Still Missing CA - Noah McIntosh, 8, Corona, early March 2019 *parents arrested*

I feel the same. It's so hard sometimes. I tell myself the little ones need us. So very sad.
It is- it's heart wrenching. So many wonderful couples out there would give anything and everything that they owned to be blessed with a child. You wonder why animal parents like this seem to have no trouble mass producing children, only to abuse, neglect, and in some cases, murder them. It's so unfair that these children are born to sick parents like this- they don't get to have a say before they're born, but the parents do.

I'm at the point where I think it should be automatic death penalty when parents murder their children. Actually, any adult that murders a child.

So many wonderful couples out there would give anything and everything that they owned to be blessed with a child.

Every time I read of a young child being murdered I wonder why the parents haven't put them up for adoption. So many couples are desperate for a child and in vitro fertilisation is very expensive and would be beyond what many can afford.

The average cost for one in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle is $12,000. Basic IVF can be as much as $15,000 or may be as low as $10,000. It's rarely lower than that. These numbers do not include the cost of medications, which may be as low as $1,500 or as high as $3,000 per cycle.

The average couple spent $19,234. For every additional cycle, couples spent on average an additional $6,955.

So, according to this study, if a couple went through three cycles, that added up to a little over $33,000 in out-of-pocket expenses.

How Much Does One Cycle of In Vitro Fertilization Really Cost?

I really don't understand why little ones are murdered on such a regular basis when surrendering the child to a couple would free them up, but more importantly, the child would hopefully go to a loving, caring home where they are truly wanted.

Friday, June 14th:

Godfrey's defense attorney asked for a continuance to April 15. No objection from prosecutors. Motion granted.
4/15/19 Update: Plead not guilty. Next hearing on 5/17. Preliminary hearings are not set yet to see if there is enough evidence to be bound over for trial. 5/17/19: Next pretrial hearing on 8/9.

@Jim_M - any updated court date for McIntosh?

TIA! :)

It appears that 7/17/2019 will be the next 'Felony Settlement Conference', for both cases.

Soo sad, so sorry. How do we fight for grandparents rights?
Did the grandparents never go to court to establish custody?
I am just trying to catch up but I know that the grandparents raised the children since Noah's birth so I'm wondering how the mother was allowed to take the children after so many years and allow them to be around the father.
The only way I can see that happening is if custody was never established, which would give both parents the right to the children at any time.

Maybe the father did not show much interest in his kids so they never felt they had to.
Either way, this is a tragic story and what happened to Noah should never happen to any child, yet we keep reading about it time after time.

I don't know why CPS could find no evidence of abuse, even if the child does not admit to it they are trained to recognize a child who is being coached. Even if they were unsure, they could have looked into it more thoroughly and at least advised the grandparents to establish custody knowing that they raised him.

I can't imagine any court not granting them legal custody knowing the child had a strong bond with the only parents he knew. Imo

She probably went to parenting classes. Eye roll!
That made me cry.

Realizing that being assigned to any kind of 'classes', allows these people to get their kids. And I don't mean all parents in this situation, but for heaven's sake there HAD to be signs of the abuse.

There needed to be better protocols in place for the children. That's where we keep having these failures. Protocols (Procedures and laws) MUST be updated, and followed up on. And our Social Work needs to be vastly improved. Of course that, that comes down to funding. Oh well. What better can we do as a society? Just MHO and speculating.

I don't know that we know. We speculated back some time ago that the daughter also lived with her parents and it was all informal and always had been, that her parents raised or helped her raise the children. Whether the daughter was always there or was with the children's dad off and on or had contact with him, I am not sure is known either. It appears that one day dad either talked her into getting them and moving out to live with him or near him and she decided to. Whatever the case is, from that point on was not good for Noah imo. Likely the sister either but particularly Noah.

At some point, it seems the mother lost the place she was living and was living in her car yet was in the apartment at times where the dad lived.

The grandfather suspected or knew of abuse from I think Noah or the sister and did call allegedly to CPS in the area the kids were, to no avail apparently. I do not know that they ever tried for custody or felt they could. He is devastated.

Why this mother ever, ever left with the kids and moved them is beyond me. Maybe she had a falling out with her parents caused by her or maybe the father of the children talked her into something with some grand promises if she brought them to live out there, or to help, I don't think we really know.

This is all to the best of my recollection. I can answer more freely here, did not want to go too far off topic on the other thread.

For all of these cases and how often I have called someone evil, Noah's father may be one of the worst of the worst of the worst of the devil incarnate that I have seen.

Others may recall some of these facts better than I.

Jmo and to the best of my recollection.

Even if they did try to do something in the courts for grandparent visitation or custody, the courts are slow moving and it's a big expense. Meanwhile the parents had full custody and the grandparents and children were helpless.
One can ask the court for an emergency order but without there being a recorded history of abuse it might be denied. One can ask for evaluations too but a judge might not order it.

I entirely agree with everything you said.

It is quite possible too that this was their daughter and while they did not maybe like it, they felt it was up to her and hoped for the best, then came to find out otherwise. Hard to say.

It is a huge expense I agree and as it is they probably supported and raised these children and likely supported their mother as well. Just speculating but an educated guess. Even then, as you say, without proof even if they were always present, a custody fight would probably end up with one parent or the other having custody and not the grandparents. To our knowledge, they never had custody by any legal arrangement, just probably helped out their daughter and her children with no need to have a custody arrangement. He was non-existent in their lives or pretty much so it seems.

Jmo.

Sounds to me like their mother could have gone to court to file for custody, since she was living with them for some time and the father was not in the children's lives. She wouldn't need a lawyer if the children were old enough to testify that they didn't even know the father.
The only reason I say that is because it appears that she knew enough about the father to consider him to be a possible threat. A responsible, caring parent wouldn't allow her children to be around him unsupervised, especially since the kids barely knew him. Yet she would be powerless unless she had documented custody.
She still could have allowed them to live with her parents, but they would have been protected from the father. Imo

I have no idea if she had custody from earlier years, I can't recall if we know if there was any formal arrangement. I am pretty sure they were never married, cannot recall for sure, but clearly were together probably long enough to have two children.

Apparently she moved there willingly and put the children in his realm and care willingly or so it seems. My thought is once so many miles away from her parents she had no support system but for him and it backfired big time on her.

We all know she left Noah there having heard him asking his father why he was hurting him (paraphrasing). It still makes me ill. She also had photos of his abuse on her phone. These two things I believe are fact per LE documents. Finally, the sister/her daughter had to basically tell her she should call LE about Noah missing and this was some time after he was last seen.

Some speculated taking the kids with provided a government check and assistance. I am really trying to remember but I think she did get a job and work for at least a time.

This is all to the best of my recollection, it has been awhile since the facts were fresh with me. Others should feel free to chime in or correct me if I have something wrong.

I think all agree she should have just left the children with her parents. Whether she felt bad their father was not in their life, had a thing for him he played on or she thought he changed, she made a really poor decision that cost Noah his life and also torture at the hands of his father, imo. He took his life but she had opportunities to do something about it, imo.

This is to the best of my recollection and jmo.

I tried to come back to Noah's thread and catch up with what we now know since I followed when he was first reported missing. I wish I hadn't, it's so much worse than I imagined. I'm so sorry lil man, that you were subjected to torture. The fear you must have felt. RIP bud.
