Does anyone think a mental evaluation will be done on the perp?

Wonder if he has asperger's?

Even if he is proven to be on the spectrum....he still needs to be held accountable for his crimes. Definitely wondering how this case will be presented next month..

No form of autism, including Asperger’s is a mental illness. They are developmental delays. Being on the spectrum does not indicate a person will have a mental illness nor does it indicate a tendency towards violence.

I think the report said that a female officer took Jayme in her car escorted by a male officer in
another car. Both officers passed Jake on the road.
The female officer asked Jayme if that was his car. She said she wasn’t sure. So the me officer stop escorting the other officer to tail Jake until backup got there. Once backup was there the 2 officers pulled Jake over. The female officer continued to head away (she didn’t stay behind to help them detain jake with Jayme in the car)

I thought that too (that he was found after Jayme was in the car) but now I am not so sure after reading the information at this link: 'All I can think about is her': 911 dispatcher recounts moments Jayme Closs reappeared. It states "Pullen (the 911 dispatcher) said by the time deputies arrived a half hour later, she knew Patterson was in custody and she couldn't help but put her head down on her desk and breathe a huge sigh of relief."

Don't know if this has been mentioned before and perhaps I'm stating the obvious. but JP's statement that "when he saw J.L.C., he knew that was the girl he was going to take," means to me that he had previously decided to take a girl and had been looking for the 'right' girl. No doubt doing all his planning on how to get away with it prior to even laying eyes on Jayme.

JMO

As a poster on the previous thread pointed out. He carefully crafted a plan as to how he was going to abduct JC, but he seemed to have no long term plan of what to do with her if he succeeded. Basically when I read that, it dawned on me, at some point, he probably planned on killing her.

After listening to the 911 call, I'm just soooooo glad she's home, and he's in jail. To be honest with you guys, I didn't think this was going to end as well as it did.

I will certainly sleep better tonight knowing that another boogie man has been taken off the streets.

He was smart in school. He was on the quiz team IIRC

Really? What is the Quiz team? Did they say anything about his IQ? Grades?

I'll have to find the specific post there were so many posted on the previous thread today.

I marked it in my notes, standby:

ETA:

“Northwood School superintendent J S recalled Patterson as a "quiet kid."

"He was a good student" who graduated in May 2015, she said.

"He was a member of our quiz bowl team," which Serum described as a "battle of the brainiacs" competition between schools. She said he did not participate in sports or other activities.“

Suspect arrested in Jayme Closs case identified as Jake Patterson, who was hiding in the home he grew up in

(My note on this was “book smart”.)

The way he was nodding his head in anticipation of answering the judge makes me think he is not on the spectrum.
Yes, almost as if he was eager to talk, but had to stop himself. Either way none of his actions sound anything like something a person who has Autism would do.
I think he may have been planning and anticipating this for a long time. I got the impression he had been searching for someone by the way he said he knew when he saw her that she was the girl he was going to take. Maybe he always fantasized about having a girlfriend, and this was the only way he was going to get one. Imo

When did the 2 other attempts (by the perp)to kidnap Jayme happen..said perp admitted this...seeing this on my local news..was this info listed in the complaint..I only skimmed the document..

Great question, and did he carry a phone at all times ?? Couldn’t police verify if this was legit by his phone/ nav/ info...isn’t that admission of premeditation... ??

What was connection to Barron... anything besides 1 day at turkey plant ..

He worked at a cheese factory for 2 days and saw her get off the bus.

The whole story seems like he has been reading everything speculated. It baffles me.

@MsBetsy
Jake Thomas Patterson: Jayme Closs suspect was quiet student, classmates say

Jake Thomas Patterson remains a mystery.

At Northwood School District in Minong, where he graduated from the K-12 school in 2015, Patterson was quiet and withdrawn, yet smart enough to be on a quiz team and able to crack a quick joke.

In the school's yearbook, he said after graduation he planned to enlist in the U.S. Marine Corps. and wrote, "I'm finally done with school."

It's not clear whether Patterson ever followed through on joining the military. He did work, for just one day, at a turkey plant, and he appears to have drifted in the background in this rural swath of Wisconsin. He did not have a criminal record.

Hmmmm. Interesting. The complaint report said Jayme was in the car when the 2 patrol cars passed Jake.

He told them every single detail he could. He sat in the courtroom seemingly in a good mood, polite and, and, and, I am having a hard time explaining him and what I watched of his demeanor.
Agree! And at one point JP was just sort of calmly, thoughtfully stroking his face (feeling his beard coming in?) as if he hadn't a care in the world.... bizarre! His lawyer, on the other hand, looked pretty grim indeed...

From the last thread, looking for poster’s name.

Notes:

“So they knew he had gone into the house... I don't understand the purpose of claiming he'd only gone a few feet in.“

Adding to the list of discrepancies, things that turned out to be different then initially reported (please feel free to correct me if I’ve gotten something wrong, I know you guys will :) ):

1. Door was kicked in.
False, the door turned out to be shot in.

2. No vehicles were seen in the area.
False, the maroon car was seen.

3. Only went a few feet in.
False.

4. Any thing else?

I wonder about these for future reference if these were purposeful fibs for reasons including weeding out false confessions, etc, or if there were other reasons (battery is dying darn)-my interest in analyzing these discrepancies is strictly based on wanting to know everything from an investigative standpoint, how everything all went down, etc, what was going on behind the scenes, etc now that Jayme is safe and the perp is in custody.

He only went in as far as a bathroom. That doesn't mean "a few feet" is false.

In my home, there is a bathroom a few feet from the front door. A guest bath off the entry way. The C's home could have been similar.

In general they said no real evidence, when it appears they had some, did he buy duct tape before hand ?? I would think that would’ve said not random instantly ??

I think fbi was involved day 1 and likely thought could be family or local squabble so say incorrect things and see if we catch a slip up, percentage tells u it’s family or local.

This is outlier... thankfully rare..

It may have not been a new roll of duct/gorilla tape, as I believe the probable cause document says that it was a flattened roll of tape. In my experience its very hard to flatten a new roll off this kind of tape. I do however believe that just bringing the tape, flashlight, shotgun etc. with him shows premeditation. JMO
