*Pretrial (Omnibus) Hearings (see below) (@ 8:30am CT) – IN – Nicole Lynn Bowen (30) (missing March, 29, 2019, Jefferson Township, Newton County, found March 30, 2019) – for *Ashley N. Garth (26) arrested (4/3/19) & charged (3/29/19) with felony count of assisting a criminal. $25K bond.
No trial date set.
7/29/19 Update: Defendant failed to appear. Court advised DNA evidence has not yet been received & Court resets Omnibus hearing to 11/22/19.
11/22/19 Update: Four of five people who have been tied to the March 29 strangulation & torture death – including the murder suspect, Kirts, – have been offered plea deals, the Newton County prosecutor and attorneys for the accused said Friday morning in Newton Superior Court. Judge Daniel Molter set a Dec. 18 court date for Beckley, Mathis & Garth. Those three were charged with assisting a criminal, a level 5 felony that carry possible prison sentences of one to six years. DA Drinski told Judge Molter that a plea deal with Garth was contingent on the DNA results, which he said could lead him to add a charge of murder against her.
For *Christopher Channing Mathis (27) arrested (4/10/19) & charged (3/28/19) with felony count of assisting a criminal & obstruction of justice. Plead not guilty. $50K bond Surety only.
Trial set to begin 4/6/20.
6/28/19 Update: Omnibus hearing on 11/22/19.

6/28/19 Hearing for Parker, Garth, Mathis & Beckley. Reset all for Pretrial hearings for the “Four” in 11/22. Individual trials will following between April & June of 2020. Bonds range from $25K to $50K. Parker’s trial is 5/4/20, Beckley’s trial on 6/1/20 & Mathis’ trial start 4/6/20. No trial date for Garth or Kirts.

*Jasmine Nicole Parker (34) – 10/8/19 Plead guilty. According to the plea agreement, Parker also will serve four years in prison for being a habitual offender, based on felony convictions in 2018 for unlawful possession of a syringe in Jasper County and in 2004 for burglary in Tippecanoe County.
*Garrett Kenneth Kirts (21) – 12/13/2019: Order Set for Hearing: State's motion to set jury trial is set for hearing on 1/6/20. Final Disposition on 1/8/20. Possible plea deal with a 45 year sentence. No trial date set.

Do you suppose this is what GK's newer assisting a murderer charge(s) (not exact wording) must be about?

I haven't heard about any new charges for GK.... I know he has a case in Carroll County re strangulation & domestic battery charges. Next hearing on that is 2/3.

Maybe when @Tippy Lynn gets here, she can let us know, as I can't access those murder charges for GK. They are on a different data base than the other charges that I can see.

The DNA must be back and show her involvement with the strangulation and suffocation.. Wicked, horrible, people.

ETA if Kirts has additional assisting a murderer that must be helping Garth by bringing Nicole over there in the first place.

but i think that is doxpop you are thinking of? that tippy has? but now, for some reason, the newton county charges are showing up in mycase, is this not how you looked up AG? before they were only available in tippy's doxpop for the newton county cases

also, in the meantime, i have just looked up Christopher Mathis and Talitha Beckley (charged in NB's case) in mycase and it seems they did not have new charges added today like AG did, but were each scheduled for jury trials in April and June of next year
 
I don't know what to make of Garth's murder charge and Kirts' assisting a criminal charge.

Did they think in the beginning that he just assisted, then learned he did the killing so the court dismissed that case #56D01-1904-F5-000345 with the ability to bring it back up in the future.
Kirts' current murder case #56D01-1904-MR-000367

Now Garth has the murder charge, case #56D01-1912-MR-001281 and her assisting a criminal case is still active, case #56D01-1904-F5-000376

Her bond was set at $25,000 so she likely is out.
