*Trial continues (Day 2) (@ 9am CT) - NE - Sydney Loofe (24) (Nov. 15, 2017, Lincoln; found Dec. 4 & 5, 2017) – only for *Aubrey C. Trail (51) charged & indicted (6/11/18) & arraigned (7/13/18) with 1st degree murder & improper disposal of human remains & charged (3/1/19) with conspiracy to commit murder. Plead not guilty. No bond. DA will seek DP. Saline County
Trial started 6/17/19 with jury selection. Trial started on 6/18/19 & runs thru 7/5/19. Jurors: 7 women & 5 men, with 3 alternates.
6/11/19 Update: Saline County District Judge Vicky Johnson denied Trail's motion (to stay in State prison re health reasons), but ruled that such decisions are up to the Saline County Sheriff, Alan Moore, because it's his responsibility to arrange housing for inmates in his custody.
6/17/19 Jury Selection Day 1: Change of Plea as to Count 2 @ 8am, trial starts at 9am. Defense attorney explains that Trail wants to plead guilty to count 2. Asked by Judge Vicky Johnson how he wished to plead to the charge of improper disposal of human skeletal remains, Trail answers, "guilty." The state asked that the judge keep the defense from talking about how Trail pleaded to the charge, but his attorneys say they will make it clear during trial that he admits to disposing of Sydney's remains. Jury selection begins. Selection continues on 6/18. Opening statements expected to start Wednesday, 6/19.
6/18/19 Jury Selection Day 2/Trial Day 1: Defense asking that photographs of the victim’s body, as well as videotape of him and his girlfriend buying cutting equipment, after the murder not be shown. Gruesome & inflamatory. Jury has been picked (7 women & 5 men). Judge read charges against Trail. Opening statements done. The judge just granted a motion to sequester the witnesses. Trial continues tomorrow with State witnesses on 6/19.
6/19/19 Update: The defendant Trail didn’t appear, a juror was accused of blogging and the judge threatened to “pull the plug” on extended media coverage. "The court staff received two phone calls that a juror has been blogging information about the case,” Judge said. “Now I’m obligated to talk to you individually.” Another recess was taken as the judge called each juror and alternate into her chambers, one by one. Saline County District Judge Vicky Johnson issued an order Wednesday evening, banning media from live tweeting, blogging or providing any other instantaneous information sharing in the Trail trial from the courthouse. Trial continues to 6/20.
*Bailey M. Boswell (23) – Next Pretrial hearing on 8/9. Trial starts 10/25 thru 11/1/19.

I guess we can mostly "thank" the blogging juror for this?
I don't know who you are, juror, but I don't like you!!!

It's leaking like a sieve. I cannot understand this trial anyway as BB's trial will surely be prejudiced by everything being said in this one. Why weren't they tried together? They may end up keeping everything under wrap completely, I think. MOO.

They all got a bollocking, like naughty children. AT's blabbing is contagious.

A very harsh chemical like bleach.... "For antiques"
If you're going to lie, at least lie convincingly.

I shutter to think about what those roasting pans were for. Considering everything else that was purchased, it's doubtful Bailey was planning to make a potroast for Aubrey using those.

Also, I hate to be so graphic or to even ask about it, but curiosity has me wondering: the reports specifically said that her tongue, spleen, kidneys and heart were missing. Does anyone have any ideas as to why that may be?

Sydney Loofe's death: Sexual fantasy gone wrong or planned murder?

Also, I think the defense's claim that Aubrey & Bailey were simply on the run/had no plan as to what to do after "proves" that it was not premeditated and was an accident is very weak. Running doesn't mean you aren't purposeful in your actions, and being a poor planner doesn't mean you didn't plan.
As if all murderers have excellent foresight and are highly skilled in strategic long-range maintenance planning.
I thought AT and BB had mentioned going to a casino with Sydney at one point, when they were on the run. Can anyone else remember that? Also, will the FB video be part of the evidence ?

They have other evidence showing they were searching for victim for months before. I am so anxious to see all of this unravel. Its been so air tight thus far. I have been waiting for the real story after all those youtube videos they posted denying involvement. They caused this circus and this pain for her family and friends and our community. Now time for truth and justice to shine a spotlight on how evil they both are.
What's the "other evidence" of looking for victims months before? Do you have a link? I must have missed that in the documents.

This is the second or third time I’ve heard “dismembered to fit in the trunk”. Aside from the obvious, don’t kill someone and that solves your problem, this is such a weak defense for their actions. What is he driving, a smart car? I have a TINY car and a pretty small trunk and I could easily fit a small woman sized object in it.

I also wonder if the judgement that Sydney’s poor mother is worried about is that it comes out that she did agree to be in a fake snuff. Imo

Not just a bit but into 14 pieces???

This is crazy. Has he killed before I am now thinking?

C/P small amount from the article

"A Lincoln Journal Star reporter later tweeted that she heard that Aubrey Trail had been “taken from D&E in Lincoln, where he was being held, on a 911 emergency today.”

Defense attorney Joseph Murray said he couldn’t comment on his client’s health.

Trail has been charged with first degree murder, a class I or class IA felony; conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, a class II felony; and improper disposal of human skeletal remains, a class IV felony.

On Monday, he pleaded guilty to the latter charge in what is being called a “legally strategic move” in an attempt to keep out evidence showing grisly photos of Loofe’s dismembered body. "

I admit I also counted 14 pieces and realized....14 pieces is a lot. He didn't dismember her, as he claims, because he panicked when she didn't fit in his trunk. If that were true, he wouldn't need to cut into 14 pieces. This crime was deliberate and done with a plan, imo.

No media coverage basically seems like an infringement on our rights. Smdh.
From my understanding, there will still be media coverage, but not live blogging/tweeting from the courthouse during the trial while the proceedings are happening. The public can also still attend and reporters can still report, so it's not as if it's a trial held in secret.

edited for clarity and then again for typos :)
