A girl was sexually assaulted in West park in Hull last night and the police think it might be linked to a similar assault that took place in December. Could this be the guy? I put a link to the news article a few posts up

Could THIS be the guy? Sorry can you clarify a bit.

Do you think the specialist police they've drafted in from other regions could be supporting with the interrogation vs the search? Given that time is running out to question the suspect. One helicopter doesn't hold many people which suggests that it's not people on the ground searching that they're lacking

Are you saying that the suspect in custody atm is the wrong man and could this attack last night be what happened to Libby? (sorry it's hectic at this end)

I just have the feeling that he can't say where she is because either he doesn't know and ran away and left her in the park and something happened as per the screams and man running. Or he pushed her into the river. It strikes me as odd they haven't found Libby and are still treating her as a missing person.

This is what worries me too

Where is the news about specialist support via helicopter?

I am not going to sleep well tonight if this guy's released. I will be so frustrated that we'll still be no closer to finding Libby.
The police have been known to release people to watch their next moves very closely. It's clear he won't be allowed back to his home right now if it has a metal door so they may release him to see if he leads them to more evidence

You must be 5 or 6 hours ahead, not sure which part of India you're in or if there are different time zones? Set your alarm for 3am so you can find out what happens!

Yes, 5.5 hours to be precise.

Can't get up at 3 though cause I need the sleep. *sigh* What to do. I see you all tomorrow! (Unless I can't sleep like you the other day! This case is almost impossible to stay away from.)

I'm sure they can seize passport even without a charge.

Only if released on police bail though.ll as there would be conditions to that bail.

If they just release him with no bail conditions as in they have nothing and he isn't a suspect then i don't think there could be any restrictions at all.

I was thinking maybe forensic lab testers. They have a lot to get through in a short time. Or divers

Another possibility that's Pawel and friend/colleague/brother may have sick thought about kidnap/rape god forbid and have maybe been planning to abduct someone in the near future. When he's seen Libby he's seen it as an opportunity, young girl alone crying in the middle of the night in the streets? Contacted his friend, offered to take libny back to the club to get keys and took her away?

I said similar earlier...wonder if it's A very specialised team that have come in for a very specific reason.

Then my mind ran away with me and I wondered if it was polish police come in to give more information on something that may have happened in his own country.

Then I thought ... I'm paranoid I need to stop watching crime shows.

So at 9:11 pm it will be
Released
Abduction charge
Murder charge

Or can it be anything else ?

I guess if accidentally killed her then manslaughter

Edited - although I think police would persue murder in this case if ls is sadly no longer alive and it would be down to his defence to get a manslaughter charge instead

I think this is an extremely unlikely scenario. First off, trafficking usually goes the other way, ie. from poor country to rich country, such as Africans to the UK or Saudi to work as slave labour.
Secondly, taking a young woman who is going to be missed within hours is not likely. how would they get her abroad? Why her when there are hundreds of thousands of poorer people
( immigrants) in places like London where they have few connections and won't be missed because they may be illegal in the first place.

The police know the statistics and likely perpetrators in missing cases like this, they wouldn't be wasting time looking at trafficking imo.
I agree its highly unlikely however I have just finished watching a very informative documentary where a young adult female was kidnapped outside her home by a taxi driver who had picked her up previously, bundled into the car and then pimped out in another area of England. So it does happen. Not saying its the case here but just saying people should stop being so dismissive.

I must admit I'm surprised how quickly the sniping has started and we are only on thread 3. Wait until we are on thread 10 plus (hopefully we won't get that far) when all we have is wild theories and the option to keep going over information we've already discussed...

What we know is that he didn't come forward to eliminate himself from being a suspect. Why not? Now as the cctv was likely known not longer after the disappearance, it's possible he was identified from that or with some other evidence. The police likely monitored him after that to see if he would lead them to her, if they arrested him early on and he had her locked her up some place it would endanger her from passing due to lack of water and food etc. but as he didn't, they then proceeded to arrest him because at this point they do not believe he is holding her.

The fastest way to then hide a body and make it look accidental is the river which was right there anyway. It can also conceal injuries sustained. The police are just going through the motions and putting on a display of positive action for the public and family. I've no doubt the police are almost certain she will not be found alive and the body is very likely in the river.

I don't know if he will be charged as you can't disprove he didn't pick her up, saying he was helping and she came onto him, he rejected her and she left walking into the night. The fact it is so close to their time being up to charge him doesn't mean a charge is likely, it means they have little concrete evidence and he could be released 10 minutes before the deadline.

Cant get the circumstances of the night out of my head.
I hope if anything this case hits home to people that you never, ever leave someone who is paraletic drunk to go home alone (in taxi/on foot).
I know her home was only a short distance away from the club but she was also known to never take her phone out..
Not placing blame on anyone as I’m sure her friends are beside themselves but I hope
people do learn from this.
