'I need my girl found and I need her found safe': Police, mother of missing Iowa woman renew pleas for information

Lori Grommet's boss is bending the rules for her.

Unlike other casino workers, Grommet is allowed to keep her phone nearby in case of a call from authorities comes in. That exception is the least Terri Yilek, who supervises Grommet at Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel, can do for her employee as she waits to hear news about her daughter, who has been missing for nearly three weeks.

"Lori’s just beside herself," Yilek said. "She has to work because she needs the income — she’s not married anymore. She’s still been working, but I think she’s just very confused on what to do. What should she take for the next step?"

A few notes...
  • LE has received a bevy of tips, but have no firm leads.
  • MG moved to Mason City in the last year.
  • A group will be searching for MG tomorrow, 4/3.
  • LE said they don't think her past (drug use/criminal activity) is a factor in the case because of the recent progress she had made in her recovery.
  • LE is in the process of gaining clearance to check MG's phone and SM.

So have they not released whether the medical call was drug related or not? I was speculating that it was but the media post above says they don’t thing disappearance is related to drug use...

When people have used “hard” drugs, so often they end up with damaged organs. I surely hope this is not the case, or that she had been sober and tried again. I’m not well versed in this topic but being on here for so long I’m learning a lot over the years. Those demons are hard to shed for many. Praying she is found safe and sound and can return to her children.

If the patient didn't sign a release, it would be against HIPAA laws to release any medical information. Anything could've caused a medical emergency resulting in a 911 call. All this is IMO.

Could be, but there are several fields east of Walmart. You would think they'd at least search the surrounding area. Okay, I'm not saying another word... MOO
She was seen and refused further treatment. She could have been in an accident, assaulted, or just about anything. I wonder if that was her c.o.d. or perhaps something else had happened?
