You don't have to do it with your own money, and you don't have to do it independently. IF (big if) he were licensed, he could have been working for a brokerage house, or something like that.

I don't think he was, especially recently, but you never know. The most successful trader I ever ran across was a 76-year-old retired nurse...deceased, sadly, or I'd pump her for information.

That was my point. I don't think a brokerage house was going to put up their own money for an inexperienced felon, to gamble daily on the stock market with it. But who knows, maybe he had a brokers license, which takes a minimum of 4 yrs college and then the testing:

Assuming someone wants to work for a brokerage firm or investment bank, a bachelor's degree will be required. There is no particular major needed, although something in the business or financial field is recommended. Common stock brokerdegrees include accounting, business, finance and economics.Apr 21, 2019

There are people who refer to themself as a day trader just playing the market with their own money. Perhaps he falls into that category. JMO.
 
IMO, he is not a day trader. I read somewhere that a neighbor said he had asked him for work at some point. I think he is a day worker or day laborer. In my town, those without steady jobs can show up at a parking lot near town by 6am. Farmers, construction workers, etc will show and give a day job to someone that suits there needs. MOO JMO

That's what I've been trying to say. Possibly he USED to be a day trader at whatever level, but he would have lost that after the felony conviction, for sure. He wouldn't want to publicize that!

Though a friend tells me another slang meaning of day trader is somebody who goes to the casinos in the middle of the day...
 
What difference does it make if he was or was never a day trader? Since he hasn’t been named a poi in this case we shouldn’t be discussing him like he is.
As far as we know he is innocent and has just lost the mother of his daughter and his little girl is missing.

The morning snowfall did nothing to deter family and friends gathered Wednesday for the funeral service at St. Andrew Catholic Church for Christine Holloway, who was found dead Dec. 2 and whose toddler daughter is still missing.

In the wake of the tragedy, people have rallied around the Holloway family, including Wusthof USA in Norwalk, where Holloway’s brother, Steven, works. An employee there confirmed that money is being raised for the family.

Holloway’s 1-year-old daughter, Vanessa Morales, is still missing and police are investigating both incidents.

Mom Christine was buried this morning. If somebody has known all along that her baby is deceased and where she is, I can think of nothing crueler than to prevent the mother and child from being together in their final resting place. This loss is so disturbing. :(

From the above article “ One person unable to attend the funeral was Josh Morales, of Naugatuck, whose uncle is Jose Morales, Vanessa’s father. Though he organized some friends to hand out fliers last week seeking information about Vanessa, Josh Morales said he was unable to attend the service because he had to work Wednesday.“

Isn’t this the guy who’s been quite vocal in the
Media ? The one who said who would be this crazy ?? Seems a bit strange he couldn’t take the day off.
