With it being late Friday afternoon, are we likely to get an ID on the remains today? Would it be safe to assume LE already had PH dental records, fingerprints or DNA ready for a possible match?
They may already know but it does takes time to notify family and it's not unheard of to give that family time before announcing. The family may also be called in to identify. If it's PH I would guess they already know. If it isn't PH they may still be trying to identify or locate family.

Well hopefully the tips weren't totally "anonymous" because one would believe that only those involved or that the involved party/parties had spoke to would have this information.
Could be a conversation that was overheard or something other that seemed suspicious.

“From The Trussville Tribune staff reports

HUEYTOWN — The Trussville Police Department confirmed the body found on Friday in Hueytown, is that of missing Trussville woman Paighton Houston.

On Thursday evening, authorities from the Trussville Police Department, the Birmingham Police Department, the Hueytown Police Department, Jefferson County Deputies and units with the Metro Area Crime Center cordoned off a residential area on Chapel Drive near Love Street in Hueytown, after receiving information in the search for Houston.

At the scene, officers searched backyards with flashlights along Chapel Drive. Dozens of unmarked and marked cars along with K9 units were at the scene. The scene was secured around 9:30 p.m. while investigators awaited daylight.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office arrived on the scene around 11:30 a.m. on Friday. A white van pulled behind the house and left the scene at 12:50 p.m. At approximately 12:57 p.m., Bessemer Cutoff District District Attorney Lynneice Washington confirmed that a body was discovered in a shallow grave. Washington said the body was covered with a sheet before being buried.

Positive identification of the deceased applies to all-- not only the high profile. However, with advanced technology (DNA, etc.,) it's not as grim as we've long seen on TV. In many areas, identification is now possible by a photo and physical viewing of the body by next of kin not required.

yes. Collin Romero's mom did not look at him. he was beaten, shot, tortured, left in the elements for some days, and buried in a shallow grave in dirt for some days to a week. they advised her not to. she regrets it actually :( she flt guilty and cowardly for not looking at him. heartbreaking. all that to say, visual ID isnt required w the technology these days.

My mistake for not reading thru all the rules. Please remove if need be.

Have you heard if there will be a PC?
No word on a PC, but I’d be surprised if there was one. Law enforcement probably isn’t prepared to answer the questions that will be asked.

After an arrest is made though, I think there will be one. It looks like things are trending that way.

Breaking -- positive ID for PH

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office arrived on the scene around 11:30 a.m. on Friday. This report does not confirm by BPD that she was seen on video. It only confirms the viewed video “... from a bar where she was last seen.”
“According to WBRC, citing Sergeant Johnny Williams with the Birmingham Police Department, authorities did not see Houston on security footage leaving with two men from the Tin Roof Bar in Birmingham. They have not found anyone matching their descriptions, Williams said. It’s unclear whether police spotted Houston on security footage at all.” (BBM)
Paighton Houston: Police say no men seen on security footage with missing woman who texted ‘I feel in trouble’ after vanishing [Report]

LE has not confirmed either way.
