I am wondering if there are more women who may not be able to come forward. The pics I've seen that he was using on social media, were not current. I did not get to see that many before they got pulled down so I may be wrong, but I think he was catfishing.
I think he was, too, and one of his targets was ML.

I'm also wondering if the Army buddies he threatened her with were non-existent. I don't know that she was around him enough to know his military service was so limited.
I don't know why she would say one of the army buddies threatened to kidnap her. What would he want with her?

A lot of what she said doesn't make sense. If she was so terrified of him why not go to the police? Especially after he chased her with a butchers knife?

Maybe if he did one he wasn't required to do the other?
But I thought he never actually completed basic training?

Right. I suppose it's possible to be in both the US Army and the National Guard (Maybe?), but The National Guard said he was not deploy-able due to never completing basic training. Did the friend meet him in basic but AA only lasted a couple days or a week or something? But then I can't imagine the UNG would even sign him for a 6 month hitch knowing he failed basic in the Army. I'm trying to figure out how both could be true and I keep reasoning in circles. I think someone is mistaken, misquoted by the press or lying. And it's probably not the UNG official. MOO.

Text messages between the two of them might tell a story that defense can manipulate into a consensual encounter turning into an accidental death. We haven't seen the messages yet, so of course, who knows what they say.

But if he lied to ML in those messages (which I think he did, fwiw), the defense might try to convince the jury that the msgs convey his actual intent and she consented to whatever that was.

Again, I don't know what correspondence AA and ML had prior to 3am and I for sure do NOT think ML agreed to anything that happened from 3am onward.

Thanks for the input. I didn't think about text messages.

In my opinion even if Kenzie sent messages that included wanting to engage in dangerous behavior, I would want AA to explain how it actually happened that she died.

I would think that a responsible jury would also. JMO.

I think Massguy gave an explanation above.

I served in the Marines so I don’t have personal knowledge of how the Army and National Guard work, but I think I figured this whole thing out.

This guy enlisted in the National Guard, and as such, would have attended the same boot camp as the Army.

So he was still in the National Guard, but would have fallen under the Army for basic training.

As such, both the Army and National Guard would have records on him.

It sounds like he completed the boot camp portion, but didn’t finish his secondary schooling (you attend boot camp, but then get job training later for whatever your specialty is).

All National Guard members must complete 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training, the same boot camp attended by full-time Army Soldiers.

Army National Guard — Today's Military

This makes sense to me MG, except that the National Guard PAO said AA was not able to deploy because he didn't complete basic:

Ajayi was discharged from the Utah Army National Guard in June 2015 after six months of service, according to Utah National Guard Public Affairs Officer D.J. Gibb.

Ajayi was a member of the 214th Forward Support Company in Tooele, according to Gibb. He did not go through basic training and did not receive any certificates or awards, Gibb said. Therefore, Ajayi was not eligible to deploy with the Army National Guard, he said.

What we know about Ayoola Ajayi, the man arrested in connection with Mackenzie Lueck's homicide

ETA: I get that he could have partially gone to basic (boot camp onky) but the BBM above sounds like he didn't do basic at all. What was he doing for 6 months while in the National Guard? MOO.

This case sure has some information that is in conflict.

How can you be a member of the Army National Guard without ever going to boot camp?

Is that even possible?

Yeah, I’m confused by this as well.

You have to go through boot camp, as that’s the initial process. There’s no way around that.

I think what they are saying by that wording “he didn’t go through basic training,” is that “he didn’t complete it.”

So either he didn’t complete the initial combat training (boot camp), or they include his specialty schooling in the “basic training” process, and that’s what he didn’t complete.

We need clarity here.

I think it more likely neither told their mothers because it was a fraudulent marriage, iow, a crime.

That's why I said there was some truth in what she said about it the reasons. I think their families knew they were marrying. It's possible, however, that she's never met his family, but T's Godmother introduced them.

