All just speculation..You know how it’s said that there is truth in lies. When the Dad said: “Just come home Andrew, you’re not in any trouble.” I’m thinking these are words he may have actually said to him. Something like: “Just come here Andrew, you’re not in any trouble.” Right before he wailed on him, maybe killing him. Also, have you noticed Mom never looks into the camera. She always looks down or hides her face in attorney. Just my theory: I think Dad killed him (possibly accidentally)and Mom knows.

Agreed....look for slivers of truth in the midst of lies...

I had a similar inkling due to the relationship dynamic, the domestic abuse, the substance abuse, the foreclosure, the income loss, and his show for the cameras. As I said before, he was losing control of everything.

AJ’s father said he is cooperating with police, meanwhile Joann Cunningham, the boy’s mother who stopped cooperating with authorities, appeared with her attorney on Good Morning America Sunday morning.

LE said neither parent is cooperating. I haven't found anything from LE that says the father is now cooperating. Maybe that has changed?
Police have said they don’t believe the 5-year-old was abducted, but the father and the boy’s mother — who attended a candlelight vigil Saturday night — were not cooperating with the investigation. Black described the whole situation of a child missing in Crystal Lake as being “disturbing.”

“The fact that both parents have stopped cooperating with us certainly raises our suspicions,” Black said.

Also, it appears that the parents may not be on the best terms or maybe separated now. It's hard to tell. They each attended the vigil separately but they did hug at one point. I'm not sure what's going on there.

It's not. That comment is 21 hours old. If he was found yesterday morning, we would have heard something about it via a credible news source. There was a 9 year old boy found deceased in a lake in Wauconda, IL. The commenter could have mixed up the two cases. The other was an accident, no foul play involved.

Agreed. I always look for body language and behavior in front of the camera. This whole thing makes my stomach hurt.

I just noticed in the above article/pictures that the father is wearing a wedding band. I don't know what that means if anything, just kind of jumped out to me. IMO
 
I thought this comment interesting.....wonder what was in the bag?

This is reporting from yesterday....

When Cunningham arrived, clad in black leggings, a pink baseball cap pulled down low over a ponytail and one of AJ’s blankies wrapped around her neck , well-wishers hugged and encircled her. Elizabeth Vonau, who is a lawyer for Cunningham, turned around and said thank you to all who attended the vigil for their support.

Freund then stood nearby, watching Cunningham interact before the whole group walked into the parking lot to leave.

At one point, Freud and Cunningham briefly embraced, and Cunningham appeared emotional.

Freund walked back to his home alone, smoking a cigarette, and went inside.

Just started to follow this case. Considering CPS involvement and 2 “unfounded” charges last year, plus the drug angle, this is disturbing (huge understatement). And she’s pregnant again? Smoke===>Fire. Those poor kids.
 
As of noon today LE is still saying the parents aren't cooperating, according to this article.
The parents of a 5-year-old Crystal Lake child who was reported missing Thursday morning are no longer cooperating with authorities, which raises their suspicions, Crystal Lake Police Chief James Black confirmed Sunday.

Black said that, as of noon Sunday, there is no new information to provide on the case and no arrests have been made.

However, Crystal Lake police will be providing an update on the situation on Monday, he said.

Crystal Lake attorney George Kililis, who represents JoAnn Cunningham – the mother of missing child Andrew "AJ" Freund – told Good Morning America in an interview that aired Sunday morning that once he realized that the police considered his client to be a suspect, he advised Cunningham to remain silent.

“I just want my kids,” Cunningham said in the interview. “That’s all I have. That’s my life, are my kids.”

It's frustrating to watch parents talking tearfully about their children after one has gone missing when DCFS determined in the past that they should not have custody. I'm having trouble believing the kids are either parent's "life" given the circumstances. MOO.

Do we have proof of DV? I hate to just jump tothat conclusion, without proof. Imvho, I view him as her enabler. He's much older than she is. At one time she was very pretty, however it's evident her addiction has taken a toll on her physically. I get the impression at one time she was a trophy gf for him......and perhaps, the money is going to her addiction rather than the mortgage.

I have seen zero evidence of DV.

And who has a press conference and as a parent, you don't say a word? Sorry, if this has already been posted, but this is not how I would react. She acts more like a grieving mother from a death than a mother looking for her child. The media asks if she has something to say....nothing.
