Things to ponder...
I was speaking with a family member about this case & their reaction was, "I wonder who killed the guy?" It made me start thinking differently about this case.

I'm just stuck on the comment at the presser that no one in the community needs to be concerned.

LE seems to have this wrapped up since there is no person of interest.......

It’s kinda of driving me crazy because I can make arguments from known facts and statements that the man killed himself but can also do the same for the thought that someone killed him. And neither feels like a reach.

I would really think if it were an obvious suicide that LE would have stated “it appears he took his own life” but they didn’t. Something held them back from it. Combined with the request to know more about him and them saying they want to make sure no one else is involved ; I can’t help but think this may not be as obvious as it seems.

It's not LE's job to declare cause and/or manner of death though. That's the coroner's job and she said she wasn't going to speculate. MOO

LE has been tight lipped from day 1. No speculation just facts. They’re crossing their t’s before they reveal anything publicly.

Which I find interesting. Again, I would think if it were obvious that this was an open and shut murder suicide they would want to state that as quickly as possible to give the community the sense that it was finished and there was zero threat. That’s not what they chose to do. Which does make me tip my head.

Though I do think it’s likely a murder suicide, I won’t be surprised if COD for him also turns out to be homicide.

I don’t think they’ve been tight lipped at all. In fact I think they’ve been super forth coming and given all the info that they possibly can (without hindering) at the first opportunity.

I understand. I thought Antley said that there was no threat to the public though. Did I dream that? MOO

Couldn't agree more. MOO

Yes, I heard that too. What if they have someone under tight surveillance & dont want to let on? JS

I don't know.....in that case I just can't see them making such a point about having no POI, yet no one needs to be afraid. (I'm beginning to sound like a broken record on this! Sorry.)

We'll know tomorrow, I suppose, after the afternoon presser with autopsy results.

Is it known whether or not Faye's body was moved (to where it would be found, imo) BEFORE her neighbor died, in whatever manner he did?

The simplest, most straightforward guess based on what has & hasn't been said by LE is that this was a murder-suicide, which is why they were OK with telling the community there was no need for concern. Crossing their i's, being careful and thorough, and as transparent as they are able, while also protecting their ongoing investigation.

But have to say my first and second thought was the possibility of a 3rd party who knew what had happened, ultimately moved her body to where it would be found, and then unilaterally bypassed the legal & judicial systems.

Wrong choice of words. They’ve been excellent at communicating with the public but they are holding these last few cards close IMO.

We'll know more with the results of the autopsies, obviously. Until we do know, I think it is a possibility.

Years ago, the Harvey family was tortured and slaughtered in Richmond, VA. LE told the public not to be concerned. The killers turned out to be strangers who noticed the family's front door was open. After that, we no longer left our front door open so our dogs could enjoy the sunlight. The Harvey family killers went on to commit more murders.

Why the media feels the need to ask LE the question "Should the public be worried?" and why LE feels the need to answer is beyond me. The public should be concerned and exercise caution until full details are known and I bet the public is doing just that. If I lived in that neighborhood, there is no way my 6-year-old would ever again be playing in the front yard by herself.