T; "Me and mom were into it at the time."

T on AA; "He didn't invite any of his family either. His mama don’t speak English." I'd say she doesn't speak English and probably lives close enough to attend or T would have said, she lives out of state. That doesn't explain the rest of the family members, on either side, though.

Mom may have been mad for good reason, just spitballing.

They were introduced to one another in 2011 by a family friend and were married by June of that year. 'My Godmother said to me I’ve got someone for you,' Tenisha recalled. 'I asked her is he crazy, is he a killer but she said he was a good person. 'For our first date we went to her house.

This marriage was not a head over heels in love marriage. She couldn't get an annulment for them not having consummated the marriage either. This was a beneficial arrangement for both of them, imo, from the way she has explained it in this article. Whether it was for immigration purposes, or he wanted her as a "beard", I'm on the fence. She's very fortunate that she chose not to go to Utah.

Agreed. Muddying the waters even more is that he includes his experience in the Army as evidence of of his IT-related job experience on his resume: my-resume

Obviously he lied about being in for 2 years. But even putting that aside, he claims he did the following while in the "US Army":

Information Technology Specialist (25B)
- Maintenance of Networks Hardware and Software
- Provide customer and network administration services
- Construct, edit and test computer programs
- Team Lead

Could he possibly have done any of that in the Utah National Guard without going through basic training first? IDK, but I don't think so. And those lines seem like something he "borrowed" from a resume template. MOO.

ETA: I should have googled before posting. He outright stole that line-by-line from the Army website for the job description (under Job Duties):
Information Technology Specialist Jobs (25B)

At my most pessimistic, I think maybe he got caught in this case because he went after a senior in college supported by many friends and family.

I think there maybe others, but from a more vulnerable demographic. I don’t think they’re going to ever be known unless he confesses, which he won’t.

The flip side is he always flirted with homicide, but never went there. He was inappropriate with women - to sexually violent, but this was his first murder.

That fancy pants lawyer may try to spin it towards consensual relations and accidental death, like someone said. It won’t work. She may try to run ml through the mud, and I just don’t see that working. Insanity pleas never ever work, right? The only thing that tends to work is Brock Turnery affluenza, which doesn’t apply here.

Many women do not go to LE who are in abusive, dangerous, relationships. Her interview has holes in it though, I agree.

Yeah, that’s what he would have done, had he made it that far.

The takeaway from this is that he’s a liar, but we already knew that.

If he was in a forward support company I'm not sure what his duty's would be. I found this.
The mission of these FSCs is to provide full-spectrum logistics support to their assigned maneuver battalions in order to sustain unified land combat operations. FSCs provide transportation, supply, maintenance, and food service support to enable their supported units to execute combat missions; thus, by definition, all FSCs are multifunctional.

Does this fit with the resume?

Forward support company operations in separate units

Police continue to track digital evidence after arrest in the death of student Mackenzie Lueck - News Now Vegas

Salt Lake City Police and the FBI are scouring a digital trail even after the arrest of a suspect in the disappearance and death of University of Utah student Mackenzie Lueck.

Police used cellphone records, GPS location data and social media posts that led them to Ayoola A. Ajayi, who was arrested and charged with kidnapping and murder Friday.
________________-

Looks like the FBI is still providing assistance to the SLCPD with the digital/electronic evidence.

The FBI may very also well be uncovering some things in AA's electronic data unrelated to ML's case that are piquing their interest.

Keep digging, G-Men.
As Forrest Gump would say: "You're going to need a bigger shovel."

JMO.

has he been paying taxes on his AirB&B income? :(

I think the kidnapping threat was in order to make her go to Utah with him when she had refused to do so. Possibly in order to keep up the ruse of a legit marriage so as not to mess with his immigration status, just a thought, there could be other reasons

I'm still baffled why AA wanted her and her four children to go to Utah. I think it was a sham marriage from the get-go so that part of her story makes no sense to me.
