No. Gannon, aka Guckert, is the former White House reporter who had previously been an adult gay escort. He has no connection with this case other than in the imaginations of internet conspiracy theorists.

No Johnny Gosh was the boy they thought that was in the Polaroid picture. With the female.
'They' have claimed that Gosch was the boy in various different photos, I don't know which particular one you're referring to.

There was a picture found in a convenience store parking lot. Where a white van was parked. And there was a teens aged girl in the photo and a boy. Both bound and tape over their mouths. I believe Gosch’s mother stated in the documentary she thought it was him.

She's not the only mother of a missing child who claimed one of the kids in that photo to be hers...

Being a mother I have to say I would recognize my own child. I would know her voice, I would know what injuries she would inflict on someone if they were trying to abduct her.i know what she would do if someone pulled a gun on her or a weapon. I know birthmarks she has her father has no idea about. So I have to believe them when they say that is their child.

No you don't. Just because you would never misidentify another child as yours, it doesn't mean no other mother would. Mothers differ, just like any other section of the population.

Hadn't thought of that name in many years. Oh my, what a character, but as you say, the timeline doesn't fit.

I really hope Johnny's case is solved some day. I fear he met the same fate as many other kids in his situation- assaulted, murdered and disposed of within 24 hrs of his kidnapping. Probably done by someone who lived less than an hour from where Johnny was kidnapped.

Jeff Gannon, real name James Guckert, is not Johnny Gosch. He's more than ten years older than Gosch and graduated college in 1980, two years before Gosch was kidnapped. His college graduation photos were floating round at one point, if you search through the earlier threads on Gosch on here you'll probably find them, along with a few thorough debunkings of the various conspiracy theories that have plagued this case.

Ok. Thanks. I have never seen the college photos. Obviously, they would provide some concrete evidence to put this theory to rest for me. This case really is plagued by conspiracy theories & the rough thing for me is that some of them seem to hold water. I would never normally entertain such an unlikely scenario as the whole Gannon is Gosch thing, but with this case it feels almost wrong to dismiss anything.

Well, Noreen also thought he was possibly Gosch last I checked. I do not want to speak ill of her. I don't know what has motivated her to make some of the claims she has in the past. It could be as simple as her trying to keep his case alive, through whatever means possible, and I get that. But it hasn't always been helpful for people trying to separate fact from fiction.

It's such a heartbreaking case.

For new info on the Johnny Gosch case I strongly recommend the podcast Faded Out. I think it is excellent. I'm about halfway through and am curios if anyone else is familiar with it?

I am a current listener of this podcast and I too think it is excellent. After listening to this podcast I do not think Johnny was sold into a trafficking ring. The host of this podcast did a great job of covering Johnny's kidnapping and offering a different point of view as to what could have happened to Johnny.

Johnny Gosch went missing 37 years ago Thursday

"DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) - It has been 37 years since a 12-year-old boy disappeared while delivering the Des Moines Register's Sunday paper.

Police believe someone kidnapped Johnny Gosch near his West Des Moines home on Sept. 5, 1982. At first, police thought he ran away, but his mother said back in 1982 that she never believed that was the case.

West Des Moines police tell station KCCI the case remains active, and the department still gets tips but nothing has solved the crime.

"I think that our son was taken off the corner of 42nd and Marcourt," his mom Noreen Gosch said in a 1982 interview. "I don't believe for one minute that he ran away or walked voluntarily with anyone. He just wouldn't do that."

Police said there's no evidence to suggest he is alive.

Theories of kidnapping and sex rings have come and gone.

The case also inspired the first missing pictures on milk cartons thanks to Anderson Erickson Dairy."

I would love to track down the full 1994 episode of America's Most Wanted where John Walsh sets up a meeting between Noreen and Paul Bonacci.
One huge crucial question that needs answering is....WHO is the prison guard that supposedly owned the ranch that Paul Bonacci takes America's Most Wanted to visit in Colorado? The ranch has underground area where they supposedly kept children. There was also initials carved into the wood. They mention it was owned by a missing prison guard. I have yet to find out anything regarding who this person may or may not be. Why wouldn't he be a person of interest? Why not a huge search? Then as always we cases like this which may involve powerful people like politicans, military ( Michael Aquino), what happens after the airing? The ranch burns down. Yeah that isn't suspicious at all.

I’d like to know the answers to this as well. Especially since I just don’t buy everything Bonacci is trying to sell.

I believe in Bonacci just by watching how he reacts in multiple interviews when discussing the trauma, the kidnapping, Larry E. King, and various other details. He is really shook up when discussing the trauma. In WHO TOOK JOHNNY, was there a doctor who mentioned that people suffering from the personality disorder that Bonacci has are also known to be incapable of lying. I need to look further into that one though.
I do believe 100 percent that Colonel Michael Aquino was involved and had Johnny at one point. Aquino just seems like this made up James Bond Villian, just so bizarre that he is able to exist in the military especially with all the dark CIA operations and multiple pedophile accuations associated with him

I have no doubt Bonacci is a victim of trauma. However there is no proof that his claims regarding Johnny are true.

I do not think you will find a psychiatric doctor or board certified therapist in this day and age who will agree with the claims of the doctor in the book. There is no type of mental disorder capable of rendering someone unable to lie-it simply does not exist. During the period of the time this book was published, there were many fantastical claims made about such disorders-all fueled by Satanic Panic and other conspiracy based ideas that did much harm to those who happened to be under the care of such practitioners. Sadly, just because someone has credentials does not necessarily make them credible, and this doctor’s ideas would definitely not be shared by the mental health community today at all.

The book, while interesting, sadly does not provide proof or back up any claims. What little sources there are aren’t ones that can be verified. That’s been the trouble over the years-all we have are fantastic claims but no concrete evidence that any of this is true. Keeping an open mind is good, as horrible things have happened at the hands of horrible people-but not every story that is said, published, re-told is going to be true. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are kernels of truth in some of these stories however until any verifiable facts come out, they remain stories.

Do you guys believe that it was Johnny who came to visit Noreen that one time? I think it could have been. If not, why not?
