FJ, with Smart Scholars foundation, told people at the gathering that the girl's death is a call for action.

"The first thing is to teach children to call 911 if someone is hurting them," said FJ. "This child had bruises and injuries. She went to a daycare. Why did no one call then?"

Tim Miller, with Texas Equusearch, was also honored at the event, for his role in this case.

"Her remains were right next to us on the plane," he said. "When we landed, I said, 'You're home, honey.'"

A private funeral service is scheduled for next week.

I’ve said it before and I will say it a million times more....Tim Miller is a saint!

Amen, he became my hero in the Caylee Anthony case and still seems like a genuine and caring father who suffered the loss of a child.

I still hope DV is charged with death penalty. A beautiful child entered his apartment alive, then came out shoved in a laundry basket, then was thrown out like unwanted garbage. COD may be unknown but I hope DA's office finds a way to charge him with felony murder with death penalty.

Does anyone know why Quinell was not at the event Sunday. I read his daughters accepted his plaque for him.

I also didn't know rewards were given to jailhouse informants. I really wonder what's going on there.???

There is absolutely no accident or 'died in sleep' here. Little MD didn't die in loving arms of not-gay DV, or on the way to the hospital, or under the care of doctors.

Her body parts were found strewn all over on the lonely and scary roadside over 300 miles away from home.

This is much more than 'I panicked so I threw the body away'. He had time to think about what he was doing while driving 5-6 hours.

That was my reaction too! Panic is spur of the moment reaction and not a five hour drive to another state and deliberate disposal of a child's body.

Chalfant said he then asked Vence why he hid the body and dumped it. Vence responded, "(I) panicked because of the time she had fractured her skull before."

The two inmates began communicating after Chalfant gave Vence some saltines and soup.

They're in separate cells, and have no direct contact with each other while they're in protective custody.

He said he and Vence would pass each other notes through a slot in their cell doors, when one or the other was walking past.

These two 'have no direct contact with each other while they're in protective custody' - yet, they're allegedly passing notes to one another? I smell a stinky rat.

If they're each in protective custody and have 'no direct contact with each other', how did Chalfant give Vence 'saltines and soup'?

In addition, how were notes passed 'through a slot in their cell doors'? I think Corrections Officers keep a close eye on the inmates as they're escorting them. I would think that the Corrections Officers would notice & intervene if an inmate tried to pass a note 'through a slot in their cell doors'.

Regardless, anything Vence says is not to be trusted. He claimed that he, Maleah, and his baby son were kidnapped by 3 Hispanic men. He also claimed that during the debunked abduction he was stabbed whenever his son cried. Vence has been exposed as the liar that he is.

I think DV had no problem being a baby abuser and killer until he faced the wrath of other prisoners, as we know, his big concern was that no one think he is gay. Now little worm is running scared only he can't run anywhere.

If there is a Hispanic at all in jail there, he may have some real attitude there too he is dealing with as well as inmates knowing he killed a child.

You know what I think of the soup and cracker thing and his needing more food? I think of the picture of Maleah in the hospital bed where her arms look smaller almost than toothpicks, she is slight, frail and seriously injured.

I also don't believe Chalfant's story about how MD died. I think he is making up stories or heavily embellishing whatever DV could have said. Though DV could have told that inmate about the approximate area where he threw away MD. Boasting maybe.

I remember when TM and search teams were out in AK after QX gave them tips, a news article stated that LE was already in that general area with scent dogs several days prior, but found nothing.

Knowing that inmate Chalfant was in Ad Seg awaiting transfer to prison tells us he's not wanted in general population for a reason.

Just as QX was not eligible for reward, I don't believe crime stoppers rewards inmates either. MOO
