I'm wondering if "Archie" is short for Archibald and a nod to British-born American actor, Cary Grant, whose real name was Archibald Alec Leach. Congratulations to the parents on the birth of their son - Archie Harrison.

I think if it were Archibald they would say so and add, to be known as Archie. So, I think its Archie and I love it!!

I thought red hair always skips a generation or more unless both parents are redheads?

No, it takes each parent having a recessive gene for red hair. I believe Meghans father and half brother have reddish brown hair, so she probably has the recessive gene as does Harry of course.

If it skips a generation, its due to lack of recessive genes in both parents.

I always figured that Meghan and Harry would opt for a non-traditional "royal" moniker for their baby, and Archie Harrison is definitely not traditional :D Good for them! Wonder if the little guy will get a distinctive title...

Lovely photo and name. I always thought they would choose traditional names.
Look at Phillip! He looks genuinely every bit a proud Great-Grandpapa :)

I quite like Archie. Harrison??
(Anyone any idea where that comes from?)

But...Hell Yeah! we got our Star Wars name in ;)

& Lastly (4 now lol)

Shoot the photographer if that's the best shot he got including Doria  Where's Kate with her camera??
