Images of Alesha's body shown to court
The court has been shown images of Alesha’s naked body in a wooded area. Her family left court before the pictures were shown.

The jury was also shown images of a knife block holding two knives in the accused’s kitchen.

A separate image showed a knife on a beach in Bute.

The crime scene examiner said “it does appear” to be similar to the ones in the accused’s home.

The jury was also shown images of Alesha’s discarded clothing which were found near to the six-year-old’s dead body in a wooded area.

The court was also shown images of the room Alesha had been sleeping in before her disappearance. Images show dolls, toys and a purple duvet pulled back.

Jogging bottoms and boxer shorts found on beach
Crime examination supervisor David Ferguson, a witness in the trial, has described to the court how he took photographs of jogging bottoms and boxer shorts on a beach in Bute after they were discovered by a member of the public.

He took the pictures on July 5.

The items of clothing appear to have been removed at the same time as they appear together and inside out.

The trial is taking place at the High Court in Glasgow, Scotland

The jury heard a member of the public reported seeing a hooded item of clothing on the beach.

The crime examination supervisor confirms a hooded item of clothing was later found in the skip.

His relationship with the girl’s mother ended three months after she was born.

Mr MacPhail said his daughter was always out doing something, like going to the beach or the park.

Mr MacPhail has been telling the court about the moment he realised his little girl had vanished.

With his girlfriend he went to a taxi rank and ferry terminal to try and find her.

He said the last time he saw her was when he put her back to bed after she got up.

Father knew the accused - and sold him drugs
Alesha’s father has told the court he knew the boy accused of killing her.

He had sold the teen cannabis, Mr MacPhail said.

The two would contact each other through Facebook to arrange meets.
