He only has 2 posts this year, but they were posted with "LF," his mother. She has many posts on her FB page about him being missing, and she is very concerned.

I hope LE can find this man soon. Ian leaving his brother's house without his phone wasn't a good sign.
On one of her posts, she mentioned that he hasn't been the same since his father died, back in Jan. 2018. I hope he's ok. Sounds like he's been depressed. I don't like the fact that he left his cell phone at his brother's apartment.

Oh no! So sad to hear it’s been a week. NOT a good sign that he left his phone and then later his car.
His photo makes me feel like he has very loving and gregarious energy. Hoping for the best for his loved ones!

The car has been found abandoned on the highway but hasn’t been reported by media yet.

Oops, nevermind, I see it is posted upthread so it must have been reported somewhere.

There is a park and ride near that exit and a transit station - maybe he hopped on a bus?

IMO that’s very good news. When I was younger I’d hop on greyhounds on a whim and just shoot a text to one person letting them know where I was going. Praying he made some impulsive decisions and is safe and communicates soon.
Being very hopeful for now..

Wait... any indication of car trouble or running out of gas??

Last seen at Lewiston PA Police Department according to his missing poster.

Okay, so he left his brother's house (without his cell phone) in State College, went to the police station in Lewiston, then his car was found on the highway near the midway exit on 322 East. Where is the midway exit? Can somebody add it to this map?

Google Maps

.
Might US 22 & 322 at Midway be:
40.4802 :: -077.0478 Degrees
or
40 Degrees, 28.81 Minutes :: -077 02.86
or
40 Degrees, 28 Minutes, 48 Seconds,
-077 Degrees, 02 Minutes, 52 Seconds

Along the Juniata River, barely into Buffalo Township, Perry County,
near "U" shaped Acker Road, (Watts & Buffalo Townships Route 500) ?

From the Route 34 Exit in Newport, travel another 3.4 AIR Miles,
East-South-East to the "Midway" Exit.

From PA Route 34, Howe Township, Perry County:

Continue East on US 22 / 322 barely into Buffalo Township, Perry County:
http://www.dot7.state.pa.us/BPR_pdf_files/Maps/Type5/50201.pdf

US 22 / 322 East Continues into Watts Township, Perry County:

Also, may the Lewistown Police Station have a Video of Ian's Clothing.

Google Maps

Here it is on @PommyMommy's original google map:

Google Maps

It is listed as "34 Meadow Grove Road, Newport, PA" (Why call it that google maps?). I put the dot opposite the exit, as the Midway exit is only Northbound. Here is is in google walk:

And why did he go to the police department before going missing?

Ok, this could be a long shot, but was it possible he was trying to visit his Dad at the cemetery? I am God awful at this map thing, but I did look up the distance between State College to Springfield, and it's 3 hour and 16 minute drive.

Just throwing this out there, not sure if that is a possibility of where he was headed, but it sounds like his car was found in the middle of that, distance wise?

I've done several tries, and it's on route towards his Dad's final resting spot. Seeing that his Mom said he hasn't been the same since his Dad died, it sounds like he was in a state of grief. Father's Day was Sunday........he went missing on Friday.
