Found Deceased MO- Matthew Beauchamp, 23, Mexico, Audrain County, 29 September 2018

On Monday, the Mexico, Missouri Department of Public Safety posted on their Facebook page regarding a missing adult.

Matthew Beauchamp was last contacted on September 29, 2018 in Mexico, Missouri.

Since then, he has not been in contact with his family which is out of character for him.

Beauchamp is 23 years old with brown hair and green eyes. He is 5'9" tall and weighs 180 pounds.

If you have any information regarding Beauchamp's whereabouts, please contact the Audrain County Sheriff's Office at 573-473-5801.

Due to circumstances they were able to change him to a missing person. Just because he has warrants that does not mean his is not in danger.

Based on information obtained from family members, even when Matthew has been a fugitive in the past, he always maintained phone contact with family members. The family has had no contact with him since September 2018 and are fearful something is wrong beyond the arrest warrants.

Federal and state computer system operating guidelines prevent local law enforcement from entering any person as both "wanted" and "missing" at the same time for obvious reasons.

Using the fact that Matthew is wanted, I have reached out to the United States Marshal's Office for the Eastern District of Missouri and requested their Fugitive Apprehension Unit assist us in locating Matthew. The purpose here is 2 fold. The family want Matthew found for their piece of mind, and we need to clear his warrants.

Audrain County Sheriff Matt Oller said there are no new leads in the search for Matthew Beauchamp of Mexico.

23 year old Mathew Beauchamp of Mexico is now officially considered a missing person.

Police find remains believed to be those of missing Audrain County man

Authorities said they found "badly decomposed remains" west of Mokane in a rural area along County Road 470 on Saturday morning.

The police believe it's him, but an official identification has yet to be made.

CALLAWAY COUNTY - The Callaway County Sheriff's Office confirmed Monday the remains found near Mokane are those of Matthew Beauchamp.

The post said members of the Audrain County and Callaway County sheriff's offices received a tip Friday about Beauchamp's remains being around County Road 470 near Mokane.

"There is no known threat to public safety at this time and persons of interest regarding this investigation are cooperating with investigators from the Audrain and Callaway County Sheriff’s Offices," authorities said.

It is not clear whether foul play is suspected in Beauchamp's death.
