A $1 million reward, the largest in New South Wales history, has been announced for information that leads to the arrest of the person who abducted missing toddler William Tyrrell, or for the boy’s safe return or recovery.

William, then aged three, went missing from the backyard of his grandmother’s home in Kendall, on the state's mid-north coast, on September 12, 2014.

[...]

"You’re in a much better position if you come to us than if we come to you."

Det. Insp. Jubelin also said the investigation was "a long way" from going to a coronial inquest, and that police did not believe William's family were involved.

PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT IS WRITTEN BELOW. YOU MUST FOLLOW WHAT IS OUTLINED OR YOU WILL BE TIMED OUT OR BANNED!!!!

Thanks to DrSleuth for your help in writing up the information needed for the discussion.

Here is what we can and cannot discuss.

No identifying the biological family, the foster family or any associates ( ie siblings, etc ) or their addresses, places of employment or childcare, etc

They can be identified as bio mother etc & female foster carer etc

At the inquest, they are known as biological mother & father. Foster family are known as FFC ( female foster carer ) MFC ( male foster carer ) FFGM ( female foster grandmother ) etc
REMEMBER THE ABOVE PEOPLE
CANNOT BE IDENTIFIED USING THEIR INITIALS.

Prior to the coronial inquest, the bio families could be identified, but it was overturned by the coroner for the inquest.

I am very sorry it took me so long to open this thread back up. Please keep in mind we are short handed so if this thread starts to get out of control with alerts we will have to close it again.
Please do not hesitate to alert but make sure the alert is truly needed. We have experienced a lot of tit for tat alerts and that makes me foam at the mouth, grow hair on my hands and my teeth turn into fangs. In other words please be sure when you post you are posting within our terms of service.

Thank you,
Tricia

Dysfunction in William Tyrrell investigation exposed in court
They were supposed to find what happened to missing toddler William Tyrrell – but a court has heard police Strike Force Rosann was battling under-resourcing, infighting and – according to its ousted leader – a witch hunt.

Detective Gary Jubelin vowed to find William Tyrrell but his strike force, set up to find the lost little boy, was fractured, battling under-resourcing and glitchy listening devices, and even the chief of the homicide squad wanted to disband it, a court has heard.

In a damning police interview the former head of the investigation also claimed he was the victim of a witch hunt with police top brass trying to justify “derailing” the missing child case.

The fifth day of hearings into allegations Jubelin illegally recorded four conversations has revealed how divided Strike Force Rosann was – particularly between its chief and second in command, Craig Lambert.

Ms Cuneen read from Det Snr CST Rodden’s statement which said she had been “frustrated” by officer-in-charge Lambert’s “lack of communication” and lack of “alternatives” to Jubelin’s focus on Mr Savage.

“Through the investigation I was frustrated that while (OIC Lambert) was not agreeing … was not providing an alternative approach or other persons of interest or line of inquiry,” Ms Cuneen read.

“There was little communication between staff and Lambert.”

Ms Cunneen asked Det Snr CST Rodden if she knew her boss, Homicide Squad Detective Superintendent Scott Cook, felt “no success was to be achieved and things should be discontinued” with Strike Force Rosann.

“Yes,” she replied.

I'm so glad these other police officers on SFR have had the courage to speak up & tell the truth & are supporting Gary.

I am glad, too. The police have had to stay silent about this whole debacle ... with just a couple of them able to show support by quietly accompanying Jubes to court.

Now the truth comes out. Jubes is respected, admired, not thought to be a bully, has great drive and initiative. Seems his only 'mistakes' could be in harassing his bosses for more resources for William's investigation, and not ceasing to investigate someone who Lambert didn't want investigated.

Jubes you are too good a copper along the lines of DI Frost, Detective Harry Bosch, Inspector Morse - you’re there for the victims and the families - not to climb the ladder. It’s a shame when the high ups are the sycophants, failures and pencil pushers who don’t have your bravery and determination but who can sit in judgement of you. I’m sure you will be vindicated.

