I'm finding it hilarious that they're charging this other guy with failing to state that he smoked pot on a gun license application, which would have 100% guaranteed been approved anyways if he had done so. But the buying of a 100-clip magazine & body armor, no biggee.

He's being arrested because he lied about using drugs..as in hard drugs, acid and he also grew his own mushrooms.
In other words he's a dopehead!!!! Not just pot!

Even if you have a medical marijuana card in your state (and you are legal to consume), marijuana is not federally legal so purchasing a firearm is illegal. Pot alone, would have done him in.

CB was a violent teen who probably joined peaceful protesters in recent months, for selfish reasons. My hunch is that others who resort to violence have their own issues and motives.

I won't argue, since I don't know the law, but I find it very hard to believe that smoking pot would impede someone's right to own a firearm. Unless I'm mistaken, a misdemeanor on your record is not enough to prevent someone acquiring a gun, and marijuana possession is not a Felony, even under Federal law.

I guess there are lots of people just lying without consequence on their applications, because if you believe that no legal gun owner smokes pot, I've got a bridge for sale.

I added the link that clearly outlines Federal guidelines. I am quite certain many people lie. Purchasing (even in complete innocence) for someone who committed a mass murder probably put this particular person on the radar.

I think he was a true believer, but I also think extreme politics was a way for CB to validate himself - you know, if the rhetoric is super edgy and there aren't any social penalties to hating "the other side," someone like that who's into death and "accelerationism" can fit in, especially online. I think he was conflicted about guns because I remember him sharing stuff from the Socialist Rifle Association, which looks unflinchingly pro-2A to me. If he was showing girls mass shooting videos on the first date then this kind of thing was probably at the front of his mind all the time.

But EK is pretty clearly a conservative from his social media, not just on guns, and there are reports of other friends basically saying, I knew CB's politics, he knew I disagreed with him, and he was normal about it. So as weird as it sounds, this guy (who would have still been hugely messed up if he never shot anybody) could have had more typical contacts with the other side than most law-abiding, peaceful people on the extreme left or the extreme right do in this country.

My theory of the crime is that the way he was engaging with posts about it just a few hours before, he wouldn't have done it on that night if it wasn't for El Paso, and he wanted to take out people close to him (Jordan/Megan, Chase Beard, whoever else he texted, and I wonder if there were other friends waiting in Ned Peppers). Maybe similar to a family annihilator. But I'm not sure any of that is provable or disprovable.

He was an extremist. I saw the article where he marched against the KKK armed and with a bandana covering his face. He was probably an anti-authoritarian, CT, paranoid, anti-govt type. Ironically, at the extreme end of the political spectrum both sides tend to be somewhat alike. Pick you poison, Hitler or Stalin. MOO,,,but I've read this in numerous places. Both extremes love Edward Snowden.

I'm currently reading some crazy CT about Epstein from the far ends of both sides.

However this guy admitted to doing acid daily, occasional cocaine, as well as daily marijuana. It was also stated officers found him growing mushrooms in his home as well. Not quite just Mary Jane.

CB had hit list/rape list in high school and was suspended for a short time but was allowed back to school.
CB was in grunge band with violent lyrics.
Worked at chipotle at some point and dropped out of college after half a semester.
History of frequent meth and cocaine use.
Talked about shooting up bars with his friends.
Lived with his parents.
Sister was transgender but was not out to many people but did appear that CB knew since they interacted on twitter with her account with name of Jordan.
CB came to bar with sister and his best friend in same car, separated from them at some point in the night and then there was communication between them prior to shooting. They were not aware of his plans. His sister was killed and his best friend was shot. Friend is talking to police but we have not heard any inf0rmation from this.
Police have been able to unlock some phones CB owned but not his main phone.

Really no knew information in the last few days. Latest update was surveillance video of CB in Blind Bobs with his sister and friend dressed in different clothes and appearing calm.

The man who opened fire at a busy nightlife neighborhood in Dayton, Ohio, last weekend was very familiar with the area and even visited the night before, police said Tuesday.

“This was a plan well before he got to the Oregon District (that night),” Dayton Police Chief Richard Biehl said.

The Betts family one week earlier offered “their most heartfelt prayers and condolences to all of the victims, their families and friends” in a statement read on their behalf by Bellbrook Police Chief Doug Doherty.

Now, Moira and Stephen Betts have composed obituaries and provided dozens of family photos of their only children, 22-year-old Megan and 24-year-old Connor, at Bellbrook’s Conner & Koch Funeral Home website.

It’s unclear when the services were scheduled.
