GUILTY WA - Ben Eastman, 16, raped and murdered, Lewis County, 23 Jun 2018

View attachment 198840

I agree. This was a senseless, cruel, and just plain evil murder of 16-year-old Benjamin Eastman from a small village of less than 1800 residents. Ben was only 16 and murdered by one of his best friends since age 5. Not only did Benito lure Ben to his demise, he rallied up two of his brothers and even his mother.

From what I understand, Benito and his mother were to cooperate with the prosecutor and testify against Jonathan as part of their plea deals but I don't think they trusted these defendants that they wouldn't try something something with hope to get a mistrial for brother Jonathan.

Prosecutor made polygraph exams part of their pleas agreements! I do believe these exams resulted in charges against another 17 year old and his mother from another county. It's frightening to know so many families were willing to engage with no regard for the life of a very loved member of their community. MOO

Justice for Ben.
What?

Among the list of things Brown must complete to comply with the plea agreement is making a recorded statement to law enforcement, passing a polygraph test and serving as a state witness in any other case connected to hers.

Adamson’s brother Benito Marquez, 17, pleaded guilty on Feb. 22 to charges including first-degree murder and first-degree rape. He has not yet been sentenced. His plea agreement will allow him to withdraw his guilty pleas to all but the first-degree murder charge and be sentenced on that charge alone if he meets conditions set by the prosecutor’s office, including providing a statement and passing a polygraph test.

2 new suspects arrested in 2018 rape-murder of Lewis Co. teen

CHEHALIS, Wash. - Two more suspects have been arrested in connection with the brutal rape and murder of a 16-year-old Lewis County boy last year, officials said.

Both of the suspects were arrested Friday, according to Lewis County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer. One suspect, identified as Michael Salazar, has been charged with murder, tampering with evidence and rendering criminal lassistance.

The second suspect has not yet been charged, and her identity is being withheld.

Authorities did not immediately explain how the two new suspects were identified and linked to the case.

Sweet Baby Jesus. It's like a cockroach invasion. I wonder if more will discovered.

Yup -- after Salazar and his mom Hagerty arrested, yet another brother of Adamson and Benito arrested just last week (Gerald Thompson) for witness tampering!

According to a probable cause affidavit, Adamson contacted Thompson multiple times on Feb. 20, 2019, with hopes of telling his older brother to tell Marquez not to plead guilty to the charges against him nor testify against him.

Trial Date Pushed Back for Teen Accused of Aiding Homicide Suspects

Michael Salazar, the 17-year-old charged with assisting confessed Randle murderers Jonathon Adamson and Benito Marquez, waived his right to a speedy trial during a hearing Thursday to provide his new attorneys time to obtain and familiarize themselves with the massive amounts of reports and discovery that have amassed throughout the one-year long investigation.

Seattle-based attorneys Tim Leary and Aaron Kiviatt were substituted in from his original counsel. Leary was present during Thursday’s hearing, and he said the original trial date of Sept. 16 didn’t provide him a realistic amount of time to build a defense after just coming aboard the case.

Leary proposed having an omnibus hearing on Sept. 12 with a jury trial set for October, but just as a placeholder until a more realistic date could be set.
[.....]
At the end of the brief hearing, Salazar waived his right to a speedy trial — which mandates a trial start within 60 of arraignment — and an omnibus/trial setting hearing was set for 1 p.m. Sept. 12.

So what was the supposed wrong against a girl? Age of said girl? I keep seeing little hints about it,but no explanation. If that was the motive behind this brutality, and 'lesson'? In murder cases there is usually talk of the motive, This is the first time I've seen it come from the horses mouth, in this case. yet it's not fully explained.
Didn’t I read somewhere early on that Ben had a crush on/ dated/ was romantically involved somehow with the murderer’s sister? Very early on? I’ve followed this one from a distance, so not clear on all the details.

Is there a simplified list somewhere of all the conspirators/charges/relationships involved? There’s so many players, with so many ties, and so many charges, over so many months I admit I’ve lost track of who’s who & what’s what. Ben’s face keeps me checkn back for justice, but what a tangled web they wove.

Horrible tragedy for such a small town. The layers of betrayal- on top of the horror of rape & murder- is just so catastrophic.

I've been thinking about how these brothers & company have enjoyed local jail incarceration for more than a year. I can't wait for them to begin serving their sentences at the "big house."