Thank you to everyone covering GJ,here in NZ we havnt got one scrap of info..great work keeping William out in the world .. shame on the NSW Police Force to just dispose of a 3 year old Australian childs investigation and to try and pin a great cop down who wants to find William and cares enough to do so,all for im guessing saving a few $

Yes, look at Ron Iddles and his tears and sadness on all the cases he was involved in and how they impacted his life. I imagine GJ would be the same . It’s not just a job to these men. So much respect to them .

Great reporting.. thanks for all the up to date info..
police office politics took centre stage over the life of an innocent missing lil 3yo boy.. William deserves so much more.. the only face that stands out in the minds of all those following this sad story from the very beginning is Gary Jubelin.. tireless dedication and determination..
I personally will never lose faith that one day all will be revealed to William Tyrrell’s loved ones and justice will be served.. No stone left unturned

My point of view .......................

I believe Jubelin's high profile in part caused by the Underbelly Badness crime-series being based on him giving him a 'celebrity status' hasn't endured him to a lot of his colleagues and superiors in the nsw police. I can recall that even the foster carers on one of Lia Harris's podcasts, said they were enamored with his celebrity and were given copies of the relative crime-series videos to watch and they did watch them they said.

This celebrity status to me (at least) started off Jubelin's investigative involvement in the disappearance of William on a totally the wrong foot. Many members of the public may have held back with their cooperation in fear of such a dog-headed investigator. His own colleagues and team members may have felt overawed by his status, even perhaps feeling their own investigative skills were not up to his standard as perceived personally by them and the public.

I believe Jubelin's status has worked against both him and the investigation of William's disappearance.

Very unusual case to say the very least. I personally believe the investigation needs to be reviewed thoroughly by a Team of experienced cold case specialists that have had zero involvement with NSW police. Team members brought in from different States and overseas from places like Scotland Yard, FBI/CIA etc.

Someone has told me recently that two major unsolved cases that Jubelin has been involved in have included (highly unusual) involvement with politicians .......... William's case and the unsolved Bowraville case. The political involvement in the Bowraville case has been very widely publicized with loads of media coverage. William's foster carers apparently had meetings at the NSW Parliament with most NSW politicians present. The foster carers have discussed some of their involvement with nsw politicians on a Lia Harris podcast.

All very very unsual from my point of view.

Your bolded section above. I am sure there are loads of female investigators that feel the same way too.

What I found very interesting about details in the cold case reviews and solving of unsolved crimes was that the vital piece of information was almost always already on file. And that many times the vital piece had been supplied by members of the public.

I wonder what snippet there will be on the police file of William's investigation that contains the micro piece of gold that will lead an investigator to that mindnumbing moment of their career.

I also wonder how the names of Mr Spedding and Mr Savage first go to media representatives and who supplied those names and relevant address details to the media.

Does anyone know which media organization first published the details of the charges against Jubelin and what date and time that article was first published?

I doubt the investigation has been halted or disposed as you say.

People need to be held to account for their unlawful actions .... who ever they are.

Do you think the public held back for the first five months also, when Paul Fehon was in charge ?
William's foster carers apparently had meetings at the NSW Parliament with most NSW politicians present.
In the UK parents of missing Madeleine McCann Also appealed to UK government,to highlight their missing child's case and keep it in the public eye.

There is something else to consider with regard to any police officer recording a person without their knowledge and using information in that recording to further an investigation and subsequent successful prosection. And that is, if a person is recorded (as alleged in the current matter again Jubelin), that person has not been given the right to remain silent. Here is some very interesting information with nsw law changes in 2013!. I suggest you read the whole document.

Does NSW still have a Right to Silence? - National Criminal Lawyers

It would seem there were particular reasons that formed the background that formulated the reasons for raising the 4 charges against Jubelin. Formed from my reading of the material in the above link and further research.

Just maybe it was the same person that leaked that GJ was being charged to the media, before he actually was.
