If he's already killed the mom and intended to kill the baby, why take her with him?? why not do it there and leave her? this one is odd IMO. And if mom was killed Friday - why was the baby still alive saturday only to end up in a donation center box if that is what happened??? many questions.

I hate to try to think this way and rationalize, but here I go.

If VM's mother really was beaten so badly that they are having trouble identifying her, it shows an instability and rage in the murderer. If they then took VM, but had no idea what to do with a traumatized, upset 1YO, they could have easily snapped again and done something they hadn't intended to do when they took her...

Unfortunately this makes sense. especially if the murder was on Friday - poor baby...

The search for a missing 1-year-old girl from Ansonia continued Thursday as one of the girl’s relatives was held in jail in New Haven after he was arrested on weapons charges.

The arrest was made after Ansonia police served a search and seizure warrant on the man’s residence in New Haven’s Fair Haven Heights neighborhood.

Police conducted the New Haven search in connection to “an ongoing Ansonia homicide investigation,” according to an incident report written by New Haven Detective Elizabeth White. The Ansonia police are currently investigating the homicide of a woman thought to be the 1-year-old girl’s mother.

The 43-year-old man was charged with possessing two stun guns, according to an arrest report authored by New Haven police. It is illegal for him to possess the items because he is a convicted felon, according to the document.
