After reading the arrent warrant yet again I have to say I wonder about the choice of Tampering and Hindering for the charges. If any of the atty's on here can weigh in it would be helpful I think. Why these charges?

Does anyone think that there might be another person/s involved in the case? So LE are looking not just for the body of JD but for other/s involved in this crime? I have a gut based feeling supported by some of the facts perhaps that there is some part of the story of what happened that is not yet evident. MOO.

I find it hard to believe that what has been described thus far was premeditated as it was so incredibly sloppy IMO. If this was a sudden explosion of anger event, the descripion of the 30 bags in the arrest warrant and the way the doctored license plates were dumped in a storm drain make a bit sense as panic might have set in and mistakes were made.

But I also wonder why FD and MT stayed after commiting the crime or watching someone else commit the crime and they cleaned up? Did he think they would never be caught and that he would get custody of the children and any associated assets/income? Or, did he/she simply stop thinking? I keep going back to the video footage of FD and MT at the Farmington house when the 10 police cars came to escort him/them for the dna test. Both looked spent and almost zombie like IMO.

Yes but its not 4 miles as referenced in the arrest warrant....think I posted the map earlier and its slightly over a mile.

My guess is that she didn't want the children to live with security or live with it herself. We saw a comment from Farmington police about a few incident reports filed for the Farmington house, but NCPD has been silent so far as I can tell about any incidient reports filed in NC. Wonder if there had been any confrontations in NC where the police were called and a report filed? I wonder why there was no protective order in place against FD for JD? Did JD not want to go this route? I know people feel strongly about this topic and we have seen atty's say that a protective order won't stop you getting murdered, but I wonder why JD didn't choose this path?

Like I said previously, I tried to find any MSM reporting of that earlier and got NOTHING, but based on the only Biltmore that is within a four mile radius being in Bloomfield with a direct path around the club, I'd be surprised if they didn't look into it.

Probably just a typo. I've done the google walk in both directions and it must have been an error. Thanks for thinking about this as I kept reading it over and over and then looking at the map and I got nowhere!

Okay, but that wasn't my point. I'm saying stuffing thirty bags full of evidence into a backpack is unrealistic, especially since there are cell phone pings of him being in Farmington from 1:30-6:30. Then he's in Hartford in his vehicle starting around 7:10. Between that and not being able to fit that much evidence in a backpack, he didn't take the train.

Gotcha. Agreed it’s unrealistic. But how then how to account for the video of disposing. What am I missing?

I’m not an attorney, but the law is pretty clear here, and the charges are supported by video and forensic evidence.

a) A person is guilty of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence if, believing that a criminal investigation conducted by a law enforcement agency or an official proceeding is pending, or about to be instituted, such person: (1) Alters, destroys, conceals or removes any record, document or thing with purpose to impair its verity or availability in such criminal investigation or official proceeding; or (2) makes, presents or uses any record, document or thing knowing it to be false and with purpose to mislead a public servant who is or may be engaged in such criminal investigation or official proceeding investigation or official proceeding.

They attempted to dispose of evidence, and were all but caught red handed.

I’m convinced they did this alone, and had no help.

God knows they could have used someone with a brain here.

Regarding the clothing. Its entirely possible it is hers, or even the kids. If she was attacked in the garage, which seems to be the case, and if they were caught off guard then they would have likely used anything handy to clean up the blood. Aside from garbage bags, and rags and sponges both of which would be common garage items, I store my clothes and my daugther's clothes (and my husband's) in a box in the garage until I get enough boxes to bother to take them to the thrift store or call for them to pick them up. It doesn't have to be something she was wearing. JMO

If he is really hurting for money, maybe they’ll have a fire sale of some of those homes to bond him out and pay for his attorney. Just not sure why he’s not bonded out if he can afford a high priced attorney.

He could sign over the one house he owns in Farmington that probably doesn't have a lien on it. Bail has to be cash. It may vary from state to state but lawyers should ethically be able to take property as payment. JMO

I could stuff 30 of those bags in a backpack empty, but I doubt I could do it when they're filled with clothes and sponges, let alone soaked in metallic-smelling blood.

I don't think the 30 bags were full. I think they planned to distribute the evidence so no one who might find a bag would have a sense of the crime committed. A bloody shirt in a dumpster is something that most people would not find alarming but lots of clothes and cleaning clothes etc. would be a huge red flag to a hauling company or business.

And this is the problem for women without means IMO what can we learn? Women going through divorce with a husband who threatens violence can follow through - how can we help them escape? I don’t know but this was a wealthy woman who was murdered regardless of safeguards IMO

It's horrible. Even a wealthy woman could not protect herself.

I wonder if LE can determine if this is the result of a gunshot or from a battering?

If a body is found, the ME should be/may be able to determine COD - a bullet wound or severe trauma to the head should certainly be obvious; battering to the bones of the body should be obvious; strangulation would be more difficult, depending on how well the body is preserved -- a broken hyoid bone would suggest strangulation, but battering injuries to, or rough treatment of, the body might also cause this fragile bone to be broken.

Use of the 'doctored' vehicle plates dumped in the FedEx box have not come out in the story that I've found yet. They weren't on the vehicle caught on cctv. Could these plates have been used during the disposal of a body, or some previous illegal activity? Reckon LE would be running the fake numbers through the system pretty quick smart.
There was a trip to Florida by Fotis Dulos, which involved purchase of a firearm at one stage, perhaps another similar trip in more recent times?
