work done by journalist Hedley Thomas and his team, would they have jumped into action so quickly?"

After listening to the RCP analysis it was really interesting about the possibility that the cardigan may have been Chris in essence saying to Lyn “if you don’t conform than this is what I’ll do to you”. Inference being next time it will be you being buried

Don't conform in what respect? Allowing him to have his girlfriend live at the house?

I believe Chris wanted Lyn to continue to be the subservient wife and don’t dare to voice her own opinion or objections about his inclusion of Joanne into their lives.

When Lyn finally challenged Joanne about taking liberties with her husband and then told Chris that Joanne had to go just prior to Christmas, that instigated a significant change in the family dynamic IMO. Lyn actually stood up for herself and I don’t think Chris was used to that. And I certainly don’t think he appreciated it

Has the marriage counsellor ever spoken about what was said in their session? I've now listened to all the podcasts and I may have forgotten that part. I know it's possibly confidential but I don't know about that in a murder investigation.

Lyn was 33 at the time she went missing and would be 70 now. Possibly passed away, or possibly without anything extraordinary revealed at the counselling session, they were just another 2 names with marriage problems. It didn't make the news at the time. It would be like asking the bus drivers at Mona Vale if they remembered Lyn getting on the bus.

I think a marriage counsellor/therapist would keep notes though.

The marriage counsellor has long since retired but at last report from the family, he/she has been unable to be located
