Girl, 15, vanishes on Malaysian holiday

Nora Quoirin, who has learning difficulties, arrived there with her family on Saturday for a two week "trip of a lifetime".

They were staying in the town of Seremban, on the edge of rainforest near Kuala Lumpur.

When her parents awoke on Sunday morning they found her missing and the window of her hotel room open.

The friend of the family, who works for the BBC in Northern Ireland, estimated that by noon UK time she had already been missing for 12 hours.

Malaysian Police are said to be looking for Nora with sniffer dogs.

Cops: Family confirmed body found is missing Irish teen Nora Quoirin (VIDEO)

SEREMBAN, Aug 13 — The family of missing Irish teenager Nora Anne Quoirin has confirmed today that the body of a female found earlier today in the jungle area near The Dusun resort was of their daughter.

Negri Sembilan police chief Datuk Mohamad Mat Yusof announced this after her parents Sebastian and Meabh went in to identify the body at Tuanku Jaafar Hospital here at 7pm.

“A post mortem will be done tomorrow morning. A senior pathologist from Kuala Lumpur will come to conduct the autopsy at 10am.

“We will inform the post mortem result tomorrow. Based on that we will decide if we need to investigate further... if we are not satisfied,” he added.

I just can't phantom that neither parents or siblings heard anything that night/morning, and that is wether Nora left by herself or someone took her !?
Only answer IMO is if someone secretly had put sleeping pills in all of their supper, which is not likely. This tragic case is a hardcore mystery !

Yes, she was found completely naked.
No mention yet if they found her underwear nearby. Imo

Assuming they arrived at the resort in the morning or during the afternoon and they decided to go to the waterfall that same day, did the Dutch guests who said they had seen them actually see the entire family that evening or was it during the day?

She went missing wearing only undergarments. Unclear if found naked means with or without undergarments. This case has had many, many conflicting reports and misinformation/mistranslation.

The Dutch guest saw them in the evening.

Yes, the staff and other guests that were staying there.
The Dutch women commented on the kids playing outside, and how they went to bed at 10:00, etc.
I think she was the one who said she heard rustling noises by the pool that night.
I don't know who said they heard the truck at 3:00 am, though.
I wonder if it's unusual for a truck to be driving by at that hour. Imo

Yes, I just wanted to clear that up because your post was in response to one that thought the 1.2 km was the distance from the resort and I thought you were indicating that that was true.

I just didn't want the distance of 1.6 miles to be turned into 3/4 of a mile.
Nora would have had to have walked over a mile in her bare feet and underwear on a path that would be very difficult to navigate.

As for the ravine, she was described as being found all the way down to where the stream was. There must be some way to get to the bottom through the jungle that is hard to reach.
How she got down there I can't even imagine. Imo

The only 1.2 I’ve seen referenced about the ravine is that she was about 1.2 m down the ravine or that is how deep it was. I think one of the hikers said that in an interview.

Yes I remember that being stated. They had to ask for access to their accommodation early didn't they? Normally it would be from 2pm.

I really can't picture someone dying in that position and staying that way perfectly.

It sounds like she either really did lay down from exhaustion and go to sleep, or she was posed.

I find the waterfall comment very suspicious. No one has mentioned that until now and she could not have found it by herself. If she wandered off to find it, it can only be coincidence that she ended up there. I think those comments are unfounded.

This article says where the waterfall is and that police do not believe she would have gone that far. So it sounds more like the police didnt focus on the area. Nothing to do with the parents fearing an abduction.

Still no mention of Nora wanting to go there. I have zero recollection of that being mentioned myself.

IMO some posts are a tad misleading, casting shadow over the parents not even so subtley.

Thanks for this, this article is from today so they mean that the waterfall comment was previouly undisclosed. Do they mean the authorities didn't disclosed this with the searchers or the family didn't inform the police about her wanted to visit a waterfall?. JMO

I guess its a matter of interpretation at this point. Personally, I read it as the family didn’t disclose to authorities. The first time I heard Nora wanted to see the waterfall was immediately after her body was found. I think I’ve read a majority of most articles. So I kept waiting for someone to publish a statement about the disclosure. As soon as I saw it yesterday, I jumped on it and posted. I’ve been trying to make sense of this conundrum since then. It makes no sense. Either way.

I'm not sure how she knew. Maybe she saw them go inside and yes, it makes sense that she would have known by the lights being turned off.
From the picture it looks like there are a lot of windows in the front so it would probably be easy to tell.
