It would mine if it were brought into the trial. Maybe not so much Junk who it seems has been less than stellar for years, but him giving a gun to a deputy who then killed a man with it would give me pause about his ethics.

But a Sheriff's Deputy with a history of lying would absolutely taint my decision if she was heavily involved in the investigation of the crime. If she worked on the investigation how would I, as a juror, know if she was telling the truth on the stand about what she found out?

As for Reader, in view of all the casinos here, I do know about compulsive gambling. I meet a lot of employees of casinos in my profession. I have heard stories of women and men engaging in sex in the parking lot of casinos for 10 dollars just to walk back inside and play it in a machine. People who will snatch money out of the hands of other players in full view of security, steal tickets from machines, spend hours collecting as little as a 1 cent ticket in order to get enough to make 1 dollar to play in the machines, beg other players for money to play with and sell drugs in the bathrooms for money to play, and other things they would not otherwise do because they have a gambling problem. From what I understand if security sees this kind of behavior they permanently ban the person from ever entering the casino again, but I don't know about the policies of all casinos as each casino is governed by the policy of the tribe that owns it.

So with my knowledge of what compulsive gamblers will do to get money to play with, yes, I believe if Reader has a gambling problem, he would take confiscated drug money to play with. Would he also take bribes not to investigate someone? That would definitely be in my mind. But would jurors in Ohio know as much as I do about compulsive gambling? Would there be someone who is a compulsive gambler on the jury? Or someone who lives with one? IDK But IMO his behavior could be a factor.

Very well said!!!

I think Junk knows how hot tempered Reader is. I think he knew exactly how Reader would respond. He also knew Reader would post it on FB. Remember the very public letter to the reporter? I said then it was unethical and unprofessional for a sheriff to publicly post such a letter to a reporter on FB.

I don't think Reader is the smart man trying to derail the trials. I think Junk is very smart and very devious and knows people very well and how they will react.

So only question remaining is what does Fred have on Junk that she can pull his strings like that?

^ This!!!!

IDK...in that post Reader does seem a little unstable. "Serpent ways" and "false powers"? Not what you expect out of your local sheriff.

There is an area of Adams County, Ohio, south of Peebles and west of Union Hill Road, called Brush Creek.
Brush Creek flows into the Ohio River. Within the Brush Creek land, there is a Serpent Mound. Thought to
be full of caves once the home of the Adena, it is rich in history. The land is protected. The people of the area
are very proud of the mound and a lot of folk lore exists. Google Serpent Mound and read of the formation and
history of the area.

Also very interesting that there are 3 forgery charges against RN. As the legal definition of a forgery is
making a false document with the knowledge and intent to be used as genuine, but only one document
has been mentioned to date, JMO...
One document, three people. HR, JW and GW4. JW and GW4 must have denied knowledge of it's creation? Wouldn't that make them victims of their grandmother's crime? I wonder if they can be supenaed in her trial to testify against her?

I don't think he had Serpent Mound in mind when he said that. I was thinking he probably meant a slithering snake, JMO

Yes I have read quite a lot in the past about Serpent Mound and it is my hope to one day visit there as I believe it has a lot of historical value for all NA's. NA culture is prevalent here as are many burial sites as well.

I am very well versed in the traditions of NA's. I too follow the traditions of my people. I have no idea whether Reader is NA or has NA ancestors. But even if he is NA he is also the elected sheriff.

Viewing him as an elected sheriff and possibly of NA descent I still think his statement about "serpent ways' and "false powers" to be odd. The NA's I know ( and I know many) do not speak that way not even among each other. It is a misconception by many non NA's to think that NA's run around talking about "forked tongues" and "crossed eyes". It just doesn't happen.

What I also find odd is his very public postings of his "rants" as Junk called them. I prefer the term "temper tantrum". This is not the first time. If you will remember Reader posted a similar "rant" to a reporter working on the R murder cases. To me it is very unprofessional and makes him seem unstable.

But that is just my opinion from a long ways away. He is not my sheriff but in all honesty I would not vote for a sheriff that displayed that kind of temper and talked of "serpent ways" and "false powers". But that is just me.

No where was Sheriff Reader's heritage mentioned or any intent. I am of also of NA descent, and my thoughts are
that was not the sheriff's reference.

Research the folk lore.
It seems to be a very ancient site, burial, has stellar symbolism and also is a meteor impact area, highly revered since possibly BC times. What more recent lore is attached to it I haven't found much that would apply to the sheriff except the serpent is considered the bringer of knowledge, but he called the AG the serpent-like not himself. Maybe you could clarify how you feel the mound influenced the quote?

05/15/2019 DEFENDANT'S RESPONSE TO STATE'S REQUEST FOR DISCOVERY FILED COPIES FILED RETD TO COUNSEL

Entry on FW'S court record today.

This is the first I've seen in reference to the Discovery the Defense is obligated to provide to the State.

The church is a converted barn. The group home is located on the same road as the church, kind of kitty corner down the street a bit. A person can see the church from the group home and vice versa. The group home is a house, looks to be more of a modular. FW’s group home residents are not living in a converted barn. JMO.

Thankx for confirming that Fred's church is from a converted barn---that's what I have always known about it. I know Fred's group home residents are not living in a converted barn, it's a modular.

Wagner patriarch in Pike County court
By Sarah Hager | May 15, 2019 at 12:26 PM EDT - Updated May 15 at 4:41 PM
PIKE COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - The Wagner family patriarch charged in the brutal, execution-style slayings of eight members of a Pike County family made his fifth court appearance Wednesday afternoon.

READ MORE | Pike County Massacre

George “Billy” Wagner III is one of four of his family members charged in the Rhoden family murders from April 2016.

He, his wife Angela, 48, his sons George Wagner IV, 27, and Edward “Jake” Wagner, 26, are all charged with aggravated murder and face the possibility of the death penalty.

His last court appearance March 29 lasted less than 10 minutes as did the appearance on Wednesday.

Once again, Wagner appeared in plain clothing with no handcuffs or restraints.

The judge asked Wagner if he was seeing his attorney as often as he wanted and needed to and he replied “yes”.

Wagner responded “yes” when the judge asked him if he was satisfied with his representation.

When asked if he had any complaints he wished to address to the court, Wagner said “not at this time”.

The judge brought up a motion hearing set for Sept. 17 and said he thought that there were two or three items they might be able to address right away.

Both sides agreed to a stenographic record of all proceedings in the case and having all sidebars transcribed.

The other motion was in regard to the defendant appearing in regular street clothes with no restraints, which is already occurring, and both sides agreed to as well.

All three motions were granted by the judge.
